Sixteen-year-old Timothy “Jack” McCoy spent Christmas 1971 with his relatives in Michigan, leaving on January 2, 1972, to return home to Nebraska. After arriving in Chicago for a bus connection, he met a man who offered him food and a tour of the city. Timothy accepted, but he would never be seen alive again. On a cold fall morning in October 1978, near Rock Rapids, Iowa, a crew burying telephone cables made the grim discovery of a young woman's body hidden in an overgrown ditch off Highway 182. With no identification found at the scene, the woman was immediately classified as a Jane Doe. For 27 years, Jane Doe lay beneath a gravestone reading "Unknown Female" before she finally reclaimed her name: Wilma June Nissen. Through the 1970s and 1980s, Mary Joe Frug was a well-respected and prominent law academic. As a part of the Critical Legal Studies movement, she looked to analyse the legal system from a feminist perspective. On the evening of April 4th 1991, the 49-year-old was walking to a convenience store in an upmarket neighbourhood in Cambridge, Massachusetts, when she was set upon and viciously stabbed to death. A man in his early twenties was seen fleeing from the scene but has never been identified. Investigators were baffled regarding a motive and could not determine if the slaying had been a random act or if Mary Joe had been specifically targeted. On Sunday June 17, 2024, Jay Slater, a 19-year-old bricklayer’s apprentice who lived in Lancashire, England was on his first ever foreign holiday. And he seemed to be having a blast. He had gone to the island of Tenerife in Spain with a female friend named Lucy and a guy named Brad. That night he and Lucy went out to a music festival called New Rave Generation. It was held at Papagayo Beach Club, along a strip called Veronica’s Strip that has a ton of nightclubs and neon signs. It was there he met two British men and somehow they made a plan to go on to their Airbnb. The next morning, Lucy got one last frantic call from Jay just after 8 am, saying he was lost, didn’t know where he was, and was panicked. He never showed up again. So was Jay kidnapped and murdered, did he wander off into the wilderness or did something else happen to him? This case is wild. William Friedkin's film The Exorcist terrified audiences upon its release in 1973. They fainted, vomited, and went into hysterics in the theaters. Some overwhelmed viewers left early, only to return the next day, buying another ticket to see if they could make it to the end. On Monday September 30, 2004, 18-year-old college student Brittany Phillips was found dead in her apartment in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a student at Tulsa Community College, went to her evening chemistry class with her friend Lydia. She was found lying next to her bed. Clothing was found scattered all around her in a haphazard way, and the balcony doors to her second floor apartment were open. Investigators believed she had been dead for at least a couple of days. News reports said that she had been raped, and strangled, but he medical examiner’s report stated that there was no definitive evidence of sexual assault. What happened to Brittany Phillips? On April 15, 1975, Melanie "Suzy" Cooley left Nederland High School where she was a senior. She was last seen hitchhiking in Nederland. A road maintenance worker found her body on May 2, 1975, in Coal Creek Canyon. Cooley was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue jean jacket with an embroidered eagle on the back and tan-colored boots. In July 2021, Katie and Bowie were taking  a late-night walk through Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia.   This was their routine as Katie worked as a bartender. When Katie did not arrive as scheduled to pick up her partner Emma from work, Emma set out to look for her.  She used a phone tracking app and discovered that Katie's phone was in Piedmont Park.  Emma went to the park and there she discovered the lifeless bodies of both Katie and Bowie.   Katie had been brutally stabbed to death - she had 50 stab wounds to her face, neck and torso.  The letters F A T had also been carved into her body. Now, four years later, the murders of Katie and Bowie remain unsolved.  A $25,000 reward is being offered for information in the case. Hannah Williams, a 78-year-old widow, lived with her daughter, Elizabeth, in an isolated cottage six miles from Cardiff. On the morning of Saturday November 10th 1900, Elizabeth walked to market to sell produce from their smallholding. Hannah stayed behind, busying herself with some household chores. When Elizabeth returned that afternoon she was met by neighbours on the road who informed her that Hannah was dead. This had not been due to natural causes or even an accident, but by bloody violence. Hannah had been bludgeoned with a coal hammer and her throat slashed while darning a sock in her own kitchen. At 1:40 AM on Saturday, September 28, 1974, police got a call about a traffic accident on State Highway 77 in Crittenden County Arkansas, three miles north of the Lake David Overpass. When they got there they found a 1964 Chevrolet which was stopped in the southbound lane of the highway. Near the abandoned car in a ditch, they found the body of 35-year-old Fred New Jr., a married father of three who worked the night shift at a local trucking company. Fred had been shot, three times, at very close range, with a shotgun. He had been shot in the neck, the side and the elbow. His shoes and socks had been removed and he had no identification. His pockets were turned out and the money he had on him which according to his wife was around $200, had been stolen. There was blood in the front of the car. Fred was lying in a pool of blood near the back of the vehicle - so either his killer or killers threw him out of the car, or he stumbled out after being shot and his killer fired the final shot or shots outside the car. Police got the call about Fred’s car after another driver ran into it, as it was stalled on the highway. But that driver fled the scene. And then, near where Fred’s body was found, police learned that a local gas station had been robbed. So they had a robbery, a hit-and-run, and a brutal execution style murder - all in the same night in the same small town. On June 27, 2000, Magi Bish drove her 16-year-old daughter, Molly Bish, to her summer lifeguarding job at Comins Pond in Warren, Massachusetts. Molly, the youngest in a close-knit family with her parents Magi and John, sister Heather, and brother John Jr., had started her new job eight days prior. A bright, athletic, and social teen, Molly had just been to her first prom, was on the honor roll, and played multiple sports. Her parents had relocated to Warren from Detroit, believing it was a safe place to raise a family. The day before Molly vanished, Magi noticed a mustached man in a white sedan staring at Molly in the pond's parking lot. Though he didn’t act overtly threatening, Magi felt uneasy enough to wait until he left. On June 27, she didn’t see him and felt reassured.
