Send us a textSelasee Atiase was born and raised in Accra, Ghana. His upbringing was Christian, so he attended church every Sunday. On one particular Sunday, he heard someone playing guitar at the church, and something clicked for him. The melodies this musician played and the way they made Atiase feel inspired him to pick up the guitar, and by the age of twelve or thirteen, he had started performing his own compositions at church. He started studying in the School for Performing Arts at the University of Ghana, played with a local band, and continued performing and writing music however he could. In 1998, a church group in which Atiase was involved hosted a worldwide seminar, and his band performed for those in attendance. The band was invited to perform in Minneapolis, where the members stayed for two weeks and hosted workshops in schools. Atiase returned to Ghana shortly after and graduated from the University of Ghana in 1999. He moved back and forth between Ghana and the United States until 2001. The fallout from the September 11th attacks made it harder to travel outside of the country, and Atiase ended up settling permanently. After emigrating to the United States, he pursued a solo music career, and in 2005, under the management of Sean Cassidy and signed to Running Dreams Records, he released his debut album Run. The title track earned first place in the world music genre and second place in the people's choice category at the International Song Writers Competition, that same song was included in the soundtrack of the EA Sports video game FIFA Soccer 06, and another song of his, “Makuma,” was included in the soundtrack for EA's Cricket 07 (this song has not been officially released as of this writing). Selasee has since released two more albums, African Gate and Time for Peace, and the single “Count on Me” with David Hinojosa, and he is currently working on his fourth album, which will emphasize his current project Selasee and the Fafa Family. NBA – Pistons’ Cunningham to have season-ending surgery Detroit guard Cade Cunningham is planning to have season-ending surgery to repair his left shin, a person with knowledge of the situation said. The No. 1 pick in the 2021 draft is expected to be ready for the start of training camp next season, said the person, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because neither Cunningham nor the team announced the plans for surgery publicly. ESPN first reported that Cunningham would be having the season-ending procedure. NBA – National Basketball Association Last Night Miami Heat 87, Indiana Pacers 82 Heat 87, Pacers 82 – Butler’s late flurry helps Heat put away Pacers 87-82 Bam Adebayo had 22 points and 17 rebounds, and Jimmy Butler scored seven straight points in the closing minutes to help the Miami Heat hold off the Indiana Pacers 87-82. The Heat had lost three of their previous four. Butler finished with 20 points. Buddy Hield led the Pacers with 19 points in a rough-and-tumble game in which baskets came at a premium. Butler finally cranked it up late, helping the Heat turn a 77-73 contest into an 84-75 edge. Indiana never got closer than four. NFL – National Football League – Week 14 Last Night New England Patriots 27, Arizona Cardinals 13 Patriots 27, Cardinals 13 – Patriots rally for 27-13 win over Cardinals, Murray hurt Mac Jones threw for 235 yards, Raekwon McMillan had a crucial fumble return for a touchdown and the New England Patriots earned a 27-13 win on Monday night over the Arizona Cardinals, who lost starting quarterback Kyler Murray in the first quarter to a potentially serious knee injury. New England trailed 13-10 at the break but tied the game at 13-all early in the third quarter after a short field goal. The Patriots got their game-changing play and a 20-13 lead later in the third when McMillan scooped up a fumble and returned it 23 yards for a touchdown. Murray was hurt on the third play of the game, immediately changing the complexion of the evening. NFL – Bears get 2 rookie defensive starters back to face Eagles The Chicago Bears will have defensive backs Kyler Gordon and Jaquan Brisker back in the starting lineup for the first time since Nov. 20 following concussions as they try to break a six-game losing streak when they face the Philadelphia Eagles. The Bears will need as many players healthy heading into their final four games against the Eagles, Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings. They’ve made progress addressing problems on defense and at pass blocking but quarterback Justin Fields still needs to prove he can win a game at the end after six straight failed attempts to win or tie on their final possessions. NHL – National Hockey League Tonight Carolina Hurricanes at Detroit Red Wings, 7:00 p.m. Washington