A very special on-site @adelaidefreshfruiterers in Morphett Vale as we discuss "The Cherry On Top" in life and in business.
Since their formation in 2019, Melbourne rock/punk outfit Anabella And The Heist have steadily gone about building their profile, mostly via word of mouth on the back of their entertaining live shows that are said to often "teeter on the edge of madness".As the band ramps things up for a brighter future, they have delivered two previous singles - both launched to sold-out venues - in Electric and 1769, songs that have showcased differing sides to Anabella And The Heist's musical psyche. On September 12 the band released a third single, Maraschino, via sonic release only, hoping to initially draw people in to the band with their unique sound before pummelling them into submission with a follow-up music video, which was released this Friday just gone. HEAVY caught up with frontwoman Holly Arabella and guitarist Joe Humphries to find out more.“The music video, like the song, came from a place of wanting to play with the idea of tension and release,” Holly shared. “We chose an unconventionally claustrophobic space to set it within, set up a camera and filmed it ourselves. This allowed us the ability to play with the space in a way that portrays the pressure of the song.”We ask how the initial reaction has been to the audio release of Maraschino."It's been really great, actually," Holly smiled. "I've been really excited to see other people have been excited about it too, because it's one thing to be in the studio and be like oh we're making this fusion punk dance thing, and you're really excited about it, and then when it actually comes out and other people are excited about it, it's like, okay we went in some weird cryptic manic episode that worked (laughs)."We ask how Maraschino differs musically from Electric and 1769."I would think that we leaned into it," Holly mused, "especially with the samples and the synths and everything. I think we've found our niche in that kind of dance thing, and I think that's just come from playing songs like Electric and 1769 live and seeing the energy and emotion in the dance floor. We've been wanting to just harness that more, and I think with those two previous songs we went into it, going how are we going to play these songs live, so they're very much just guitars, bass, drum, and vocal, whereas this newer stuff we're more going that doesn't matter, we can figure that out."In the full interview, Joe and Holly described Maraschino's chaotic, dance punk style, achieved by merging electronic sounds with traditional instruments. They emphasised their aim to move beyond generic punk rock and explore innovative musical directions. The discussion included details about their upcoming single launch at The Old Bar in Fitzroy and their aspirations for future music and performances. Without confirming anything, Joe and Holly insinuated an album is in the works, with potential shifts in musical direction discussed and more.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

CHERRY ON TOP, 15min., Brazil Directed by Laura Reis A girl with a bunny head tries to escape from her hunted reality when she discovers a group of colorful and hungry girls to be a part of…but things are not as sweet as it seems. https://www.instagram.com/cerejadobolofilme/ Get to know the filmmaker: What motivated you to make this film? I can think that my motivation came from the desire to send an environment message about animal's safety, global warming, and the problems our future is warning us about. Obviously, I wanted to do this in my own way, full of visual astonishing images and satire, targeting horror movie fans that can walk out of the section and rethink their views of the world. Another part of me wanted to make this film to honor my inter child that always dreamed about becoming a filmmaker and creating my very unique universe were everything is possible, even magical forests filled with pink, cakes and weird girls scouts to be a part of. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video? Not gonna lie, I cried a bit. Is a fantastic feeling to watch people from another part of the world talking about your film, and specially to understand everything you wanned to express. Cherry on Top is a non-dialogue short film, I wanted it to be that way so it was easier to start conversations all around the world, and I'm so beyond happy that is happening. Right after watching the feedback video, I sent it to the entire crew and cast so we could exchange of the same exited feelings. The Downfall Of Diddy | The Case Against Sean 'Puffy P Diddy' Combs
Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is currently behind bars in Brooklyn as he awaits trial on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. Combs' legal team has been fighting hard to secure his release on bail, even suggesting a $50 million bond and 24/7 monitoring at his Florida mansion. However, prosecutors are concerned about potential witness tampering and Combs' alleged history of violence. Judges have so far sided with the prosecution, keeping Combs detained in the same facility as convicted fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried. Combs recently filed a second appeal against the judge's decision to deny him bail. His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, previously expressed disappointment with the prosecution's pursuit of what he believes are unjust charges, vowing to prove Combs' innocence. This development comes amid a wave of new sexual misconduct allegations and lawsuits against Combs. One lawsuit, filed by a woman identified as Jane Doe, alleges that Combs sexually assaulted her, resulting in a pregnancy. In another instance, Combs is accused of threatening to fire an intern if they refused to engage in a sexual relationship with him. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? A client who believed that the juice isn't worth the squeeze once asked me what I personally get out of my relationships with women. This episode functionally summarizes my response, namely: a woman is the cherry on top. Strictly speaking, a cherry isn't necessary for a sundae – but it can help to perfect one. Making peace with the fact that modern women – like maraschino cherries – are luxury goods will help men withhold unreasonable expectations about what they can (and cannot) provide. Alex from Everything Alex Cooks is an LA-native and now NYC-based recipe developer, writer, pop-up host, ceramicist, and works in the medical field. Saving lives and appetites. I came across Everything Alex Cooks through a flier of her doing a pop up at my favorite club in Brooklyn, Public Records. I had to go. I did see through photos that Alex did another pop up at another fine institution, Cherry On Top. At Public Records I got the Sesame Semolina Mochi Cake to go then went into Manhattan, go to my friend's house and did a cute little mukbang with his kid that garnished millions of views on TikTok. You can follow us at Wear Many Hats on Tik Tok of course. Everything Alex Cooks is everything I want to have at home and out. We're going to talk about Girl Dinner but what is Guy Dinner? We already know. It's not pretty. Latte and Laundry: A home for Catholic women, moms, and hearts
"In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold." Ephesians 4:26There is one particular time of day that can be the most trying, the most exhausting, and the most frustrating for young parents: the bedtime shuffle. This week I discuss the calling to fulfill our obligation of charity through a gentleness and peaceful disposition at bedtime so that our children can rest their hearts and their bodies in the security of our love, which will serve to lead them to the most secure love - God Himself. If this episode blessed you, I would be so honored if you shared it with a friend, rated it, or left us a review! I always love to connect :suzanne @latteandlaundry.com

In this episode, we discuss, can we use a tactile cue like leash pressure to train in an R+ framework or is it still just R- that we put a treat on top of to make us feel better?, putting food in the picture doesn't necessarily make it positive reinforcement, so how can we tell what contingencies are really in play?, review what we mean by positive and negative reinforcement, an example of a situation that I thought I was training with R+ but now I'm realizing it's really R-, despite my best intentions, questions I can ask myself (and my dog)-- am I escalating the cue or stimulus to get the behavior to happen?, do I have feelings about consequences should my dog not perform the behavior?, what happens if I apply that tactile stimulus in a different context outside of a training session?, what other behaviors - emotional behaviors and other behaviors - are happening at the same time or in this context? Are they behaviors otherwise associated with positive reinforcement? Or are they more consistent with escape/delay/avoidance?, can I use the cue (the tactile stimulus) to shape another behavior? (ala start button behaviors!)-- how to minimize the chance that a stimulus is functioning as an aversive by teaching the behavior first without that stimulus and then adding it as a cue second.
