I can't believe we got here! No, honestly. How did we get here? It's all been a blur. The blur of movement we made to get to episode 40. We started this podcast in August of 2021 with the vain hopes it would do "OK". I'm just happy we ended 2022 on a round number. We celebrate episode 40 looking at Jalmari Helander's RARE EXPORTS, a "rare" welcome addition to the traditional Christmas viewing year in, year out. And we celebrate with friends. A whole bunch of them in a Christmas Party setting with similar antics. There's some suspect jokes, wild views and a dude on all-fours licking people's hands. It wouldn't be Christmas without it! But really, this is a special Christmas film and well worthy of being our last coverage of the year so sit back, pull up a foot rest, grab your egg-nog and gaze into the burning trash fire. We'll see you in the New Year.

"In all the ways that we are broken, God is not that. He is completely different and BETTER than us in every way." - Bp. StevenOn this episode of the podcast, we get to hear a conversation with the Rt. Rev. Dr. Steven Tighe of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA)! Steven was recently consecrated as Bishop in the Diocese of the Southwest. Previously he served as the Canon for Youth Ministry for the Anglican Church in North America, having been involved with youth ministry since leaving college. He graduated Rice University, with two degrees in Electrical Engineering and did computer research in Austin before attending Trinity School for Ministry (TSM) and taught youth ministry there while on staff with Rock the World Youth Mission Alliance. Steven has an Mdiv from TSM and PhD from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. Steven currently lives in El Paso, TX with his wife, Tricia. Steven gets most of his exercise mountain biking in the El Paso hills. He reads a lot, plays computer games, writes songs, is an accomplished sand sculptor and has recently taken up kite surfing. During the season of Advent, we're reminded of how sacred Christmas really is - Jesus, coming to earth, God with us, so that we may have a relationship with the Father. So, how do we carry that sacredness with us for the rest of the year? Steven and I chat about what holiness is and how we trust God in the midst of difficult circumstances because of who He is. We hope this episode encourages you in your own walk with the Lord! I'm Josh Cooperman, this is Convo By Design and today we are taking a look back at some previously incredible design events. We're getting in the way-back machine and going to 2016, the Pacific Design Center for a conversation about design rebellion. Designer Resources ThermaSol - Redefining the modern shower experience. Episode 271 featuring Mitch Altman Article, great style is easy. It's the best way to buy beautiful modern furniture York Wallcoverings - Designed to inspire for over 125 years Franz Viegener - Finely crafted sculptural faucets Moya Living - Beautiful, durable powder coated kitchen, bath & outdoor kitchen cabinetry This is a look back at a conversation recorded live in the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, California in 2016. It's a very strange experience for me to rerun past episodes will including the original open. My voice changes every year, just like yours does, and while I have gotten comfortable with the recorded sound of my voice, strange cadence and often tangential leaps, it is very odd hearing these older episodes. But, I do it because I started recording these conversations in 2012 for a 2013 Convo BY Design launch. I did it because, believe it or not, when CXD began, I was the only one there to record these events like this one featuring Patrick Tighe, Cliff Fong and Eric Chang, moderated by Erika Heet. I'm glad I did, I hope you are as well. We'll get right to it right after this. Thank you to this distinguished group. Loved it even more now than I did then. Like wine, art and architecture, a good conversation only gets better with age and I am so happy that I could share it with you. Thank you to CXD partners and sponsors; ThermaSol, Article Furniture, Moya Living, York Wallcoverings and Franz Viegener. Please make sure to check the show notes for links to each of these remarkable companies. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to subscribe and listen to the show. I appreciate you. Until next week, remember why you do what you do and take today first. CXD

Investible law firms are on the not-too-distant horizon - growth is a guarantee. The consumer protection sector alone is expected to explode from $2 Billion to $4 Billion in the next two years. At Velawcity, he and his team provide case acquisition and administration services to law firms nationwide for mass tort, class action, and mass arbitration lawsuits. They have served over 250 clients and managed over 300 mass tort campaigns. What's In This Episode? Who is Tighe Wilhelmy? What systems do mass tort law firms really need? How can a firm increase the velocity of cases closed? How can a law be automated during hyper-growth to capture a larger market share? What assets should a mass tort firm be building for growth? Why are some of the best mass tort cases held close to the vest?

Posted by Adam Turteltaub The 340B program was set up to providers of care to Medicaid patients to stretch federal dollars. Hospitals and clinics are able to buy covered, outpatient drugs at a discounted price from manufacturers. As usual, though, what sounds like a simple program poses compliance risks for manufacturers and front-line providers, explains Peggy Tighe (LinkedIn) and Mark Ogunsusi (LinkedIn) of the law firm Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville PC. Providers can either pass the discounted price along to patients or dispense the drugs and get reimbursement from a private or federal payer at regular rates, using the difference to support their services. While the 340B program is designed to be flexible, there are several strings attached. Providers need to ensure that the drugs prescribed go to the patient. In addition, the individual has to meet specific guidance as to what constitutes a patient. Simply writing a prescription is not enough. A set of criteria must be met, and those rules are strict enough that an entire category of software providers has emerged to manage this issue. Other risks for providers to consider include virtual inventories and over purchasing 340B drugs For drug manufacturers, it's essential to ensure that price data is accurate, and that prices do not exceed the ceiling price. A mistake could lead to civil monetary penalties and even termination from the program. Duplicate discounts are also prohibited and pose another risk. Listen in to learn more about how to avoid the many compliance challenges of 340B drug pricing programs.