Capitals at Chicago Blackhawks, 9:00 p.m. NCAAFB – Mississippi State’s Mike Leach listed in critical condition Mississippi State football coach Mike Leach is listed in critical condition at a hospital in Jackson. The update came one day after what the university called “a personal health issue” at his home in Starkville forced him to be airlifted to Jackson. A spokesman at the University of Mississippi Medical Center says Leach is listed in critical condition. Other details are not known, but according to ESPN, Leach suffered a “massive heart attack.” Leach is in his third season at Mississippi State, with a 19-17 record. He is widely recognized for his innovative Air Raid offense. NCAAFB – Navy AD blunt about expectations for program, next coach Navy athletic director Chet Gladchuk says the football program has two main goals. One is to win the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy over Army and Air Force. The other is to go to a bowl. Gladchuk spoke to reporters a day after the academy announced coach Ken Niumatalolo was out after 15 seasons. Niumatalolo is the program’s winningest coach, but he hasn’t been to a bowl or won the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy since 2019. Gladchuk indicated the team would likely keep running the triple option with whoever the new coach is. NCAAMBKB – Purdue moves to No. 1, ‘Bama cracks top 5 Purdue has climbed to No. 1 in men’s basketball AP Top 25 for the second straight season. The Boilermakers moved up three spots in this week’s poll. Virginia moved up to No. 2, with Connecticut, Alabama and Houston rounding out the top five. The Crimson Tide have their second top-five ranking in three seasons after becoming the second team to beat two No. 1 teams in the same season. Alabama knocked off Houston last week after beating North Carolina earlier in the season. NCAAWBKB – South Carolina tops women’s AP Top 25, Kansas has cracked The Associated Press women's basketball poll for the first time in nearly 10 years. The 22nd-ranked Jayhawks routed then 12th-ranked Arizona by 27 points on the road last week. The top five teams remained the same with No. 1 South Carolina followed by Stanford, Ohio State, Indiana and Notre Dame. Virginia Tech was sixth and will host Notre Dame on Sunday. Fellow ACC schools North Carolina and N.C. State were seventh and eighth. UConn fell three spots to ninth after losing at Maryland. UCLA moved up three places to 10th. NCAASOC – Syracuse wins first men’s soccer title, beats Indiana Syracuse goalkeeper Russell Shealy stopped two shots in an eight-round shootout and Amferny Sinclair scored the game-winner as No. 3 seed Syracuse beat 13th-seeded Indiana 7-6 in a shootout to win the NCAA College Cup championship for the first time in program history. It was the longest penalty shootout in the history of the College Cup. Indiana tied it at 2-all in the 80th minute before the title game went to overtime for the sixth time in nine years. After two scoreless 10-minute overtime sessions, each goalkeeper had a diving save in the second round before the next 10 players scored. Syracuse was playing in its first men's soccer title match after setting a program record in the semifinals with its 18th win. NCAASWM – High court won’t hear Title IX case involving MSU The Supreme Court says it won't take the plunge into a dispute over Michigan State University's decision to end its swimming-and-diving teams, a decision female athletes sued over. The case was one of many the high court rejected Monday. As is typical, the justices didn't comment in turning away the case. The dispute the justices rejected stems from MSU's decision to end its men's and women's swimming-and-diving teams after the 2021 season. The school cited cost as the reason, saying its swimming and diving facilities needed millions in upgrades. School officials have said they're discussing reinstating the swimming-and-diving program. WNBA – Nneka Ogwumike elected to 3rd term as WNBA union president Nneka Ogwumike will serve a third term as president of the WNBA Players Association after being re-elected over the weekend. The Los Angeles Sparks star has served as WNBPA President since 2016, first winning reelection in 2019. She was instrumental in negotiating for the ground-breaking 2020 collective bargaining agreement that saw major pay increases and guarantees of full salaries of players on maternity leave. The contract, which runs through 2027, also provided enhanced family benefits, travel standards and other health and wellness improvements. Las Vegas Aces guard Kelsey Plum was elected to serve as First Vice President of the union. It's her first term on the WNBPA Executive Committee. Momentum is building behind Messi's push to cap his one-of-a-kind career