She highlights the financial literacy programming offered by Ascend Federal Credit Union, including online modules, calculators, and workshops. Tosha also mentions their initiative, Bonsai, which provides financial education to K-12 students. Welcome to a new segment of the Sales Gravy Podcast called Ask Jeb! I believe sales professionals are the heartbeat of the economy. You're the ones generating revenue for your organization and fueling innovations that keep businesses thriving. Without your hustle, your company doesn't move forward—and, frankly, neither does the global economy. You're the elite athletes of the business world. Ask Jeb is about you and your real world challenges. It's your agenda and you are in control. On this Sales Gravy Podcast segment, I answer your burning questions on driving revenue, growing your pipeline, leading your teams, and staying ahead of the competition. If you want to get on the show with me and ask your question, sign up HERE Question One: Cutting Through the Noise When Prospecting Bob from Tullahoma, Tennessee (whom we affectionately call “Outbound Bob” because he's been to our Outbound Conference so many times!) asked a critical question: “Moving into next year, what prospecting advice, piece of technology, or technique would you offer that could apply across all sales organizations and industries? What's our ‘silver bullet'—even if it doesn't really exist?” No Silver Bullet, But... I'm the first to say there's no magic wand in sales—no easy button that instantly books appointments or closes deals. What we do have is the reality of AI-generated “crap” flooding our inboxes and social feeds. This onslaught of automated noise means salespeople must stand out more than ever. Embrace Deep, Differentiated Sequences My top recommendation is to lean heavily into deep, multichannel prospecting sequences. Use everything at your disposal: Telephone (still the fastest way to close deals) In-person visits (yes, face-to-face still works—and people love seeing a real human) Email (but make it personal and relevant) Direct Messaging (LinkedIn, Messenger—wherever your prospect is, be there) Snail Mail (because physical mailboxes are shockingly empty) Networking & Referrals (the original social media) It's not just about persistence; it's about persistence plus differentiation. If you're simply bombarding prospects with a bunch of generic touches, you're just adding to the noise. Instead, craft messaging that proves you understand their world. Messaging That Speaks to Them Good news: the tsunami of poorly written AI outreach actually helps you stand out if your message is empathetic, clear, and focused on the prospect's key interests. Take the time to truly step into their shoes. Know their persona, their industry, and how you solve their burning issues. Show them you've done your homework. Think of It as One Extended Conversation Each touch—voicemail, email, text, or social message—should flow logically from the last. You don't want to leave the same voicemail three times in a row or send “Just bumping this to the top of your inbox” emails day after day. Instead, let your communication build a case for why a conversation is worthwhile. And remember: the number of touches needed to break through keeps rising (15+ touches for warm prospects, 50+ for cold). So, buckle up, play the long game, and keep your messaging sharp. Question Two: Targeted vs. Personalized Messaging After Bob's question, we tackled another big one from a Sales Gravy Coaching client who wished to remain anonymous: How to handle short-burst prospecting and whether it helps to call businesses that share something in common, like location. Short-Burst Sprints I'm a fan of high-intensity prospecting sprints. Carve out 10–15 minutes, chop wood as fast as you can, then take a break. This approach keeps your energy up and your head in the game. Narrow Your Lists Whenever possible, focus on a list of prospects that have something in common—same industry, similar role, or even the same town. That way, your messaging can be targeted, speaking directly to a collective pain point or shared experience.

Tasting Notes: The latest Orphan Barrel project is a fantastically tasty blend of Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee bourbons, all bottled at the Dickel distillery in Tullahoma. I'm glad to see they could pull this one off, as Dickel is not to everyone's taste, but they've managed to sweeten up the normally corn-heavy whiskey with MGP, along with some spice and elegance from an 18-year-old Kentucky bourbon as well. Doesn't matter where it came from, the juice is legit. Bottled at 90 proof, the palate is nougatty soft with caramel, vanilla, and a really balanced oak profile. This is a sipper for sure at this proof. REALLY impressed with this one.
In this episode James talks about his recent aviation journey and what led to his desire to start pursuing his Private Pilot Certificate. From childhood memories of large regional air shows at THA, to day to day interactions with clients and friends in aviation, there are lots of ties to aviation. Living in Tullahoma with one of the greatest airports around, also helps a bit to nudge someone with a slight interest into pursuing more. Tullahoma Regional Airport boasts multiple runways, a skydiving center, and a first class FBO. The Beechcraft Heritage Museum sits just off the end of runway 18/36 and is probably one of the top aviation museums in the nation. Add in the Arnold Engineering Development Center Air Force Base just a few miles down the street, and you don't have to go very far to get exposed to planes, flying, and the skies. Talked a little about the -He Gets Us- thing, gave a brief report on the Allie Beth Stuckey Show from Tuesday, then dove into the Protevangelium of James and read its narrative of the birth of Christ in light of the defense of this document as containing genuine Christian tradition by Roman Catholic apologists. We then moved on to discuss The Invention of the Inspired Text by John Poirier and his actual goals in writing his book. Don't know when the next program will be as I will be heading off to Tullahoma next week for the Why Calvinism conference, a debate, etc. Watch the app for announcements-

EP 122 - Bob Trewyn, Why You SHOULDN'T Buy A Used Food Truck If you're building out a food truck, you're going to spend the same amount on your kitchen whether you upfit it into an old heap or a brand new chassis. So why invest all that money into something that could prove to be unreliable? Does that sound like a good business decision? Bob Trewyn is the Commercial Sales Manager at Russell Barnett Ford of Tullahoma and believes in commitment to his trade, to his dealer, to his manufacturer, to his product, and most of all, to his customer. He truly loves what he does, and therefore is constantly searching for the knowledge to provide his customers with a level of service that will set him apart from all others in his field. But most of all, he believes in providing his customers with the very best buying experience ever, and always being there to answer their questions and address their concerns, needs, and problems in the most professional way possible. What You Will Learn: How Bob got into the food truck slignin' business trying to convert people to build food trucks on new chassis instead of using used vehicles What exactly is the Foundation Food Truck and how does it differ from other chassis The difference between a food truck builder that's a fabricator or an assembler What makes the Foundation Food Truck easier to drive than most food trucks How going new versus used can help eliminate some hardships for food truck owners Why networking is so crucial and necessary to growing your business Favorite Quote: “They trade them in because they're worn out. Most of your used trucks are going to have anywhere from 100, 200, to 300,000 miles on them.” -Bob Trewyn Connect With Bob: BarnettFordTullahoma.net How To Get Involved: Patrick Bolanos is a serial entrepreneur, business owner, and CEO of Trailer King Builders in Houston, Texas. He was raised in Nicaragua, exposed to extreme poverty, and also had the fortune of being exposed to life in the United States traveling back and forth to both countries. After college, Patrick's career took him into the corporate world of banking where he learned the important lessons of understanding what you're selling and why it's important to believe in it. Back in December of 2017, Patrick was fired from his job as a CFO for a Restaurant Group. With only $500 to his name, rent due, his wife, 3 children at home, and one on the way, he was forced to figure out how to pull his family out of this financial abyss that was strangling his life. With no knowledge of how to build a trailer, Patrick simply figured all of it out and has now built it into the thriving empire of what's now become Trailer King Builders. LinkedIn Facebook Instagram
