I just had a week that was, objectively, very good. I was productive, got to go to an in-person callback audition for an indie film, and was put on avail for a national commercial. All in all, major wins, right? In hindsight, I can say yes. But in the moment, I was absolutely devastated. It was hard for me to see what I had accomplished because I had so many negative emotions and thoughts swirling around in my mind. And that is so common in the actor world, where we ricochet back and forth alongside the peaks and valleys of this career. So I walk you through what I did to bring me back to myself again after losing my way. A nameless young woman from This Place, and a nameless young man from That Place are stuck together when That Place, the occupying force, imposes another curfew on This Place. Author Nandita Dinesh never identifies the country, but the two protagonists share a language and much of their culture. They're also falling in love. The young woman from That Place is a De-programmer, whose job involves interviewing the military troops now patrolling outside the house where she's holed up with the young man. He is a Protest Designer, skilled at waiting out curfews, although his brother is supposed to be getting married the next day and there's a lot of conversations about that. While confined with the young woman, the young man explains his strategies for passing time while under curfew. He wonders how his family and neighbors will react if he marries her. Where would they live? They swap stories about their families and respective homelands, and want to imagine strategies for ending the conflict, but nothing seems doable. This is an allegory for military occupations, like what we're currently seeing in Ukraine, but it's happened all over the world. This Place That Place (Melville House, 2022) is also a glimpse at what it might be like for hapless citizens to be imprisoned in their own homes. Nandita holds a PhD in Drama from the University of Cape Town in South Africa, and an MA in Performance Studies from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. An amateur cook who loves experimenting with Indian cuisines, Nandita has conducted community-based theatre projects across a range of contexts and in 2017, she was awarded the Elliott Hayes Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dramaturgy by Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas. She was born and raised in Coimbatore, India and now lives in San Francisco with her husband and a 90-pound Doberman Mix named Mila. Nandita is currently working on projects across literary genres — a book that lies somewhere between a novel, a memoir, and a play being the next in line! G.P. # La última canción, "All The Clocks". Mucha suerte.

When I was very young there was a place I would never go. In fact, even the thought of that dreaded place would cause me to panic - heart racing, hands sweating, pupils dilated, feet restless - all the signs that my tiny, four-year-old body was getting ready to fight or run away. And for me, running away has always seemed the smart option. So, there was no way I was ever venturing anywhere near That Place. That Place - that chamber of blood-curdling horror, was in my grandmother's backyard.

El primero, The Wheels y su canción “Jesus Came From Mars”.

Lyon is punching above its weight. Not in an overly violent or aggressive fashion but in a self contained manner with progression and depth. The city has become one of the most musically interesting in France over the past few years with the likes of Le Sucre, Chez Emille and Nuits Sonores all leading the charge. However, beneath the surface you will also find a small number of burgeoning record labels which are helping to push local producers and sounds into the limelight. Juliano is one such producer whom is starting to amass a reputation. As a producer he writes deep, melodically pleasing house with an analogue edge: he is also the founder of That Place records, an up and coming record label with a beautiful aesthetic and an interesting back catalogue. Now based in Berlin he talks about the roots of the label.

We are thrilled to launch our new Magician On Duty Podcast Series! Come dream & take this journey with us! More Info about Gary: https://soundcloud.com/dj-gary-h https://www.facebook.com/DJ.Gary.Hassekian By the time he was 19, he found the perfect opportunity to perform on stage and starting residencies, what he had always dreamed of (playing and sharing electronic music), when he was assigned as the resident DJ at White --The first and only club in Aleppo for Electronic Music-- Having achieved numerous successful sets at events and residencies, he went on to be recognized by developing a new scene in the city. Since then, he has done the warm-up and follow-up sets for many international acts and DJs. Moving to Armenia in 2013 was inspirational, Armenia is known for rich music culture in general and the young generation of electronic music artists and producers. After countless residencies in Yerevan's venues such as Kami, Oak, That Place, Eden and Calumet he was in the heart of the country’s underground scene. Moving to Montreal, Canada in 2015 was a perfect decision for him, as the city is widely known for the diverse and huge art culture background in general and the underground music scene specifically. No suena mal.