by winning the World Cup for the first time. The 35-year-old Argentina playmaker has carried his team to the semifinals almost in the same way Diego Maradona led the South American nation to the title in 1986. Now in Argentina's way is Croatia. The 2018 runner-up is establishing a reputation as the most stubborn and durable of opponents and boasts one of soccer's most graceful players in Luka Modric. FIFA – US almost sent Reyna home from World Cup for lack of hustle American midfielder Gio Reyna almost was sent home from the World Cup because of a lack of hustle in training, for which he later apologized. U.S. coach Gregg Berhalter revealed the team's concerns about a player when speaking at the HOW Institute for Society's Summit on Moral Leadership. His remarks were published by Charter Works. Berhalter said: “We had a player that was clearly not meeting expectations on and off the field … We were ready to book a plane ticket home, that's how extreme it was.” Charter later said Berhalter’s remarks were not meant to be made public. FIFA – Soccer journalist Grant Wahl’s body returned to US A senior State Department official says the body and possessions of soccer journalist Grant Wahl have been repatriated to the United States after his death last week while covering the World Cup in Qatar. The official says Wahl’s remains and his belongings arrived at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport around 8:30 a.m. ET. They were accompanied by a consular official from the U.S. embassy in Doha who had had custody of Wahl’s remains since shortly after he collapsed and died during Friday’s match between Argentina and the Netherlands. Secretary of State Antony Blinken says Wahl’s “writing captured not only the essence of the beautiful game but also the world around it.” FIFA – Tchouaméni shows at World Cup why Mbappé wanted him at PSG Kylian Mbappé is finally getting his chance to play alongside Aurélien Tchouaméni. The France teammates have reached the World Cup semifinals and will next face Morocco on Wednesday. Tchouaméni's displays at the heart of the France midfield have shown why Real Madrid paid $84.5 million to sign him in June. The 22-year-old Tchouaméni moved to Madrid despite Mbappé tempting him to team up together at Paris Saint-Germain. Tchouaméni has stepped up as a key starter for France after injuries to long-time starters Paul Pogba and N'Golo Kanté. They were accompanied by a consular official from the U.S. embassy in Doha who had had custody of Wahl’s remains since shortly after he collapsed and died during Friday’s match between Argentina and the Netherlands. The 22-year-old Tchouaméni moved to Madrid despite Mbappé tempting him to team up together at Paris Saint-Germain. The contract, which runs through 2027, also provided enhanced family benefits, travel standards and other health and wellness improvements. Las Vegas Aces guard Kelsey Plum was elected to serve as First Vice President of the union. It's her first term on the WNBPA Executive Committee. First it was Neymar, then it was Cristiano Ronaldo and it could be Lionel Messi next. The audio quality can be a little wonky this week. We've identified the issue and resolved it. Sorry about that. We've heard for years that gamers are violent. But what if gamers were more peaceful in game than the people around them in real life? A really interesting new study has identified that gamers behave differently in EVE Online depending on the type of community they live in.The Nirvana Nevermind baby isn't happy about his nudes being plastered all over record stores and the internet. Now he's suing. We're not legal beagles, but we've got opinions.Roblox is bad. It isn't the simple gameplay, the child targeted community, or the memes. Actually, it's bad because it's one of the worst deals for game devs out there. Roblox seem intent to make it hard to make money from developing on their platform. That's a really nice way to treat the people who made your game popular. People are also trying to recreate mass killings in a game for children. Davatzes joined the company as CEO in 1983 just as A&E Networks was formed through the merger of fledgling cable channels Entertainment Network, owned by RCA and the Rockefeller family, and ARTS Network, owned by Hearst and ABC. A+E Networks today is a 50-50 joint venture of the Walt Disney Co. and Hearst Corp. Davatzes served as CEO emeritus. Davatzes led the company's launch of the signature A&E Network (an amalgam of Arts and Entertainment) in 1984 and History Channel in 1995 (History formally dropped “Channel” from its moniker in 2008). He served as CEO of the parent company through 2005, when he was succeeded by protege Abbe Raven, who started at the company as a secretary. Davatzes was known for