I want to discuss the importance of our ability to choose. The privilege of choice allows us to develop superior problem solving skills, critical thinking abilities, it nurtures internal belief systems and allows us to master coping mechanisms. The ability to choose is something we DON'T want to loose.
The quickest way to get things done...JUST DO IT!! There is no life hack here. You just simply need to be disciplined to get things done.

The themes of this chapter include disappointment, FEAR, passive living, crossroads, hope and living with passion. David takes us on a wild ride as he shares his experience of once again "defying the odds" and losing over a 100lbs in 3 months and studying day in and day out to have an opportunity to become a Navy Seal. He knows that only "one-third of the men who begin BUD/S make it through Hell Week" but he states, "It was about who I was and who I wanted to be. I was a prisoner in my mind and this opportunity was my only chance to break free". Join me in this review as we reflect Chapter 3 and dive into his Challenge #3 to get comfortable with discomfort.
We are doing a book club on David Goggins book Can't Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds. In Chapter 2- Truth Hurts we discuss the different themes in the chapter including, loneliness, loss, confusion, shame, devastation, desperation, determination and drive. We are participating in David Goggins challenge to create an Accountability Mirror to "write all your insecurities, dreams and goals on Post-It notes and tag up your mirror". By using this strategy you will look at your goals daily and be able to honesty look at yourself in the mirror to hold yourself accountable for working toward those goals.
