Bitte um Aufmerksamkeit: Auf keinen Fall die RTX 5060 Ti mit 8GB VRAM kaufen! Vielen Dank. On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we talk through all of the latest rumors about the iPhone SE 4 as it nears launch. The fourth-generation iPhone SE is widely rumored to feature an iPhone 14-style all-screen design with a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID, and USB-C. Images of dummy models showcasing the new design were recently shared online. Recent reports suggest that the fourth-generation iPhone SE is expected to support Apple Intelligence thanks to the A18 chip and 8GB of memory. Both the main and front-facing cameras are expected to receive major upgrades to 48- and 12-megapixel sensors, respectively. Contrary to earlier rumors, the device is no longer expected to feature the Camera Control, Action Button, or Dynamic Island. The fourth-generation iPhone SE is highly likely to be the first to feature Apple's custom 5G modem. While it won't feature mmWave connectivity and may be slower than the Qualcomm components currently used in iPhones, it is expected to offer lower power consumption, improved cellular network scanning, and satellite connectivity enhancements. The iPhone SE 4 is due to be released before iOS 18.4, sometime around March or April. It is expected to be slightly more expensive than the current model with a price point of about $470. We also look ahead to the Apple Watch SE 3, which is expected to debut later this year. Try Notion for free by visiting https://www.notion.com/macrumors On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we discuss the unprecedented leak of Apple's M4 MacBook Pro models and the company's rumored move to more staggered hardware and software releases. Multiple leaks surrounding Apple's unannounced 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 chip recently surfaced online. The leaks began with unboxing videos shared by several Russian YouTube channels, showcasing the new entry-level MacBook Pro ahead of its official announcement. These leaks were followed by a listing on a Russian classifieds site, where multiple units were allegedly being sold after what appears to be theft from a warehouse. This marks one of Apple's most significant leaks in recent memory, drawing comparisons to the 2010 iPhone 4 prototype incident. The leaked MacBook Pro reveals several notable upgrades. The M4 chip with a 10-core CPU is 25% faster than the M3's 8-core CPU. As rumored, it also comes with 16GB of RAM as the new base configuration, doubling the previous standard of 8GB, and support for up to two external displays with the lid open. Another key improvement is the addition of a third Thunderbolt port, bringing the entry-level model up to parity with the higher-end configurations. It also looks like the entry-level MacBook Pro will be available in the Space Black color option for the first time. Despite these upgrades, the display, general design, and other features remain unchanged from the current MacBook Pro. These revelations come just weeks before Apple is expected to officially unveil its first M4-powered Macs, with a rumored release date of November 1. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple appears to be slowly moving away from its traditional annual release schedule for hardware and software, favoring a more staggered approach. This shift is evident with the introduction of iOS 18, where key features like Apple Intelligence are delayed and due to be rolled out in subsequent updates throughout 2025. As Apple's product lineup grows more complex, this strategy would allow for better quality control and innovation by releasing products and features when they are fully developed, rather than adhering to fixed timelines. While iPhones are expected to maintain their yearly updates, other products like the Apple Watch and Mac lineup may follow a multi-year or staggered release schedule to make the company's launches less predictable and more flexible. We discuss whether this is a good move for Apple and take stock of its product strategy as a whole in light of recent releases.

On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we discuss all of the latest rumors about the iPhone 17 "Slim" – a whole new kind of iPhone coming next year. The iPhone 17 "Slim" is expected to sit above the iPhone 17 Pro Max in 2025's iPhone lineup with a starting price of approximately $1,299. The main selling point is said to be its all-new design touting a super-thin aluminium-titanium chassis and a relocated rear camera that could feature a variable aperture for the first time. It is expected to have a 6.6-inch display and Apple's custom 5G modem, and it may also feature up to 2TB of storage. Despite its high price point, the device is rumored to contain lower-end specifications than the iPhone 17 Pro models, such as a single rear camera, a standard A19 chip, and 8GB of memory. We also discuss the iPhone 16 Pro's rumored Rose color option that looks set to replace Blue Titanium, Apple's progress on a clamshell foldable iPhone, and the fourth-generation iPhone SE, which is apparently set to hit mass production in October. The new low-cost iPhone is expected to feature an iPhone 14-like design with an OLED display and Face ID, a USB-C port, a single rear 48-megapixel camera, Apple's custom 5G modem, and the Action button.