promoting educational outreach and the importance of industry R&D during his run at A&E Networks. The company later expanded to include the Lifetime cable channel as well as more recent entries like lifestyle channel FYI and Lifetime Movie Network. Disney executive chairman Bob Iger hailed him as a “towering figure in the early days of cable television (who helped) build some of the most iconic brands in the media landscape.” Iger added that he was “a person of true integrity.” He died in Wilton, Connecticut.24th August 2021 – Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts passes away at 80 - https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-08-25/rolling-stones-drummer-charlie-watts-dies-at-age-80/100404658Charlie Watts, the drummer who provided the backbone of the Rolling Stones' songs for more than half a century, has died. Watts "passed away peacefully in a London hospital earlier today surrounded by his family," his publicist Bernard Doherty said. "Charlie was a cherished husband, father and grandfather and also as a member of The Rolling Stones, as one of the greatest drummers of his generation." The quiet, elegantly dressed Watts was often ranked with Keith Moon, Ginger Baker and a handful of others as a premier rock drummer, respected worldwide for his muscular, swinging style as the band rose from its scruffy beginnings to international superstardom. He joined the Stones early in 1963 and remained over the next 60 years, ranked just behind Jagger and Keith Richards as the group's longest lasting and most essential members. Watts stayed on, and largely held himself apart, through the drug abuse, creative clashes and ego wars that helped kill founding member Brian Jones, drove bassist Bill Wyman and Jones' replacement Mick Taylor to quit and otherwise made being in the Stones the most exhausting of jobs. The Stones began, Watts said, "as white blokes from England playing black American music" but quickly evolved their own distinctive sound. Watts was a jazz drummer in his early years and never lost his affinity for the music he first loved, heading his own jazz band and taking on numerous other side projects. He had his eccentricities — Watts liked to collect cars even though he didn't drive and would simply sit in them in his garage. But he was a steadying influence on stage and off as the Stones defied all expectations by rocking well into their 70s, decades longer than their old rivals The Beatles. He died in London with his family around him.25th August 2021 – Linux turns 30 - https://www.zdnet.com/article/linus-torvalds-on-linuxs-30th-birthday/ In 1991, Unix was an important but secondary x86 operating system. That year, on August 25, a mild-mannered Finnish graduate student named Linus Benedict Torvalds announced on the Usenet group comp.os.minix that he was working on "a (free) operating system (just a hobby, won't be big and professional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones." No one knew it, not even Torvalds, but the technology was going to change forever. Thirty years later, Linux rules IT. Almost all major websites -- including Google, Facebook, and Wikipedia -- run on Linux. It's the same with the clouds. Even on Microsoft's own Azure, the most popular operating system is Linux. As for supercomputers, all 500 of the world's fastest 500 supercomputers run Linux. Thanks to Android, Linux is also the most popular end-user operating system. Not bad for a hobby operating system! In those very first days, Linux wasn't formally known as Linux. Torvalds explained, "Linux was my working name, but I never wanted to release it as Linux. Linux was a perfectly good working name, but if I actually used it as the official one, people would think that I am an egomaniac and wouldn't take it seriously. So I chose this very bad name, "Freax," for "Free Unix." Fortunately, the first Linux administrator Ari Lemmk, decided Freax was a silly name too. Hence, he actually named it Linux because he thought this internal project name was Torvalds first choice.Remembrances25th August 1822 – William Herschel - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_HerschelGerman-born British astronomer and composer. He frequently collaborated with his younger sister and fellow astronomer Caroline Lucretia Herschel. Born in the Electorate of Hanover, William Herschel followed his father into the military band of Hanover, before emigrating to Great Britain in 1757 at the age of nineteen. Herschel constructed his first large telescope in 1774, after which he spent nine years carrying out sky surveys to investigate double stars. Herschel published catalogues of nebulae in 1802 (2,500 objects) and in 1820 (5,000 objects). The resolving power of the Herschel telescopes revealed that many