It's one of my favourite RPGs on the Wii U/Switch and a real highlight in the series for me which is in no small part due to the music being exceptionally good even for a series that has notably great music as-is. Even though I don't really enjoy Fire Emblem, but the Fire Emblem stuff is more or less a bonus anyway, so I asked Nate from the 13 Sentinels episode to come back and provide some of the context for Fire Emblem that I am obviously missing. We also talk about Vagina Bones for a while because it's probably this game's biggest cultural legacy outside of the incredible JPop soundtrack. Join our Discord! FIRE EMBLEM. SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI. Two great tastes that taste great together? That's what we're finding out this week as we play the JRPG mash-up TOKYO MIRAGE SESSIONS #FE! This week, we're joined by one of our faves, Vidjagame Apocalypse host Mikel Reparaz, who helps us talk through this ambitious crossover that takes its two fantasy series and blends them with the world of Japanese pop music. It's time to hack and slash our way through endless hordes with some historically-sourced heroes, because this week we're playing two games in the WARRIORS series! Koei's action series helped the company graduate from stodgy strategy RPGs to epic action, and the franchise has gone from Three Kingdoms-era China to Nintendo's mythical land of Hyrule. Does the simple formula still hold up, or has the repetitive gameplay worn out it's welcome like we wear out the Y button? After a bit of a delay, we're back in the Summoner's chair to discuss the latest banners in Fire Emblem Heroes, including a new Thief Festival Special Heroes banner and the long awaiting Choose Your Legend 6 banner. We also preview the next Resplendent Hero! Moving over to the Outrealm Gate, we wrap up our Fire Emblem Awakening Game Club, then tease what's next for our Special Discussions Game Club focused on Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. We'll be back in a few weeks with new Special Heroes, thanks for listening and happy summoning!
There is no other explanation. 0:08 - How obnoxiously cumbersome could Nintendo make a simple file copy? 44:58 - I've been playing Persona 5. I might have been playing it wrong.
This week is pretty off the wall tbh. Discussions include baboon ethics, improv styles, jobs for boys, Allison's muscles, papal bullying, an unsponsored ad for Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, a true all-terrain vehicle, tips on falling from the sky, and whether Katy Perry is a lizard. Very little of it makes sense.

¡Buenas, amigos y amigas! PD: Bernadetta, mi hija, my son.
