Cynthia Erivo, a queer woman, just starred as Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar. Culture is calling it powerful and revolutionary. I'm calling it what it is: blasphemy. In this video, I break down the dangerous theology of Jesus Christ Superstar, why Hollywood loves to rewrite Jesus, and how feminism, queer ideology, and progressive theology have hijacked the gospel for their own agenda. This isn't about race or sexuality… it's about truth. God will not be mocked. Jesus is not a character. He is the risen King, and He's coming back.       -       Follow me on Instagram: @AngelamarieScafidi       -       Ways to Support the Show:

Matthew presents Jesus Christ as the Jesus as the Mashiach Nagid, the Messiah the King, the Lion of the tribe of Judah. It was written by a Jew, to Jews, about a Jew. This book of the Bible uses more Old Testament quotes than any other. The Gospel of Matthew emphasizes the saying of Jesus, including ten parables not found in any other Gospel. After first establishing the royal genealogy, he then goes on to focus on the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies. Matthew uses the term "fulfilled" 82 times! Many scholars now believe that the Gospel was written before Paul's first imprisonment of 57-60 A.D., and that virtually all of the New Testament books were written before Jerusalem's destruction. This study contains 24 hours of verse by verse teachings. Copyright © 11-01-2006 Recorded: 2006

What does it look like to stand with a community through fire—both literal and systemic?  In this conversation, Rev. Marcos Canales and Rev. Dr. Robert Chao Romero join Rachael Clinton Chen to share their experiences leading and loving the Latino community in the Los Angeles area, especially during recent times of crisis. From homes lost and families displaced by devastating wildfires this year to the crushing weight of recent unjust immigration policies that threaten daily survival, these realities are urgent and relentless. Amid these challenges, they share how they create space for lament, fierce hope, and necessary rest in their lives as leaders. They show what it means to bear witness with empathy, stand in true solidarity, and nurture resilience when the world feels like it's falling apart. Beyond politics, agendas, and policies, their witness points to a deeper hope in Jesus—one that sustains, heals, and empowers communities to keep moving forward. Martyn Lloyd-Jones Sermon Podcast

Romans 5:9-10 — Paul states that the greatest proof of the love of God is His plan of salvation. The one assurance beyond that is the direct witness of the Holy Spirit Himself. The Holy Spirit bears witness that Christians are indeed children of God. Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones notes in this sermon on Romans 5:9-10 that after Paul discusses being justified by God, he uses the phrase “how much more then.” Christ has already died, which meant that His people no longer have to face God's wrath. Also much more, Christ gave the gift of the Holy Spirit as well. Dr. Lloyd- Jones then discusses justification and how the cross procures this justification on the Christian's behalf. It is not human works, faith, or self- sanctification that justifies; it is purely the work of Christ on the cross. This act guarantees final salvation, when Christ comes to receive His church and His people are with Him in glory for eternity.

Beyond this, parents are the primary educators of their children, responsible for their holistic formation. Sadly, many couples suffer from infertility. Even in their struggle, they can provide a powerful witness of love, sacrifice, and fidelity. In all this and more, we see the family as the Domestic Church. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 1652-1658. Bishop Robert Barron’s Sermons - Catholic Preaching and Homilies

Friends, the title of my ministry, Word on Fire, came from our Gospel for today. Jesus says to his disciples, “I have come to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already blazing!” This is not the lighting of a cozy campfire. This is closer to, if you want, Sodom and Gomorrah—to fire and brimstone. It is a dangerous and divisive fire. Christ is the light of the world, the divine luminosity—but to the degree that we are still in darkness, we will experience that light as something difficult, off-putting, even torturous.