objects called nebulae in the Messier catalogue were actually clusters of stars. On 13 March 1781 while making observations he made note of a new object in the constellation of Gemini. This would, after several weeks of verification and consultation with other astronomers, be confirmed to be a new planet, eventually given the name of Uranus. This was the first planet to be discovered since antiquity, and Herschel became famous overnight. As a result of this discovery, George III appointed him Court Astronomer. He was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society and grants were provided for the construction of new telescopes. Herschel pioneered the use of astronomical spectrophotometry, using prisms and temperature measuring equipment to measure the wavelength distribution of stellar spectra. In the course of these investigations, Herschel discovered infrared radiation. Other work included an improved determination of the rotation period of Mars, the discovery that the Martian polar caps vary seasonally, the discovery of Titania and Oberon (moons of Uranus) and Enceladus and Mimas (moons of Saturn). Herschel was made a Knight of the Royal Guelphic Order in 1816. He was the first President of the Royal Astronomical Society when it was founded in 1820. He died at the age of 83 at Observatory House, Windsor Road, Slough Herschel's epitaph is Coelorum perrupit claustra (He broke through the barriers of the heavens).Famous Birthdays25th August 1819 – Allan Pinkerton - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allan_PinkertonScottish–American detective and spy, best known for creating the Pinkerton National Detective Agency. Pinkerton first became interested in criminal detective work while wandering through the wooded groves around Dundee, looking for trees to make barrel staves, when he came across a band of counterfeiters, who may have been affiliated with the notorious Banditti of the Prairie. After observing their movements for some time he informed the local sheriff, who arrested them. This later led to Pinkerton being appointed, in 1849, as the first police detective in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. In 1850, he partnered with Chicago attorney Edward Rucker in forming the North-Western Police Agency, which later became Pinkerton & Co, and finally Pinkerton National Detective Agency, still in existence today as Pinkerton Consulting and Investigations, a subsidiary of Securitas AB. Pinkerton's business insignia was a wide open eye with the caption "We never sleep." As the US expanded in territory, rail transport increased. Pinkerton's agency solved a series of train robberies during the 1850s, first bringing Pinkerton into contact with George McClellan, then Chief Engineer and Vice President of the Illinois Central Railroad, and Abraham Lincoln, the company's lawyer. When the Civil War began, Pinkerton served as head of the Union Intelligence Service during the first two years, heading off an alleged assassination plot in Baltimore, Maryland while guarding Abraham Lincoln on his way to Washington, D.C. as well as identifying troop numbers in military campaigns. His agents often worked undercover as Confederate soldiers and sympathizers to gather military intelligence. Pinkerton himself served on several undercover missions as a Confederate soldier using the alias Major E.J. Allen. He worked across the Deep South in the summer of 1861, focusing on fortifications and Confederate plans. This counterintelligence work done by Pinkerton and his agents is comparable to the work done by today's U.S. Army Counterintelligence Special Agents in which Pinkerton's agency is considered an early predecessor. He was succeeded as Intelligence Service chief by Lafayette Baker; the Intelligence Service was the predecessor of the U.S. Secret Service. His work led to the establishment of the Federal secret service. Despite his agency's later reputation for anti-labor activities, Pinkerton himself was heavily involved in pro-labor politics as a young man. Though Pinkerton considered himself pro-labor, he opposed strikes and distrusted labor unions. He was born in Gorbals, Glasgow.Events of Interest25th August 1957- The Invisible Man Vs. The Human Fly premiered in Japan - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0204691/ A star is born! On this day in 1957 (in Japan), The Invisible Man Vs. The Human Fly took to the silver screen for a monster of a pairing! Directed by Mitsuo Murayama, the SciFi/Fantasy starred Ryûji Shinagawa and Yoshirô Kitahara; and here's the plot summary: "A ruthless serial killer with a peculiar method of stalking and killing his victims comes face to face with a police officer turned invisible by a scientific experiment. Who will emerge triumphant?" In