On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we discuss Apple's new iPad Air and iPad Pro models, the latest rumors about an all new iPhone 17 “Slim” model, and the newly announced Sonos Ace over-ear headphones. We talk through first impressions of the new iPad Air and iPad Pro models, including their pricing and the state of the iPad lineup as a whole, giving attention to the reduced price of the tenth-generation iPad, which now costs just $349, which is $250 less than the starting price of the iPad Air. We also examine the recent wave of rumors about the iPhone 17 “Slim,” an all-new iPhone model expected to sit above the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max in Apple's 2025 smartphone lineup with a higher price tag. The device will reportedly feature a 6.55-inch display, a significantly thinner design with an aluminum chassis, an “A19” chip, 8GB of RAM, a rear camera array relocated to the center, a 24-megapixel front camera, and a 48-megapixel telephoto camera. Simultaneously, Apple is expected to discontinue its “Plus” model to make way for the “Slim,” although it may not actually be called this when it debuts in the fall of next year. Meanwhile, Sonos just announced its "Ace" over-ear headphones with active noise cancelation, soundbar integration, a more lightweight design, and longer battery life, so we look at how they compare to the AirPods Max. 00:00 - iPad Pro Thoughts & Ad Controversy 28:06 - iPhone 17 Slim??? 44:41 - Sonos Ace: AirPods Max Killer?

Gareth Myles and Ted Salmon host a St. Patrick's Day Tech Addicts podcast discussing Voyager 1's latest "poke" from NASA and its minimal computer capacity. They talk about LocalSend, a cross-platform file-sharing tool, and consider diving into Linux. The episode also covers a range of tech topics from Samsung's new phones, a potential TikTok ban, to the latest in wearables and AI advancements. To be sure. A DSN engineer helped decode this signal, which may contain clues to the source of the issue. There is hope! The computers aboard the Voyager probes each have 69.63 kilobytes of memory, total. That's about enough to store one average internet jpeg file. The probes' scientific data is encoded on old-fashioned digital 8-track tape machines. Once it's been transmitted to Earth, the spacecraft have to write over old data in order to have enough room for new observations. The Voyager machines are capable of executing about 81,000 instructions per second. The smartphone that is likely sitting in your pocket is probably about 7,500 times faster than that. They transmit their data back to Earth at 160 bits per second. A slow dial-up connection can deliver at least 20,000 bits per second. …and Kurt Kaufman on NASA Restores Communication with Ailing Voyager 1 (but it can't live forever)! ------------------- Ian Barton on LocalSend (14-minute YouTube Video) A Cross-Platform, Open Source Alternative to AirDrop and Quick Share. The only downside is battery life where I tend to get around 6 hours compared to 10 or more on other Chromebooks - the price you pay for the spec I guess. £849 from Acer News, Mews and Views Bad news for BitLocker users — its encryption can be cracked remarkable easily Spiral-shaped lens provides clear vision at a range of distances and lighting conditions 31 year old sea-floor generator tech will soon begin commercial operation Microsoft is killing off Publisher in 2026 Hardline on the hardware Samsung will re-release the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite tablet in 2024 - Official site Acer Chromebox Mini debuts as a fanless mini PC with ChromeOS New Chromebook ‘Xol' emerges with an Assistant Key built in Easy-to-Repair Knockoff of Original iPod is Crowdfunding Smash The Wearables Watch Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro global pricing revealed ahead of launch Moto Watch 40 announced Phone Zone The first leaked Google Pixel Fold 2 image shows an extra camera and a new design HMD Global confirms there will be new Nokia phones You'll be able to use your Samsung Galaxy phone as your PC's webcam from March The Name of the Game Microsoft Store now lets you instantly try games without downloading them Microsoft is considering launching a number of Xbox-exclusive games on PlayStation - Starfield and Indy are NOT coming to PS5 Flap your trap about an App Microsoft's CCleaner-like PC Manager for Windows 10 and 11 is now widely available via the Store Microsoft's brand new PC Manager could actually slow down your PC Copilot will soon explain what you're reading in Notepad Audacity gets AI transcription and noise suppression courtesy of Intel OpenVINO plug-ins This fantastic File Explorer alternative now has its own list view YouTube's new Shorts feature is a direct attack on TikTok OpenAI's new Sora text-to-video model can make shockingly realistic content - Marques Brownlee's 12 Minute YouTube Video Google Gallows & Chrome Coroner Google Chrome's Android-like media player is just about ready Google One now has more than 100 million subscribers Google's Reading Mode app now works in Gmail and social media apps Hate replying to emails? On this episode of For Mac Eyes Only: Mike and Eric discuss the 8GB vs 16GB debate that resurfaced last week, then kick off the holiday season by sharing their last minute gift picks for the Apple user in your life.
On this episode of For Mac Eyes Only: Mike and Eric are joined by special guest Guy Serle to discuss Apple's decision to not move forward with a 27″ iMac, and whether 8GB of memory is enough on today's Macs. They wrap things up by asking if M1 and M2-series Macs are obsolete (they're not) and what might push someone who owns one to upgrade to an M3.
