There's nothing quite like a big trade in the hours leading up to the new episode of Better Lait Than Never to liven up the podcast, amirite? Today, Ken Holland pulled the trigger on a trade that saw the Oilers send out their first (2024), fourth (2025), and fifth-round (2025) picks in exchange for Adam Henrique, Sam Carrick, a seventh-round pick, and Ty Taylor, and I want to talk about it.Before we got to the trade talk, I had to walk through a few different things first, including the amazing Brunch for Ben that happened last weekend and Greta and the bonus episode of BLTN that I recorded with Dooks. For my money, Dooks' visit to town went about as well as it possibly could have, and I was very grateful to be able to spend a little bit of time with him. I was also happy that he was able to attend the Brunch for Ben that happened on Saturday, marking the first Nation event he was able to attend as well.Turning the podcast back to the Oilers, how could I not start with the massive trade that happened this afternoon? The Oilers sent out three picks—a first, fourth, and fifth—to acquire Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick at 75% retained while also grabbing a seventh-rounder and depth goalie as add-ins. While I personally like this trade a whole lot, it wasn't surprising to see how many Oilers fans were left wanting after the team spent its best trade chip on a middle-six forward and depth centreman.Lastly, I wrapped up this week's podcast with a little bit of betting talk for our friends at Bet99, played a guest RSB from Nick, and capped things off with another round of voicemails that ranged from Oilers talk to reality TV to anything else that was on your mind. Once again, this podcast never ceases to make me laugh, and I'm so very grateful for the levels of participation by the wonderful BLTN community that keep moving this show forward.Oh, and subscribe to my YouTube channel.Want to leave a voicemail for next week's show? The UEFA Champions League final is this weekend, but for Paris Saint-Germain supporters, the biggest trophy was won over the weekend. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Ty Taylor, James Teague, and Guillaume Delaporte to discuss to incredible turn of events that led to Kylian Mbappé turning down a chance to play for Real Madrid and instead, signing a new contract with PSG until 2025. We begin the show by asking the panel to share their initial thoughts on Mbappé's decision and what it means for PSG and Ligue 1 to have arguably the best player in the world staying in his home country of France. I also deliver a hot take that Mbappé was never really considering Real Madrid and went out of his way to troll their fans and the Spanish media. Next, I ask the panel why they think Mbappé decided to remain in the French capital. Was his decision based purely on money, as so many in the media have stated, or does he simply have a deep love for his home country and the city where he was born? We also discuss how Real Madrid fans reacted to the news, La Liga's threat to take legal action against PSG, and whether the Spanish champions would ever welcome Mbappé in the future if he wanted to come. While we don't have the official figures and terms of his contract, it's been reported that Mbappé will have a say in the sporting project at PSG. We debate whether this is a good thing for the club considering Neymar Jr. has had similar power in the past and that hasn't led to Champions League glory. Other topics we cover in the podcast include PSG's summer plans, changes in the hierarchy, and whether Mbappé does need to leave the French point at some point in his career to test himself against tougher competition. Paris Saint-Germain claimed its tenth Ligue 1 title in club history, but for supporters, this supposed dream season has been a nightmare. On the latest PSG Talking podcast, Ty Taylor hosts and he's joined by French football expert, PSG fan, and CBS Sports Golazo correspondent, Jonathan Johnson, to discuss PSG's season, the unbalanced squad made worse by big-name signings, potential replacements for Mauricio Pochettino, and so much more! Up first, Ty and Jonathan discuss PSG's historic French league victory, in which they tied AS Saint-Étienne for the most ever. Is the title something worth celebrating or has the failure in the UEFA Champions League overshadowed the accomplishment? Next, the duo breaks down PSG's unbalanced squad in which even the signing of Lionel Messi is questioned. Compared to an overdecorated Christmas tree by Jonathan, how could Mauricio Pochettino fail to put out an entertaining product on the pitch with so many stars at his disposal? Speaking of Pochettino, it's almost certain that he will be dismissed after the season and Ty asks Jonathan who could realistically replace him. Zinedine Zidane is a popular choice, but his Marseille roots and desire to manage the France national team may remove him from the running. Could another former player, Thiago Motta, take over for the Argentine? One player who will certainly be watching the managerial situation is Kylian Mbappé, who only has a month left on his contract and has yet to officially announce whether he'll sign an extension and remain in Paris, or leave for Real Madrid. Other topics covered in this episode include whether or not Leonardo, PSG's sporting director, will be dismissed and possible replacements, potential summer transfer targets, and why PSG must focus more on the sporting project and less on marketing opportunities. As always, thank you for listening, and be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts. We're also on Discord! This week we tackle two themes with our guest, writer, and reality tv producer Jeanette Scherrer. First, we go deep into an example of a rare Oates-fronted song, Possession Obsession. We consider the musical influences, lyrical meanings, and the surprisingly progressive depictions of NYC at night through the eyes of Oates as a taxi driver. We also look at Daryl Hall's two endeavors in reality TV, focusing on an episode of Live from Daryl's House featuring Vintage Trouble's lead vocalist, Ty Taylor.