the late 1950s, in the United States this film was announced, and stills were published, under the English language title "The Murdering Mite." This film shares part of its Japanese title with the Japanese release of the much better-known 1958 U.S. science fiction film The Fly, which was released in Japan as Fear of the Fly Man (ハエ男の恐怖 Hae Otoko no Kyōfu), though with the 'Fly' in "Fly Man" spelled in katakana rather than kanji characters. While both films feature "fly men," The Invisible Man vs. The Human Fly actually predates the latter film by almost an entire year.25th August 1989 – Voyager 2 spacecraft makes its closest approach to Neptune, the last planet in the Solar System at the time, due to Pluto being within Neptune's orbit from 1979 to 1999 - https://www.wired.com/2010/08/0825voyager2-neptune/ Voyager 2 makes its closest encounter with Neptune, passing just 3,000 miles above the cloud tops of the most distant planet in our solar system. The Voyager 2 space probe has been our most productive unmanned space voyage. It visited all four of the outer planets and their systems of moons and rings, including the first visits to previously unexplored Uranus and Neptune. Voyager 2 found four rings and evidence for ring arcs, or incomplete rings, above Neptune. That means all four of the gas giants in our solar system have rings. Neptune's, however, are very meager compared to the magnificent rings around Saturn. In the late 19th century, astronomers thought that an unseen Planet X was influencing the orbits of Uranus and Neptune. The observed positions of the two planets and their calculated positions differed. Among those astronomers convinced of the existence of Planet X was Clyde Tombaugh. In 1930 while scanning areas of the sky for Planet X, he found Pluto. When Voyager 2 flew by Neptune, it took very precise measurements of Neptune's mass and found it to be about 0.5 percent less massive than previous estimates. When the orbits of Uranus and Neptune were recalculated using the more accurate mass figure, it became clear that the imprecise number for Neptune -- and not the gravity of an unseen planet -- had caused the observed orbital discrepancies. After its encounter with Neptune, the spacecraft was rechristened the Voyager Interstellar Mission by NASA to take measurements of the interplanetary magnetic field, plasma and charged-particle environment. But mostly it's searching for the heliopause, the distance at which the solar wind becomes subsumed by the more general interstellar wind.IntroArtist – Goblins from MarsSong Title – Super Mario - Overworld Theme (GFM Trap Remix)Song Link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GNMe6kF0j0&index=4&list=PLHmTsVREU3Ar1AJWkimkl6Pux3R5PB-QJFollow us onFacebook- Page - https://www.facebook.com/NerdsAmalgamated/- Group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/440485136816406/Twitter - https://twitter.com/NAmalgamatedSpotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/6Nux69rftdBeeEXwD8GXrSiTunes - https://itunes.apple.com/au/podcast/top-shelf-nerds/id1347661094Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/nerds_amalgamated/Email - Nerds.Amalgamated@gmail.comSupport via Podhero- https://podhero.com/podcast/449127/nerds-amalgamated See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Join us to talk confusing multiplayer modes and discuss the fascinating enigma that is Dr. Christmas Jones.  Hosted by Steve Guntli and Woody Ciskowski  Logo by Steve Guntli / Updated logo by Barry Shaw  Theme song: "Truck" by The Octopus Project (theoctopusproject.com)  ultra64podcast.com  Twitter: @ultra64podcast  Email: ultra64podcast@gmail.com  Instagram: @ultra64podcast  Patreon: patreon.com/ultra64pod  Next week's episode: FIFA Soccer 64 / FIFA 98: Road to the World Cup / FIFA 99

This week on Scorchio, Edward and Ian have been battering their B buttons as they got back to grips with FIFA Soccer 95. In many ways it is the first modern FIFA game, in that it came out a year after the previous one and a year before the next one and if you didn't get them all your peers would shun you. FIFA revolutionised the genre 25 years ago, so now two bitter old men pass judgement on whether or not it still holds up today. Can Scotland win the World Cup? Are All-Stars teams cheating? And how is it possible to get bored of watching goals sail in from 35 yards? All these questions are answered in full. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

It was created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, and launched in October 2010 exclusively on iOS. FIFA, also known as FIFA Football or FIFA Soccer, is a series of association football video games or football simulator, released annually by Electronic Arts under the EA Sports label.