Why are you you - and why are you here? Explore the stories that shape you, change you and define you Robert Tighe leads us on the discovery of our Origin stories. As a journalist he was inspired to find and help people tell their amazing stories. (Everyone has amazing stories.) Episode 91 (Robert Tighe is based in New Zealand) In this conversation we explore: What is the origin story and why is it so important? Searching through the stages of life to find key stories The relevance of stories that shape you, change you and define you Telling good stories starts with story finding Addressing the question "why?" The relevance and danger of sharing painful stories Using story telling as a leadership and teambuilding tool About Robert Tighe Robert helps business leaders reflect on their past to create a more purposeful future. Irish born, Robert explored various pursuits before returning to his first dream of becoming a journalist. He enjoys finding and conveying stories. Learn more about Robert and book your Story Strategy call at www.RobertTighe.com Excerpts from this conversation with Robert Tighe 05:22 Robert, you you brought up Simon Sinek. And in the power of why I'm wondering how important is why in discerning one's origin story? 05:36 Yeah. I think it's really important. I think it's really key because I think the best businesses have a really authentic, why behind you know what they do. And listen, I know, there'll be some sceptics out there who feel that, you know, I sell widgets, and I make really good widgets, and I sell them for a lot of money. And I don't really care about my why. And that's fine, too, that there's that I totally understand that perspective. But I think more and more so now than ever before. You know, we're all in the people business. You know, we're all kind of that it's that horrible cliché people buy from people. But if they don't know about you as a person, then it's really hard for them to trust you, it's really hard for them to get a sense of why you or your company or your product, or your service is the right person to help them solve their problem. And I think if you can demonstrate an authentic why and the origin story isn't about making up a story here, I think it's probably good to get that across. But if you can get across your why and on in a real a very real and authentic manner. I think it just really helps you stand out from the crowd of other people, in your space, in your industry, in your sector, whatever it might be. And it's particularly important, I should add, George, if you're in any kind of business, where you're selling your expertise, right, you know, where you're in that kind of people to people type business, because, if people know your why, they can get your why then it can really kind of give them a sense of okay, yeah, this is, this is I'm in the right place here. This is the right person to help me solve my problem. 15:26 You mentioned the term that you're more of a story finder, than a storyteller. How, what are what questions do you pose to people to help them find their best stories? 15:42 Yeah, I don't know, if I have like a template of questions that I asked it is very much a conversation. And it is very much as I've talked before, about really making it easy for them by asking them to go back to you know, a few different stages in their lives, to take them back to their their, their earliest memories. One question that I love to ask people is, what is your earliest understanding our kind of realization of the concept of what you do now? So it might have been said, say the industry you're in now. Or if you're in sales, what was your very first understanding of what selling was? What was your first understanding of say what a customer was, I worked with a customer experience consultant recently who he talked to me about what he did, but he spent 20 minutes talking in jargon about UX, and CX and all these terms and acronyms. And that meant nothing to me. When I stopped and asked him to think back to his very first understanding of what a customer was, and and what a customer meant, he told me about his first job working as a paperboy during a paper round. And he realized very quickly that if he didn't get out of bed on time, the papers didn't get delivered on time, the customer wasn't happy, and his boss wasn't happy, and he didn't get paid. So see immediately kind of grasp that the customer was key. You know, from the very early ages, it was very first job, he realized that, you know, keeping the customer satisfied was the most important part of his job. And I just said, listen, that's, that's it, you've made that you're working in customer experience now. And essentially, that is still the same kind of thing that you need to focus on. Right. So in terms of questions, I think, rather than questions, it really is helping people identify stories that maybe they don't recognize the value in themselves. Because I think a lot of the time we're too close to our own stories, right. You know, we've lived with them for so long, and we kind of discount the value in them. So I think that's, that's a key part of the process. Winnipeg Police Officers have perpetual issues with driving drunk and in 2017, a handful of officers were actually arrested after they had been caught doing exactly that. None of the officers arrested received any real sort of consequence, and throughout their court proceedings they all remained employed by the WPS despite their obvious offence. The other intriguing aspect to officers caught driving under the influence in 2017, is that they were all working for the service for 15+ years, and so at this point they assumed they were immune to either getting caught drunk driving or being charged with such by a fellow officer, because they are known to protect one another rather than turn on each other. This is a two-part series where the first part was focused on Jason Garrett and Leslie McRae, the details of their cases, the final outcome, and my brief thoughts, and insights sprinkled throughout. This is the conclusion to this episode, part two, where the focus will be shifted to Andrew Tighe, Michael Richard Hawley and my final thoughts. Think about where you are stored in your brain. Your sense of self and identity, who you are basically. What if your brain decided it wanted to shut a few things down? That's what happened to ABC broadcaster Karen Tighe. As an experience sports journalist she's covered the world's biggest events with a career's worth of memories and experiences to reference. But after Karen contracted encephalitis in 2020, her brain shut off part of those memories and tried to contain her sense of self.
"I needed everything that I went through to do what I'm doing now." Join our conversation with military and police veteran turned entrepreneur business owner Chris Tighe. Although he began as an E1 right out of high school, promoted through the middle NCO ranks, and eventually received a direct commission as an officer in his late 20s. He retired as a LCDR in the United States Navy, where he supported intelligence and special operations missions in Afghanistan, Iraq, and before that, the Indo-Pacific region. He also has a decade experience in law enforcement, which included some fights with some drunk NFL players. At each step of his unique and storied government career, Chris took jobs that no one else wanted to do with the faith that he would help people and learn something useful for the future. He left his government job with the regular, predictable paychecks and entered the business without a net. He started his own business. He owns and operates a small business, a property management company called Pacific Rim Property Management. The Republican Professor is a business-friendly podcast that appreciates military and police service. Welcome, Chris Tighe !