Sharing the gospel with Catholics is an act of love because God loves them deeply. In this episode, Ray, E.Z., Mark, and Oscar delve into the implications of Catholic teachings on the role of the Pope and its significance for the Gospel. The Pope is the head of the Catholic Church, but Scripture makes it clear: Christ alone is the head of the Church, which consists of true believers. While the Catholic Church has played a significant role in preserving God's word and has done much good worth recognizing, there are serious concerns regarding salvation. The Catholic Church has always taught faith, but not salvation by grace alone. The idea that grace follows all you can do stands in direct tension with the biblical message of imputed righteousness. Christ's righteousness is credited to believers, not earned through merit. The guys make it clear they are not claiming there are no saved Catholics, but that salvation would be despite official Church teaching, not because of it. Oscar challenges the belief that Peter was the first pope, arguing that the early church resembled a presbytery, where multiple bishops served collectively. Historical evidence shows that the title and authority of the pope developed over time. Even papal infallibility was not formally declared until the 1800s and remains a topic of controversy among Catholics.A central concern is the tendency to elevate tradition above scripture. The guys urge believers to let the Bible speak clearly. William Tindale gave his life to make scripture accessible, and it remains the most effective tool in gospel conversations. Matthew 16 refers to the truth that Jesus is the Christ as the rock, not Peter himself. Peter was important, but not preeminent. He referred to all believers as a royal priesthood. Reassigning that identity to a single man misrepresents the biblical narrative. The guys also discuss doctrines that have been added over time, such as purgatory, the veneration of saints, and praying to the dead. These practices shift attention away from Christ. There is one mediator between God and man, and that is Jesus. Ray shares that many Catholics know Jesus died for their sins but cannot explain what that means for their salvation. He has found that they are often open and willing to engage in a deep way. Rather than argue, he focuses on walking them through the gospel and lets God work. Scripture remains the authority. The church is built on Christ, not Peter. Grace is God's unmerited favor to the undeserving. Compassion must not lead to compromise. The gospel is simple, powerful, and straightforward. Christ alone is the head of the Church.Send us a textThanks for listening! Parenting is holy work—but also hard, messy, exhausting, and humbling. In this heartfelt devotional and prayer, Peyton Garland draws an unexpected connection between plant care and child-rearing, sharing how becoming a “plant lady” during pregnancy gave her new eyes to see how growth, nurture, and resilience apply to raising kids. Whether you’re parenting toddlers, teens, or navigating young adulthood, Peyton encourages you to plant flowers in the trenches. That means practicing vulnerability, modeling God’s grace, and creating an atmosphere of love, humility, and honesty within your home. Even when the days feel muddy or the nights are sleepless, God is with you in the thick of it. As Isaiah promises, the Lord will guide and strengthen you, turning your weary places into flourishing gardens. Today's Bible Verse: “The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” – Isaiah 58:11 (NIV)

In this study, learn about our need to abide in the doctrine of Christ so we can avoid false teachers. John warns us: If we entertain these deceivers, we are a partner in their deeds.

