Natilie Queiroz’s life changed in a 9 minute span on Friday March 4th 2016. Eight months pregnant Natalie was standing in broad daylight near a busy suburban centre when she was stabbed 24 times with a 12 inch carving knife. She suffered horrific life-critical wounds to her major organs and main arteries. After heroic intervention by passers-by and police, an air ambulance rescue was launched, and against all medical odds, Natalie and her baby survived – but not without life-changing physical and emotional damage. In the four years since the attack, Natalie has started up two businesses – Natalie Q Inspire Ltd where she works as a motivational speaker and consultant and Inspire 2 Quit Blades, a Community Interest Company that focuses on tackling the rising epidemic in knife crime through sharing her experience as the victim to ‘at risk’ youth groups. Her best selling book, Still Standing, documents the before, during as well as the important rebuild of her life. As remote work is on the rise and companies respond to the threat of COVID-19, why do companies leave critical business functions out of their continuity and disaster recovery plans? Banking technology FinTech Finastra was forced to shutter key systems and send employees home Friday March 20th, after a security breach of unknown origin. With a fast spreading virus like covid-19 people are slowly moving away from anything that is potentially contaminated, including paper checks and Cards, and moving to touch-free options.
One of the things I’ve learned over the years is to surround yourself with the best in the industry and Daniel Patton is just that! A partner of Smart Home Choice, Daniel has been a mortgage agent for over 18+ years with a personal ranking of 17th across Canada for 2019 with Butler Mortgages (who recently ranked #1)... now that’s impressive! On this Podcast we discuss the current market conditions, the major changes the Bank of Canada has introduced and is now the right time to refinance? and so much more. Learn from the best to be the best! What you'll learn Why variable rate mortgages are lower than fixed right now What happened on Friday March 13th! Why prime rate dropped 1% in one week Why prime - X% discounts are being removed for most new mortgages Why Prime +40 might cheaper than Prime -40! Why fixed rate mortgages are more expensive right now due to risk Why the Bank of Canada rate is dropping yet some mortgages are going UP due to the bond market Rates are only one factor in a mortgage - features, options and more are important too As debt grows governments will have to prop up the system to avoid a collapse Why B lenders are financing 75% not 80% at the moment Why A & B lenders have different qualification rules regarding income Why brokers can ‘get creative’ with income How is Genworth, a mortgage insurance company handling layoffs How temporary and potentially permanent layoffs are affecting approvals Why you do your homework and prepare questions before contacting a mortgage agent Why you shouldn’t Google interest rates, as they are many factors that influence rates Why investors sacrifice rate for options by choosing a lender Is now a good time to refinance your mortgage? It depends on mortgage type, renewal date & penalty Will Lines of Credit be more restricted? Should you take advantage of the mortgage deferral? How is the deferral structured and will it affect your credit? Documentation is key to assist your broker or lender - bank balances, investment statements, RRSPs, etc Why you should provide your lender with an overall plan to assist with lending And MORE! Bio Daniel Patton has worked in the mortgage business for over 18 years and has established himself as one of the top mortgage agents in Canada. Along with his business partner Dave Butler of Butler Mortgages, Daniel has helped grow Butler Mortgage into the number 1 brokerage for investors by working closely with his clients on a day to day basis. Whether it be a self-employed investor, first time investor or seasoned veteran looking for ways to acquire more properties, Daniel and his team have years of experience planning and strategically helping investors from all areas both inside and outside of Ontario. "Investors, much like houses come in all different shapes and sizes, we must adapt to their situation and find ways to get approvals. Not every situation is alike and some require more time and patience, we strive on putting together a plan and working closely with our investors and love helping them achieve their financial goals and freedom." Daniel was Ranked as the #17 mortgage broker in Canada in 2019 by CMP Magazine and along with his team of investor savvy mortgage experts, they look to build on what is already been an amazing journey. This week Earl and Jurek play Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse on the Sega Genesis! The game turns out to be pretty great! It looks gorgeous, it controls well, and the difficulty seems to be just right! If the guys had to make one complaint, it might be that the music is just a little lackluster, but it's still quite serviceable! Come have a drink with us! Cheers! NOTE: This episode was recorded on Friday March 20, 2020. This was about a half a week before the Minnesota governor gave the stay-at-home order, so Jurek and I are recording in the same space for this one. Maybe it wasn't the smartest thing to do, but we both seem to be doing just fine. This episode is a little longer than normal, as we discuss the world events for quite some time. All episodes from here on out were/will be recorded from our separate homes, at least until the stay-at-home order is lifted. We really hope you all are taking care of yourselves and staying smart and staying healthy. Thanks for listening, Revelers!