We're in the thick of the international break and if you're like me, you're counting down the days until Paris Saint-Germain is back in action. Luckily, we have something to help you get through the next few days. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Guillaume Delaporte and Ty Taylor to discuss the fallout of Kylian Mbappé's interviews with RMC Sport and L'Equipe. There's also the interview Mbappé's mother gave to Le Parisien that seemed to contradict some of what the PSG star said. Up first, we dive into the comments from Mbappé, which are nicely summarized by Sporting News. We learned that the player did ask to leave PSG and that the only club he has eyes for is Real Madrid. Guillaume and Ty give their thoughts on the situation and hypothesize how Mbappé's comments might have been received by Nasser Al-Khelaifi, PSG's president, and Leonardo, PSG's sporting director. The Mbappé contract saga has been lingering for at least a year, if not longer, and his comments cleared up a lot of confusion supporters have regarding timing and what has really been offered to him. He also confirmed he said some not-so-nice things about Neymar Jr., which we also discuss. Looking ahead though, the footballing world is still unsure of what Mbappé will do, and his mother only complicated things late last week. In an interview with Le Parisien, Fayza Lamari told the publication (via ESPN) that "we are talking right now with PSG and all is well. I spoke last night with Leonardo. Will we reach a solution? One thing is clear. [Mbappé] is going to give everything until the end to win the UEFA Champions League." As we discuss on the show, Mbappé's decision will likely come down to PSG's performance this season and also Real Madrid's. If the France international clicks with Neymar and Lionel Messi and PSG win the Champions League, he may extend for another two years. If the super team implodes and Real Madrid looks like the better project, Mbappé will likely bolt on a free transfer next summer. We conclude the Mbappé segment by putting a percentage on whether he will sign an extension with PSG and whether the supporters will boo him at the Parc des Princes. Getting away from the Mbappé drama for a second, there was some monumental news in the world of football. Newcastle United FC has new owners! Much like PSG with Qatar Sports Investments, Newcastle will be majority-owned by an investment fund (Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, or PIF). How will this change the landscape of football and should PSG be worried about competition from Newcastle in the transfer market? Paris Saint-Germain finally has its most complete squad of the Qatar Sports Investments era, but supporters will have to wait to see how all of the pieces come together because it's international break time! Luckily, we have just the thing to pass the time. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Ty Taylor, Matt Gooding, and later in the show, Carl-Oscar Källström joins all the way from the Swedish wilderness. The panel of esteemed PSG experts shares their thoughts on the Kylian Mbappé transfer saga, the arrival of Nuno Mendes, missing out on Eduardo Camavinga, and potential formations Mauricio Pochettino could deploy this season. Up first though, it's all about Mbappé for the first half of the show. With Real Madrid rumored to have offered €200 million for the 22-year-old who will be out of contract at the end of the season, we're left to wonder if this was all a waste of time and a PR exercise from Los Blancos. We also debate whether PSG can convince Mbappé to sign an extension or if they'll regret not accepting an offer for their most prized asset. We also spend a few minutes discussing PSG's new left-back, Mendes, from Sporting CP. While we admittedly know very little about him as a player, the highlights on YouTube have us very excited. One player who didn't arrive in Paris was Eduardo Camavinga from Stade Rennais. The 18-year-old midfielder made the move to Real Madrid and we discuss why PSG didn't push harder for one of the most promising youngsters in world football. We wrap up the show by discussing the optimal formation for PSG this season with everyone agreeing that three-at-the-back is the way to go. We also answer a few questions sent in via the PSG Talk Discord server, including why Real Madrid fans are so awful. How To Become A Rockstar Photographer Podcast with Matthias Hombauer
I’m excited because today´s guest is the singer of Vintage Trouble Ty Taylor. I first met the band in the backstage area of the Ottawa Blues Festival back in 2014 when I was touring with Shantel. Then I was working with VT on stage in the front of 120 000 people when they were playing as support act of AC/DC in Austria and I got one of my most favorite shots from this memorable event. I wanted to have a look behind the curtains of a raising Rockband such as Vintage Trouble. How is it to become a star overnight (cause this is what happened)? How can someone personally deal with these challenges? In order to learn more about it, I got in contact with Ty and ask him to be a guest on my show. Fortunately, he agreed and I caught him in the backstage area of a venue in Milwaukee, minutes before they hit the stage. In this interview, we're going to talk about how everything started for Vintage Trouble, his personal view on life, the importance of building a community and why he appreciates the work of concert photographers.