This episode mentions suicide and depression and may not be suitable for all listeners. This week, we’ll hear from actress and producer Patricia Heaton. Beloved for her roles in Everybody Loves Raymond and The Middle, Patricia has faced seasons of grief and depression while navigating the ups and downs of a demanding industry, and shares how she has used comedy as a way to connect on a deeper level, helping others find light and meaning even in life’s hardest moments. Later in the episode, we’ll hear from journalist Anita Vogel. With a career spanning more than three decades, Anita has reported from small-town newsrooms to national television screens. She’s covered some of the nation’s biggest stories, but behind the headlines, it’s her interviews with everyday heroes and her experiences on the frontlines of breaking news that have shaped her deep commitment to telling meaningful, lasting stories. You’re still dealing with grief and pain and there’s suffering, but because we knew she was with Jesus, there’s certain things you don’t have to wonder about.” - Patricia Heaton “There were times when I could feel depression coming on, as if someone was taking a shade and pulling it down. I could feel it coming on, and I remember I would just be saying prayers over and over. So, it definitely gives you a solid landing place while you’re struggling.” - Patricia Heaton “The entertainment industry is really a difficult industry—there are no guarantees and there is zero security. It’s actually a really good place to be, because in life, there’s zero security except our relationship with Jesus. That’s the only guarantee.” - Patricia Heaton “The balance to try and strike is to be in the moment as much as possible—present to what God wants you to do and present to the people that you’re in the room with so that no event is ever wasted.” - Patricia Heaton “You do commit, but you have to know that you’re not in charge of the result. So in that sense, I’ve always had to let God be God because things fall apart so easily. We just have to believe that He has a plan, and that He will open doors and shut doors, and that’s what’s best for us.” - Patricia Heaton “Your family and your relationships and each other are the most important things, and God has you in His hands through all of it.” - Patricia Heaton “God is much bigger than our problems. He’s much bigger than our sins. He’s bigger than our failings, so we just need to learn to rest and relax in Him and trust and have faith in His love for us.” - Patricia Heaton “God is in control, and as a human being, you can only do as much as you can to survive, to protect your loved ones, to protect others. At the end of the day, God is present and He is watching all of this, and we just have to have faith that things are unfolding according to His plan.” - Anita Vogel “I always say a prayer and I always ask God to help comfort these people to get them through this horrific time. I don’t know how God does it. He has His own special way. We just have to have faith that He does something special for these people, to bring some kind of peace and comfort back into their lives.” - Anita Vogel “That’s one of the highlights of my career—that I do get to meet people from all walks of life and people who helped shape my life.” - Anita Vogel _______________________ Enjoy watching these additional videos from Jesus Calling YouTube channel! Send us a textII Corinthians 10Paul defends his authority as an apostle, addressing those who criticize him for being bold in his letters but unimpressive in person. He explains that his confidence comes from God, not human strength. Though he walks in the flesh, he does not wage war as the world does; instead, he uses spiritual weapons to demolish strongholds and take every thought captive to Christ. Paul warns against judging by appearance, reminding the Corinthians that true authority comes from God. He refuses to compare himself with those who boast in themselves, instead boasting only in what the Lord has done through him. Paul emphasizes that his ministry is for building up the church, not tearing it down. He concludes by stating that true approval comes not from self-promotion but from the Lord's commendation. The Lord challenges us to rely on His power rather than human strength. Paul reminds us that we do not fight spiritual battles with worldly tactics but with divine weapons that destroy strongholds. This calls us to examine our thoughts and take them captive to Christ, resisting fear, doubt, and pride. In a world that values outward appearance and self-promotion, Paul teaches us to seek God's approval rather than human recognition. Instead of comparing ourselves to others, we should focus on the mission God has given us. True strength comes from humility and obedience to Christ. As we trust in Him, we can stand firm against spiritual opposition, build others up in faith, and glorify God in all we do.All-powerful Lord, thank You for being our strength in every battle. Help us rely on Your divine power instead of our own abilities. Teach us to take every thought captive to Christ, filling our minds with hope and truth. Guard our hearts from seeking approval from others and remind us that true confidence comes from You. Give us the humility to serve and uplift others rather than tearing them down. Help us stand firm in faith, using the spiritual weapons You have given us to overcome challenges. May our lives reflect Your power and bring glory to Your name.Thought Questions: -       What does Paul mean when he says you have weapons “divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses”? How do you use them daily?  -       How do you take “every thought captive to the obedience of Christ”? What helps you get your mind right so that you follow Him faithfully? -       Do you sometimes seek human approval before God's approval? How do you get your focus on His commendation being all that matters?

Born out of a cultural moment of growing distrust in science, BioLogos' Science is Good initiative explores how Christians can be a voice for the goodness of science. The episode connects the three parables of Matthew 25—about wisdom, stewardship, and mercy—with the work of three scientists whose careers exemplify these virtues. Epidemiologist Emily Smith shares how data-driven health work among the global poor reveals a form of wisdom that prepares for the needs of the most vulnerable. Se Kim, a science policy expert, reflects on the gift of scientific aptitude and the importance of investing in people and communities often left out of the scientific enterprise. And Francis Collins tells the story of hepatitis C, a curable disease still claiming lives, and how mercy means doing whatever it takes to bring healing to the “least of these.” Throughout, pastor Jason Miller offers insight into how Jesus' parables can still form our character—even in our attitudes toward science.  Together, their stories serve as a faithful answer to the call: Science is good—and we are invited to live in the light of that truth.
