In Show Notes this week for From The Top!'s coverage of Violet, Steven and Mary have a few thoughts hotter than a stuffy bus ride through the south or a tent filled with faithful hopefuls on a hot summer day. Notes From a Director finds that our duo skipped a page and needs to circle back to some content on some major tread lightly topics. Actor's Nightmare brings up some hard-hitting finds they weren't able to discuss within these characters, and Mary and Steven talk about some repercussions of actions as well that drive our plot harder than the 7 rotating bus drivers. Quick Cast has Stevens's head rolling with choices for modern casting. What If? changes a plot point that flips this story on a new trajectory, and even starts a conspiracy theory. Make sure to use the restroom and grab a bag of candy, cause the bus is leaving with or without you as Mary and Steven enjoy another hilarious discussion over a heartfelt and wonderful musical. "I'm sorry. There were no survivors." Nancy Saltzman tried to absorb the caller's words. Her entire family had perished in a small plane crash. The caller was wrong, though. There was a survivor—Nancy would have to go on living. She had beaten cancer twice, but how could even the most resilient spirit live through this ultimate loss? Nancy shares her struggle as she overcame despair through a deep sense of purpose—learning that through time, friendship, and love, the heart can make room for both loved ones lost and happiness found. With the added richness and insights of letters Saltzman received, as well as her sons' journal entries, Radical Survivor (Nancy's book) traverses the full spectrum of human emotions, offering a compelling gift of hope. At this point, I think most of us have heard of the newest KPop survival show: BOYS PLANET. (Most likely because of TikToks from the bad auditions and, y'all, they're true.) If you're on the fence about trying it out, this Through Two will help you get a better grip on what the show is like! Heads up: Maddie frickin loves shows like this, so she's all in, but she also has LOTS of questions because this whole thing is also kind of a hot mess. LOL. This week, I have a very special guest. Her name is Becky Savage. She is nationally known as the Founder of the 525 Foundation. Her non-profit was created to honor her two sons that passed away on June 14, 2015 from unintentional overdose after going to graduation parties. You can find videos of their story, interviews, speeches and news coverage here. She lives right here in Northern Indiana and we first met seven years ago, actually the first time she spoke publicly about it. Their foundation has a simple mission: to educate teens and families and raise awareness about the dangers of alcohol and prescription drug misuse and abuse. What happened to her is what no one expects happen in their community, let alone their own home. A tragedy to say the least. But in the wake of her immense loss, she has become a beacon of light in our area and other communities. She has taken what life handed her and has used it for good. Listen to this week's interview and find out: what happened how she got through her grief (and continues to) how the foundation got started How our kids get a hold of the drugs how we can talk them about opioids and binge drinking This was a very real conversation that will make you want to have real conversations with your loved ones. You don't want to miss it. If you've got kids who are smoking marijuana (and they think you know it or not), or binge drink on college campuses - you will want to listen to this. Even if you are one of those young people who is partaking in any of it, I recommend listening so you can get a very realistic perspective of what could happen. I appreciate Becky's candidness in this interview and her willingness to show up to honor her two boys, to love on her two boys who are still here, and to be an example to the rest of us of what we can do when this kind of thing happens in our community, or our family. 300 people a day means it will come pretty close. So don't miss this. I pray it blesses you and that you pass it along to everyone you know because it's incredibly important for our next generation.

How many people choose adoption, while single in their twenties? I would imagine, not many. And to have the boys be age 3 and age 4. That is a true baptism into parenting. This isn't a calling for everyone, but it was a calling for Holland Webb. You will hear how the loss of his own Father at an early age affected him, and how this whole adoption and parenting experience has affected his heart and faith. His life mission and his road to personal redemption are remarkable and relatable. What's scarier than being super horny? Nothing if you ask me, the guy writing this. It's a sinful pastime and should be discussed with pastor asap. It's Two Boys in a Balcony and we're talking what might be the horniest horror comedy of all time, the Witches of Eastwick, a film in which three of the most beautiful women of all time all supernaturally fight over who gets to bang Jack Nicholson. Well, I'm packin up my game and I'ma head out west, where real women come equipped wit' scripts and fake breasts. Find a nest in the hills, chill like flynt. Buy an old drop-top, find a spot to pimp. Then I'ma Two Boys in a Balcony-it up and down ya' block, With a bottle of scotch and watch lotsa crotch. Buy a yacht with a flag sayin' "chillin' the most." Then rock that bitch up and down the coast. Yee-haw motherfathers! This week on the Balcony, we're talking scumbag classic Midnight Cowboy, the only X-rated film to ever win Best Picture and boy howdy is it scummy? I don't know about this one. You're telling me a cowboy is gonna midnight? Come on. Anywho grab a bus ticket to Florida and cuddle a corpse cause it's Two Boys in a Balcony.
The boys finally address Brandon cutting a remote episode short because he had to take a dump in a 711 cup in his truck, a woman hospitalized for holding in farts, and a man who shot off his own penis breaking into cars
It's a real special edition of Two Boys in a Balcony as America's Dumbest Film Critics, Bill and Sean, are joined by an actual young person with thoughtful, articulate critiques and reviews of the art of cinema who doesn't think Lawrence of Arabia is "too fucking long" or "stupid." That's right! It's actor, comedian, raconteur, man with the lumberjack hands, Will Martin! Will stops by the balcony to discuss the 2022 Academy Awards nominees as we gear up for the big game on Sunday night! It's the Super Bowl of Film except without a lot of the excitement, suspense, and drama of football because we've just gone through two months of precursor awards that make the winners on Sunday somewhat inevitable to us (film journalists) but maybe not to you (regular normals). Will Sean stick to his guns and go with West Side Story down the line? Will Will make a very moving defense of Licorice Pizza that will get shot down by two fat old guys going, "He's a child" over and over like Mark Ruffalo in Spotlight? Will Bill prove that he has any range as an actor and cast aside his Boston accent to try and sound like he's from Minnesota? All of these questions and more will be answered over a very chaotic and potentially unlistenable two hours! Enjoy!
