--- Sermon delivered at Pilgrim Baptist Church on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 6-15 pm. -----An expository sermon based on 1 Timothy 5-11-16 with biblical instruction to young women and young widows.--1 Timothy 5-11-16 But the younger widows refuse- for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry- Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith. And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house- and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not. I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully. For some are already turned aside after Satan. If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged- that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.---- -- -- -- ----Jimmy Fortunato is the Pastor of Pilgrim Baptist Church, a bible-believing, independent Baptist church that takes a strong stance on the authority of the King James Bible and the absolute necessity of public evangelism for true New Testament churches.--For more information about Pilgrim Baptist Church, visit--- https---pilgrimbaptist.church---Pastor Fortunato's Blog---- https---fortunato.blog---Stay Connected with Pilgrim Baptist Church on Social Media---- Facebook- https---www.facebook.com-PilgrimBaptistCookeville--- Instagram- https---www.instagram.com-pilgrimbaptistcookeville---- Twitter- https---twitter.com-pbc-cookeville--- Sermon Audio- https---www.sermonaudio.com-solo-pilgrimbaptist--Donate To Pilgrim Baptist Church---- https---pilgrimbaptist.church-giving

Our guest today is Mark Eshelman. Mark accepted Christ at the young age of 10, but his faith soon became works based. In his 20's, he experienced a spiritual crisis and sought answers as he traveled across the world. God provided the resources he needed to get through it, and for many years, Mark lived as a committed follower of Jesus. While his spiritual crisis led him to settle many of his intellectual questions about Jesus and Christianity, his faith was still very much in his head, and he did not know how to engage with God on a heartfelt, emotional level. Eventually he hit a spiritual drought, and he knew he needed something more. Then, a friend introduced him to Victory Over the Darkness and The Bondage Breaker by Neil Anderson. Immediately, he noticed two significant changes: his heart was quiet, and his bitter anger was gone. This was the start of a new chapter in Mark's life. Since then, he's been on a journey of discovering his significance in God and learning to break off idols which has allowed him to fully receive and feel the depths of God's love. Today, he's able to love his wife, God and others in a way that he never was before. As we continue our series looking at how we can position ourselves to experience the fullness of God's promises, today we're looking at how we can cast off negativity, so that we, right here and now, can experience to greater depth the joy that's available to us in God. May God grant us the courage and perspective to choose life over death today as we seek to live the abundant life wholly available to us in Christ. Our Scripture for today comes from Proverbs 18:21, and today's worship is Ever Be by Kalley Heiligenthal. -- Thanks for listening to today's podcast, casting off negativity. As you go about your day today, try and notice when you feel negativity taking over. Maybe it's when you drive, maybe it's a certain person at work. And rather than seeking to wrestle with it right away, try to calmly notice the negativity, and then invite God to meet you there with his wisdom and presence. Make sure to rate the podcast today if this episode was meaningful, and write a review if God is doing something in your life through this space. Have a wonderful rest of your day, and may God bless you as you seek him.

Matthew 11:28-30 It's been rightly said, the devil makes work for idle hands, but did you know the devil can be just as much in business as he is in idleness? If he can't get you one way, he'll get you another way, and one of his most disguised weapons is placing upon the backs of well-meaning Christians, the burden of false guilt! A true burden from the Lord is a burden to be given back to God in prayer. It has an outflow/release value through which the pressure can be eased. By way of contrast; a false burden has no outflow, it's a pressure cooker if you like without the release valve!! It is a counterfeit — it's not a genuine article. It sometimes feels like the real, but alas, it soon reveals itself to be a fraud. The pressure is seemingly there, but upon inspection, instead of a pure conviction, the pressure/burden is tainted with accusatory blame and wave after wave of false guilt. One quickly realises, this is not the life-giving conviction of God the Holy Ghost but rather the life-sucking condemnation of the devil!! May this sermon be of help to those weighed down with false guilt.
1 Samuel 15:24 King James Version 24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
Casting Off All Doubts
Ministry moment from Sunday, November 27, 2022 - Pastor Jarred Rushing
As we continue our series looking at how we can position ourselves to experience the fullness of God's promises, today we're looking at how we can cast off negativity, so that we, right here and now, can experience to greater depth the joy that's available to us in God. May God grant us the courage and perspective to choose life over death today as we seek to live the abundant life wholly available to us in Christ. Our Scripture for today comes from Proverbs 18:21, and today's worship is Ever Be by Kalley Heiligenthal. -- Faith doesn't happen on its own. It's a byproduct of time spent experiencing the faithfulness of our God. It's a gift given to us by the Giver of good gifts, himself. It was a supernatural faith that allowed Paul to sing even while in chains. It was supernatural faith that allowed Peter to proclaim the gospel, even unto death. And it's supernatural faith that will carry you to and through the greatest gospel opportunities in front of you. We pray our printed devotionals, Faith and Trust, help people like you experience the life changing reality that faith and trust have on your everyday life. With Faith you'll: Discover a Biblical framework for living faithfully Study powerful moments of God's faithfulness in scripture Tear down personal strongholds in your life where you struggle with faith Develop a lifestyle of faith, that weathers the storms of life And every dollar you give today goes to help more people like you experience the nearness and love of our God. Everything changes when we learn to trust and become filled with faith in our good, good God. Get your copy at supportfirst15.org!

In this very important verse from the Bhagavad Geeta, Krishna shares a powerful analogy of how the jiva (soul) casts off the body and takes a new one just like how one would shed off old garments and wear new ones. Swamiji delves into the law of action and reaction as he sheds more light into this nuanced topic. Chris Harris from Couchbase joins me in a conversation about the challenges that businesses continue to face with legacy technology. Using the database industry as a case in point, we discuss how business' legacy arrangements hinder their chances of being competitive in the post-COVID, digital-first world. Chris argues that reliance on legacy database technology such as Oracle is holding them back from achieving their digital goals. We also talk about cloud and IoT to AI, and even 5G calls for a much higher level of data agility than legacy databases can provide. In Chris' view, one of the key reasons businesses struggle to move away from legacy tech is skills; often and companies lack the resources to adopt more modern alternatives that are better suited to meeting digital transformation requirements. Finally, Chris offers his thoughts on where he sees the database industry moving next, looking at emerging technologies that businesses increasingly demand, such as edge computing or real-time analytics, and explaining how the database industry is evolving to support them. At Couchbase, they believe data is at the heart of the enterprise. They empower developers and architects to build, deploy, and run their mission-critical applications. Many of the world's largest enterprises rely on Couchbase to power the core applications their businesses depend on.

Sunday Evening - (09–26-2021)
What do you do with your sins? Since the beginning, man has been in search of something to do with sin. From the account in Act One with Adam and Eve (Genesis 3) in the garden, to the story of Ananias and Saphira (Acts 5) in Act Two, our first response is to hide from others, but especially an All-Knowing God. During these "Days Of Awe," the 10 days between the Feast of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement, the Jewish community symbolically casts their sins into the depths of the sea. You don't have to be Jewish to appreciate the redemptive story that is taking place in this season. In fact, we believe this will enhance and grow your faith in a God who has already cast our sins into the depths of the sea. Who is a God like You, who pardons wrongdoing And passes over a rebellious act of the remnant of His possession? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy. He will again take pity on us; He will trample on our wrongdoings. Yes, You will cast all their sins Into the depths of the sea. - Micah 7:18-19 Don't forget to subscribe so you never miss an episode!
