From The Department of Defence and in conjunction, The ManpowerGroup, Sue McCready and Kate Donovan share the unique challenges they face recruiting individuals for more than two hundred defence roles including officers, airmen, soldiers, and technicians. The Department of Defence is utilizing AI to ease the inherently difficult task of measuring characteristics and aptitudes of potential recruits. Tech is also being used to create career sustainability and as a workaround for accessing key employees that split time between the Department of Defence and more traditional roles.
Rob McIntosh of Paradox, originator of the product Olivia, talks about the complexity of integrating AI into HR processes. While Olivia is capable of handling detailed tasks like pre-screening, interview scheduling, and others; paradoxically, the lack of change in recruitment over the last twenty years creates complication for fully transferring recruitment tasks to AI. Rob gives advice on how to balance these aspects and engage the HR benefits, while also creating a sensible business case that justifies the technology.

Hiretual has created a ranking and search tool for recruitment that combs through more than 700 million candidate online profiles. Andy shares that the team of data scientists, including an ex-Googler, uses technologies similar to big search-engines to streamline complex data processing. Hiretual’s aim is to be a recruiter’s ‘best friend’.
Raquel Lemon from Vicinity discusses how her tech background has given her the ability to assist in the rollout of technology designed to tailor the customer experience, looking to cross-industry trends in data analytics to develop best practices. Raquel considers both the development of teams within Vicinity and the development of new spaces and strategies in their centres as important aspects of forward progression.
SEEK's Antony Ugoni joins us live from the ATC Event in Sydney talking about AI and talent acquisition, what SEEK is investing in to leverage the data to bring insights and valuable analytics to their customers and candidates.