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all our lives in a very short period of time. It has also led to extremely uncertain economic times prompting congress to pass major tax laws that have far reaching impact and has kept Tom’s phone ringing non stop for the past two weeks. Although Tom couldn't be on the show today, he was kind enough to share his wisdom and wants to thank each and every one of his clients for being so patient and understanding as he and his team experience longer than expected turn-around time for tax work and other client requests while responding to these emergencies, mobilize their workforce to work from home and continue to work diligently to meet the needs of their clients. He also stated “These are certainly trying times for all of us. Your continued support is noticed and appreciated.” Tom summarized some key aspects of the recent tax legislation and added some of his commentary that you may find helpful. Please remember that this situation is rapidly evolving, and the bulk of the legislation you’re about to hear was passed on Friday March 27, 2020, leaving many unanswered questions. This week Earl and Jurek are joined by their friend Andrew and the three of them play Fester's Quest on the NES! This game was recommended by Andrew due to his nostalgia for the game! As you can imagine, the guys have a pretty tough go at it, considering this game is notoriously hard! While they don't get very far, the game turns out to be rather enjoyable once you figure out what to do! Come have a drink with us! Cheers! NOTE: This episode was recorded on Friday March 6, 2020. This was just before the shit hit the fan, so to speak, regarding the Coronavirus, at least in Minnesota. I'm not sure we even mention the virus in this episode. A couple other episodes were recorded in between and will be released very soon, in which we do talk about it. All this to say we hope all you Reveler's and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy out there. Apologies for the few week lapse in episodes coming out. Obviously, things got a little crazy with work and life due to the virus. But we are back, and Jurek and I have found a way to continue doing the podcast from quarantine, so we won't be going anywhere! Thanks for listening, Reveler's! ~Earl

In this episode recorded on Friday March 20th 2020, we address the current reality head on, AND use some historical context to discuss when we expect to see a rebound in franchise growth. Obviously we have never before seen a crisis quite like this. However, we do have multiple crisis over the past four decades that have rocked the franchise world and sown massive unpredictability. Thus, we know how markets react to recessions and uncertainty. Using that context as a basis (and also looking at the COVID-19 numbers across the globe as this pandemic spreads with certain countries being affected months ahead of others)... we can rub the crystal ball and make some predictions. In this episode we address: -What is happening -How long do we think it will last and when do we think we will see growth again -What industries will bounce back -Who will not bounce back -What does a "survival plan" look like -Why its important to spend time on your long term strategy too -What is PE thinking -The effect on the workforce -The silver lining in all of this madness -What cultures will thrive -The global impact -And much more Source for the numbers cited in the podcast: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ Audio Engineer: Ben Kliever: dbkliever@gmail.com Please subscribe and share with your friends and colleagues! THE PETE SANTILLI SHOW Episode #1837 - Friday - March 13, 2020 - 6PM Live Broadcast Link: https://youtu.be/pJrpRJkk3Mk What The Government Will Never Tell You About Total Systemic Collapse - #1837 6PM During these early stages of the global pandemic, the government's job is to calm fears and make everyone feel confident in the government's ability to manage crisis. Unfortunately, people would not remain calm or confident if the government actually told them the truth: The U.S. Government's resources and capabilities are not infinite, and they know it. There's a point where a crisis far surpasses the government's ability to maintain order & security, and it happens much faster than most people could imagine. What The Government Will Never Tell You About Total Systemic Collapse – E-Militia News http://ow.ly/BZ9W30qpFma Special Appearance: Mike Adams - Mike Adams, the "Health Ranger," is an outspoken consumer health advocate, award-winning investigative journalist, internet activist and science lab director. He is the founder and editor of NaturalNews.com, the internet's most-trafficked natural health news website. Guest: Deanna Lorraine as a popular political commentator, YouTube Host, Author and Host of her show Winning The Culture War with DeAnna Lorraine. As an outspoken advocate for men and critic of modern feminism, she also hosted a Tribute to Men Rally in Washington DC earlier this year. She vows to continue to champion men’s, father’s and family issues that she says have been ignored. Deanna is running against Nancy Pelosi in one of the most historically blue districts in America, and sees as her mission of taking the message of family values and the American dream straight to Nancy’s doorstep. Her campaign slogan – “God, Family, Country” – is already considered “brazen” by many progressives and is shaking things up in liberal California. Jelly Donut Podcast #21 was recorded on Friday March 13, 2020. Mark B. Spiegel is the Managing Member & Portfolio Manager of Stanphyl Capital Partners and is a New York-based equity investor. Prior to founding Stanphyl in 2011, he spent six years as an investment banker (most recently as a Principal with Piper Jaffray & Co.) financing public companies. Prior to becoming an investment banker Mark spent a year working for a microcap Nasdaq tech company, and he began his career with 17 years in the commercial real estate industry where he experienced firsthand the opportunities and challenges faced by a wide array of client companies. Mark believes that all these experiences– banking public companies, working for a public company and securing real estate for a wide variety of companies– combine to provide the kind of “real world” experience that’s extremely useful for an investor. https://twitter.com/markbspiegel --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jellydonutpodcast/support
