We travel back to Minnesota in 1912 to discover the tragic case of a young woman slain just yards from home: so close to safety, yet so far from salvation. She was popular and hardworking, with a loving, happy family, and no enemies. So how was it possible that a man confessed multiple times to killing 21-year-old Alice Matthews, but nobody was ever taken to trial? Thanks for listening! There was some big Disney Broadway news this week with the announcement that Frozen will not be reopening on Broadway and that Hamilton will be coming to Dinsey+ on July 3rd Disney’s Frozen has become Broadway’s first long-running casualty of the COVID-19 pandemic and industrywide shutdown. The production, which opened March 22, 2018, at the St. James Theatre, announced today that it will not return when Broadway reopens — whenever that might be. In the closure announcement, producers said the musical will not re-open “as a result of the industry-wide shutdown and resulting economic fallout.” The production’s final performance was Wednesday March 11, having played 825 performances and 26 previews. “In the summer of 2013 when Frozen began its road to Broadway,” said Thomas Schumacher, President & Producer Disney Theatrical Productions, “two things were unimaginable: that we’d soon have five productions worldwide, and a global pandemic would so alter the world economy that running three Disney shows on Broadway would become untenable. www.ObscureDisneyPodcast.com www.DisneyPatch.com www.Obscuri-D.com

It’s been quite a week, right? We’ve got quarantines and Covid19 and working from home and it almost feels like we’re waking up in a different world every day. The day I recorded this intro, Wednesday March 25, 2020, I did wake up to a different world when I woke to the news that the man we call Dad, Crazy Larry or Yosemite Sam had died at home during the night. He had not been well for a long time and this wasn’t exactly unexpected, but it also wasn’t exactly expected either. Ironically today’s show was going to be a continuation of last week’s episode which was called Yosemite Sam’s Daughters Don’t Take No Guff. God had no regard for his offering, and it could be that it was rejected because it was a bloodless offering. However, God does specifically state this as the reason for His rejection, and offerings from the ground were perfectly acceptable for certain types of offerings in Israel years later, however, these offerings were always associated with blood offerings. Some theology emphasizes Cain's attitude while others emphasize the offering itself. What is clear is that there was something wrong with Cain's inner man. Cain's offering, even if it was the wrong one, was rejected because he had no regard for God. This is made clear by his response to... for full notes: http://www.cgtruth.org/index.php?proc=msg&sf=vw&tid=2206

Universities are extending their 2 week remote study status until the end of the semester and many are extending it through the summer.  With students gone from campus and the leasing season in full swing, property managers are scrambling to figure out how to reach students and making sure the right message is communicated during these unprecedented circumstances.   In this special episode of the Student Housing Insight podcast, Wes & Gretta go through several guidelines of how properties should be pivoting their marketing expenses to better reach students where they are.  We also sit down with Michael Newton, founder of Swarm, to discuss how to use Brand Ambassadors when students are back at their permanent addresses.  Nay Cook, CEO at Resident Reach, also gives us some quick tips on how to make sure your property videos are engaging and sending the right message during this time.   This episode is sponsored by uForis VR.  To sign up for their special “Scan it Yourself” 3D tour, click here:  https://www.studenthousinginsight.com/uforis-covid19 Click below to register for Student Housing Business’ webinar on COVID-19’s Impact on Student Housing on Wednesday March 25th at 1PM Eastern: https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/8900907672305683213   Referenced Resources: SWARM Co; www.swarm.co Email Michael Newton at m@swarm.co   Resident Reach;  www.myresidentreach.com Free Toolkit and schedule an appointment:  www.free.myresidentreach.com InShot App: iOS:  https://apps.apple.com/us/app/inshot-video-editor/id997362197 Android:  https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.camerasideas.instashot&hl=en_US

Normally, Reported, a podcast of the Santa Fe Reporter, is only published once a week. But considering the rapidly increasing number of COVID-19 cases  in New Mexico, we have decided to make more frequent special episodes as things evolve.  Today at noon, Wednesday March 18, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham took the podium in the state House chambers in front of a small handful of journalists and staffers to go over new orders that affect the entire state. They include restrictions on buying essentials at grocery stores and curtailing restaurant service to carry-out only. The governor also updated the number of positive test results  here in New Mexico.

But the word of God is not bound! Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. The saying is trustworthy, for:If we have died with him, we will also live with him;if we endure, we will also reign with him;if we deny him, he also will deny us;if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.Holy Gospel – Mark 14:26–31, 66–72And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. And Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’ But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee.” Peter said to him, “Even though they all fall away, I will not.” And Jesus said to him, “Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” But he said emphatically, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” And they all said the same. And as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came, and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “You also were with the Nazarene, Jesus.” But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you mean.” And he went out into the gateway and the rooster crowed. And the servant girl saw him and began again to say to the bystanders, “This man is one of them.” But again he denied it. And after a little while the bystanders again said to Peter, “Certainly you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.” But he began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear, “I do not know this man of whom you speak.” And immediately the rooster crowed a second time. And Peter remembered how Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” And he broke down and wept.

This is Coronavirus 411, the latest COVID-19 info… Just the facts… for Wednesday March 18th, 2020. Over 1,000 cases of COVID-19 were reported in the U.S. yesterday, bringing the total to over 6,000 with more than 110 fatalities. West Virginia and The U.S. Virgin Islands confirm their first cases of the virus. Kansas has closed schools for the remainder of the school year. California will likely follow suit. Sonoma County joined 7 other Northern California counties in requiring residents to shelter in place, bringing the total to 8 million. New York City is considering a similar action. The FDA is stressing that there are NO food shortages and Americans should only buy enough food for the week ahead. The White House submitted an additional 45.8 billion in emergency funding to Congress on top of the 8.3 billion Congress approved earlier this month. Treasury Secretary Mnuchin relayed, that tax payments up to 1 million dollars can be deferred for 90 days. The Secretary also said, the White House is talking with Congress about sending checks to U.S. citizens to cushion the economic blow of the virus. As global cases near 200,000, a number of restrictions are being put in place to control the spread. All non-essential travel to the European Union has been banned for 30 days. Australia has declared a “Human biosecurity emergency”, which include a “do not travel” alert. Belgium residents are asked to stay home and limit contact with others. The Philippines have declared a “state of calamity” for 6 months, this will open up emergency funding. U.S./Canada border crossing limits are expected. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.Second Reading -- Mark 13:32–37“But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come. It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to stay awake. Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the cock crows, or in the morning— lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake.”Holy Gospel - Mark 14:32–42And they went to a place called Gethsemane. And he said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” And he took with him Peter and James and John, and began to be greatly distressed and troubled. And he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death. Remain here and watch.” And going a little farther, he fell on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” And he came and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, “Simon, are you asleep? Could you not watch one hour? Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” And again he went away and prayed, saying the same words. And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy, and they did not know what to answer him. And he came the third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? It is enough; the hour has come. The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us be going; see, my betrayer is at hand.”
