In a remarkable response to the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, Dr. Cherise Hamblin and her dedicated team at Patients R' Waiting orchestrated a dynamic initiative to bring vaccines directly to the community. As the vaccine became available, they wasted no time and initiated pop-up vaccine clinics in unconventional locations, including churches, parking lots, community centers, and even the Clipper Magazine baseball stadium in Lancaster. The success and positive reception of these pop-up vaccine opportunities inspired Dr. Hamblin and her colleagues to think beyond traditional healthcare outreach. This led to the creation of the Health Equity Music Festival, a groundbreaking event spanning six weeks. The festival serves as a unique platform to promote vaccination, emphasize the benefits of healthy living and eating, and connect attendees with an array of service providers to address their personal needs. Now in its third year, the Health Equity Music Festival has become a staple in Lancaster City. Dr. Hamblin and her team have seamlessly blended the realms of health advocacy and entertainment, using creative interaction and engagement to deliver crucial health messages to the community. The festival's innovative approach not only promotes vaccination but also educates attendees on the importance of incorporating healthy habits into their daily lives. The festival's diverse lineup includes musical performances, interactive health opportunities, food, and opportunities for attendees to connect with various service providers offering support in different aspects of their lives. By combining entertainment with essential health information, the Health Equity Music Festival has proven to be an effective and engaging method of reaching a wide audience. As the festival enters its third year, the impact of Dr. Cherise Hamblin and Patients R Waiting's initiative continues to resonate in Lancaster City, fostering a sense of community and collective well-being in the ongoing battle against Covid-19.Support WITF: https://www.witf.org/support/give-now/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Welcome to a special edition of the 14th Ask Me Anything (AMA) episode, part of Huberman Lab Premium. This episode is a recording of a live stream AMA, originally exclusive to our Annual and Lifetime Members. We've decided to make the full-length version available to everyone, including non-members of Huberman Lab Premium. Huberman Lab Premium was launched for two main reasons. If you're not yet a member but enjoyed this full-length livestream AMA, we invite you to join Huberman Lab Premium. By subscribing, you'll gain access to exclusive benefits including our regular monthly full-length AMA episodes, AMA transcripts, podcast episode transcripts, early access to live events and more. Additionally, a significant portion of your membership proceeds contributes to advancing human scientific research. In this episode I share with you some important words of wisdom about running a business. This comes from a LinkedIn post by Dave Borski: 8 years ago today, I left a great job at SwRI to pursue my dreams of starting a business. It's been a winding road with lots of challenges, victories and defeats. Popcorn list of Things I've learned since then: Payroll doesn't happen with a push of a button Annual Health insurance premium for a self-employed family is on par with paying cash for a nice 2-year old Honda Accord every year Premiums don't cover your deductible, and lots of services are not covered Finding good partners/suppliers is critical to early growth You need a lot of money (or access to it) to make big projects run before the client pays you Nobody can sell your business as well as you can You can hire better people than you to work the components of your business. It's better to be the architect of your business than the manager Self motivation is a key - but you have to plan for it to work It's great to have a mentor (or a few) who are invested in your success; it's even greater if they've been successful and know what it takes It's important to say no when your strategic plan doesn't allow for it Dave Borski's LinkedIn profile Items used in this video: PLC Trainer Get the full details of this podcast. Dr. Prather recommends that everyone have three very affordable lab tests every year that will reveal the state of your health. In this episode, find out: --How anything that could go wrong with you shows up in The Prather Profile, an inexpensive, nationally-recognized blood profile that covers all the major systems in your body. --That the reference ranges listed on a lab tests are NOT the same as the optimal values for your health. And why Dr. Prather has to re-teach doctors and nurses how to look for that optimal range. --How Dr. Prather has over 600 hours of reading blood tests in his training compared to the average Medical Doctor who only has 15 hours of reading blood tests in Medical school. --Why Dr. Prather says you can get more information from a blood test than any other type of diagnostic. --How Dr. Prather interprets bloodwork differently in the Structure-Function Health Care model he practices than