Lured Up Podcast 383 - The Long Way Live Streamed on - 2/17/2026 Publish Date - 2/20/2026 The love in the air is starting to disperse, but not before we recap the Valentine's Day event and our Raid and Max Battle double-feature over the weekend.After SerAmanda's voicemail last week discussed how were to get just a single Spinda encounter (or so we thought), we were all pleasantly surprised that we had Spinda galore. It opens a great conversation about how harsh the community can be when if comes to Niantic sharing info, and how it actually feels really good when they can pull off a surprise. Therian Anamorus and GMAX Meowth kept us busy and spending money, even though Furfrou and Luvdisc tried to take the spotlight. It was an interesting weekend of activity, but one that brought the community together twice, which is never a bad thing. The Lunar New Year event runs through Saturday and gives us all a chance at Shiny Gimmighoul and a whole lotta luck when it comes to gifting and trading. Kalos Tour IRL is taking place this weekend and we have additional info on the event and a little bit of new info for Global. Ken and Adam will both be out on the grind during Kalos Tour, so make sure you stop to say hi if you see them! GO Battle League has been completely rebuilt from the ground up and this could be the update that the Battlers have been demanding for years. I think we should all put in some time behind the wheel before jumping to conclusions, however the early sentiment seems to be that some of the long standing issues with the system have been addressed. Let's check back in on this during next week's episode! Finally we have a fun discussion about how spending time on the toilet can be a great catalyst for gameplay. Lured Up Podcast 321 Record Date - 9/24/24 Publish Date - 9/27/24   We have plenty to discuss this week as the hits just keep on coming. Niantic is keeping their foot on the gas pedal with Max Out, as new events, Pokémon and Shinies are inbound to the game this month.   We begin with a recap of our last week of gameplay including the Psychic Spectacular and Dynamax Beldum Raids. We loved seeing a fleshed out and diverse event that provides a bit of gameplay for many different disciplines of Trainers. The focus this week however is on DMax Beldum, which while not too tough a boss in the end, definitely took a lot of Trainers by surprise in their first few battles. This makes DMax even more promising as a vessel to release new and exciting content to the game.   Oranguru and Passimian Research Day delivered as expected with simple tasks and plenty of Shinies. Having events like this that support free to play players and the most hardcore at the same time is no simple feat. In the end, these types of events just work out well for everyone that plays them. We also have news of the Galar Starters coming as Max Battles along with Falinx, which will keep that DMax Train chugging along.   Plenty of miscellaneous news this week including Sewaddle Community Day, new TCG inspired Stickers, Campfire on browser, and sharing items in Party Play. This season is absolutely jammed with content and October looks to keep it going.    Baltimore Regionals were this last weekend and many notable Battlers have spoken up about the state of PvP negatively impacting the event. When Niantic makes a known issue as resolved, yet it rears its head on the world stage, it is never a good look. We hope that in the end all of the battles played were decided fairly.   Between Legendary Heroes and Galarian Expedition, we have Zacian and Zamazenta returning, but this time with their Shiny forms. We have a strong feeling that Raids will be popping off for the next two weeks. Andrew Leigh is a minister in the Australian parliament with a doctorate in economics from Harvard. Unlike many academic economists, however, Leigh has the gift of simplifying economics for all of us. Lured Up Podcast 297 Record Date - 1/16/2024 Publish Date - 1/20/2024   We have a nice combination of news and commentary this week as the both the blogs and social media have been on fire. We start with a recap of the last week of gameplay including Dazzling Dream and its questionable choice of a Hatch Collection Challenge. The Community was very upset about this being time gated, as well as the target hatches being in 7k eggs.    Adventure Effects are proving to be more polarizing than we originally thought. Once the initial excitement settled down, the social media sentiment took a major turn. It opened up the conversation of if the Effects were worth the investment, with many thinking the return just isn't worth it. This is mainly influenced by only looking at the rewards and not the experience, a divide that is becoming more and more common in non-casual circles.   Annihilape will be here next week and it looks to be an exciting addition to a Battler's arsenal. With relevance in all three leagues, you are going to want to catch multiple specs of this one! We look at GO Hub's analysis of what you should expect heading into Raging Battles and GO Battle Week.    Taken Treasures will close out the month and is another two for one event as it is paired with a Team GO Rocket Takeover. Solid bonuses and Raid bosses will make this a good time, while the Battlers will finally have another chance to TM away Frustration.    We close the show with another heated debate from social media. A growing belief that ALL paid Research in Pokémon GO should be Special Research. We take a look at the reasons behind the feeling, and how both Paid Timed and Special Research can exist at the same time. Once again, we see the experience of the event being lost in the shuffle, as many are simply looking at the rewards as if they were making a direct transaction. Adamant Time had some ups and downs with the encounter pool being polarizing, as Kanto typically splits the Community. Black & White Kyurem were accidentally released as GBL Rewards, which really upset the Battlers once it was pulled. Not sure what they thought was going to happen!   As we make our way through the Winter Events, we have new Pokémon, new Shinies, and some solid bonuses to keep us engaged. Hopefully many Trainers have woken up to new WaySpots in their Community as the Wayfarer Challenge absolutely crushed its goals. Ripping through the APAC Countries, the Challenge turned to the US and a ton of our backlog has been addressed. Lured Up Podcast 289 Record Date - 10/28/2023 Publish Date - 10/30/2023   What's this, what's this? Two incredible weeks of PGO Gameplay with more on the way! It's been a great time to play Pokémon GO with the Halloween Events and a Team GO Rocket Takeover keeping Trainers really busy. From new Pokémon to unique shiny chases, there is a bit of something for everyone.    Most of the action this week is actually from the Community and not from the game. We have an emerging platform for PvP with Dracoviz, which is looking very strong and could be the next place that Battlers call home. It will be interesting to see if Zygarden manages to get anything going before Dracoviz really takes off.   Twitter is still making Wayfarer out to be a bad place, with our favorite nay-sayer, JRE Seawolf at the center of it. We talk about how he shares info that supports his narrative, but doesn't paint a complete picture of what is going on. Trainers need to accept that they will be held accountable for their actions, even if the actions in question were a long time ago. Also, everyone should remember that if your offense is significant, Niantic may jump right to a 30 or 90 day suspension right out of the gate.   November and the Festival of Lights are on the way, but we first put together a Raid Guide and Battle Party for Shadow Lugia, which will be around on the weekends for a few weeks.