Gen Z doesn’t know a world without the Playstation in it.  The oldest Gen Z’ers have been taking pictures with iPhone since they were 10.  Pencil renderings certainly doesn’t spark their imagination and photos and videos from a “similar property” that was built somewhere else evokes questions about what their community will and won’t have.  So it seems only natural that as operators, we now are looking to virtual reality to create that connection with prospects.  Regardless if you are developing a property or currently operating a student property, VR is increasingly becoming a necessary sales tool for your website. One of the companies that is creating VR tours for student housing is uForis based in Vancouver, Canada.  Why is Vancouver important?  Because that’s where EA Sports’ largest developer studio is located.  We’re talking about game developers that created games like FIFA Soccer and Madden Football.  uForis was founded by these same developers from EA Sports.  So as you can imagine… their commitment to quality is deep. Recently I sat down with 2 of the Founders from uForis, Dora Cheng and David Li to talk to them about why they chose to move from the gaming industry to create VR renderings of Real Estate and their journey into student housing. For more information, go to ww.uForis.com or contact David Li at david@uforis.com. For questions about Student Housing Insight, email us at contact@StudentHousingInsight.com

Continuing on in my analysis of video game companies is my review of Electronic Arts. EA is more known for its sports games such as Madden Football and FIFA Soccer. It seems like a natural fit for EA to leverage their sports expertise into the E-Sports domain. In this episode I do a quick mind map analysis to see if EA is worthy of adding to my portfolios.

Lex was traveling this week so we have a guest, one John Gruber. He's apparently some guy in the Internet. Not coincidentally, this is our longest episode ever. What was the deal with bearer bonds back in the 1980s movies? They were basically what every villain was after. In the upcoming SPECTRE, it's probably something else. Don't take the kids to see American Sniper for the holidays. We talk again about our Frozen experiences. A holiday trip to FAO Schwarz seems dicey but if you're in Manhattan how can you not? Also, Dylan's Candy Bar. Oh, man. Playmobil has some great robbery sets that Gruber and Moltz speak highly of. Their kids might, too. Not sure. Moltz's kid is getting a PC laptop for Christmas and Moltz is already having trouble with it. Moltz wants to know if Jon's and Gruber's kids are getting his Minecraft book for Christmas. Gruber's kid might be getting a Playstation 4 with LEGO Batman 3 and FIFA Soccer. Jon's kids might be getting Minecraft for Playstation. One wants an Easy-Bake oven. If you don't follow the Grubers on Twitter, they had an interesting time setting up their Christmas tree this year. Moltz's tree contribution is putting up his Star Trek ornaments. He doesn't have this one but it's on his wish list. Follow us: @ttcashow. Lex Friedman can be found @lexfri, John Moltz can be found @Moltz and Jon Armstrong is @blurb. You can also follow John Gruber here: @gruber or @daringfireball