how doctors in the Disease Care model look at the labs. --Why Dr. Prather says it's "very seldom" someone comes in with ideal blood tests. --Why Hair Analysis is important to reveal the mineral and heavy metal levels in your body. Plus, how Dr. Prather has seen patients diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease have had all of their symptoms go away when the Hair Analysis revealed the true cause of their symptoms was Manganese toxicity. --The importance of the G.I. Effects Stool kit in revealing your gut flora. --Why Dr. Prather says the research that has been discovered on the gut by the National Institutes of Health "will change health care in America" since almost all autoimmune diseases, as well as cardiovascular disease and cancer, are affected by the gut. --The reason why 80% of our immune system is in the gut. Plus, how ALL pharmaceuticals destroy your normal gut flora. www.TheVoiceOfHealthRadio.com

On this episode we recap the 36th Annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare conference (#JPM18), the Health 2.0 WinterTech event and talk about the "festival" that J.P. Morgan Week becomes in San Francisco. We cover the trends and topics coming out of the festival and use them as a jumping off point to discuss the next wave of digital health investment and innovation. What you'll learn: What is the J.P. Morgan Healthcare conference? What is the Health 2.0 WinterTech Event? Who attends these events and how do you get value from them? How you can take part in the festival even if you're not invited to the main show. The trends and topics coming out of the festival and what they mean for Health Systems, Investors, Innovators and Startups Who are the "Strategics"? What are they investing in? And why are they starting to invest in earlier rounds? What are the major Health System strategies and why are they still so "muddled"? How and why you should develop pipelines for product development and innovation Why we should start to consolidate startups earlier and bundle them into more comprehensive offerings in support of broader strategic initiatives How an accelerator might organize around a very specific, outcomes-driven investment thesis and use the "startup bundle" model to create very comprehensive (and fund-able) companies. The 36th Annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference Held January 8-11, 2018 - San Francisco This is the premier gathering of healthcare investors in the U.S. This year more than 400 companies from startups to very large healthcare delivery systems presented to more than 8,000 attendees to share their vision and strategies for the coming years. The idea is to telegraph to investors what's coming (if you're an innovator), and what you'll want to buy (if you're a large health system). One observer said it "provides an incredibly efficient snapshot of the strategies for large healthcare delivery systems". The event is invite-only, but there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in the various events and meetups happening around town. A prime example of that is the Health 2.0 WinterTech event. Learn more about #JPM18 The 4th Annual Health 2.0 WinterTech Event Held January 10, 2018 A much smaller and more targeted event that is billed as "the place for insider insights on investing trends in health care technology". Less than a year after being acquired by HIMSS, it's great to hear that this event is still, as Shahid put it, "very much a Matthew (Holt) and Indu (Subaiya) Health 2.0 event". That means startups get the spotlight. Matthew and Indu love to put them on stage and let them tell the investors what they're up to. Learn more about Health 2.0's WinterTech ... This year we added on a farmer's market to bring healthy food options to our community, with demonstrations of fruits and vegetables that our demographic may not be accustomed to using, but are essential to maintaining good health during the fall and winter months. We are a church without walls and want to meet people where they are. It's important that we are healthy, mind body and soul to positively impact the kingdom of God. How: This year MissouriCare, sponsored a large portion of our fair and we are grateful to their support. Who will be there: Vendors for the day include Mercy Mammography Van, Cardinal Glennon Kids Safety Program, Proficient Chiropractic, The Empowerment Network will be available to do prostate screenings with a simple blood test, with much more. We also have a bounce house for the kids, so it's a family event. The public will be able to purchase turkey legs, turkey tacos and candy apples. We encourage everyone to come out and shop for fresh produce while enjoying the vendors and other treats. But most importantly we want the public to take advantage of the free health services that will be available that day! We have one body and must manage it like well. For questions, call India McMillan at (314) 399-5832 and we hope to see everyone there.

Meanwhile, availing themselves of all being present 'IRL' in Chicago in the Conversa Health booth, team Conversa was interviewed by my co-host and Chief Product Officer Phil Marshall, MD (@PhilMarshallMD).
