They talk about how she was able to live a life of luxury through the years and what gives her the confidence to do all the things she does. She also shares how she shifted from earning money but not being present for her family to do both simultaneously.   Jen Du Plessis, America's Mortgage Mastery Mentor, helps mortgage loan officers and real estate agents who are overwhelmed, stressed out, and sabotaging their personal lives for the sake of their business to multiply results in record time and have the courage to say yes to their personal lives (which sometimes means saying no to clients).   During fifteen of her 37-year career in the mortgage industry, Jen has been listed in the top 1% of loan officers nationwide, spent three years in the top 200 nationally ranked originators, and has funded over $1 Billion in mortgage loans. She is recognized as an Influencer in her industry as the best-selling author of LAUNCH-How to Take Your Business to New Heights, the top podcast host of Mortgage Lending Mastery, and a highly sought and charismatic speaker; speaking on stages with such icons as Darren Hardy, Tony Robbins, and Les Brown.   Today Jen is passionate about empowering mortgage loan officers to achieve professional and personal breakthroughs so that they stop the daily chaos by identifying their priorities to gain calm to take back control of their business and life. She is guiding her coaching students to attract clients rather than chasing them. And lastly, she is devoted to helping each student's business grow exponentially rather than hitting the reset button to have the same results year after year.   She has been seen and heard on Good Morning America, Sirius/XM Radio, Voice America, and Mortgage News Network.  Jen has been featured in publications such as The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post, is a regular contributor to Mortgage Executive Magazine and Mortgage Women Magazine, and has been recognized with the Women with Vision Award as one of the Top Women in the Mortgage Industry.   Connect with Jen at: Website: https://www.jenduplessis.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jenniferduplessis/ FB: https://www.facebook.com/JenDuPlessis22/ IG: https://www.instagram.com/jenduplessis Twitter: https://twitter.com/JenDuPlessis   Check out her podcast: https://www.jenduplessis.com/podcast/ Show notes: [1:44] What allowed Jen to live a life of luxury? She is the Principal Advisor for Equitable Origin EO100™ Standard for Responsible Energy Development. She has received recognition for women's leadership in the oil and gas industry, including the Houston Business Journal's Top Women in Energy, the National Diversity Council's Top 50 Women in Oil and Gas, and the Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce Trailblazer Award.Jennifer grew up in Ohio, married her high school sweetheart whose job took them out of state. This led Jennifer into the first part of her career, working for the IRS. At the time she did not have her law degree and found herself working with lawyers, who quite frankly she felt more competent then or at least equal to. This sparked a fire in her to go back to school, despite the fact she had a full time job and two little kids at home. She quickly found herself drained, tired and unsure if she would be able to finish. She walks us through this period in her life and how she managed to pull it off. Jennifer found herself in an interview with South Western Energy, not knowing anything about upstream oil and gas. The first role of its kind at the company, as the Vice President of Tax. She felt isolated at the start, since the position was a brand new role, as an independent contributor. She talks about how she defined success for her, this strategy made her indispensable at SWN. She was quickly noticed and found herself being asked to take over as CFO in a not so normal situation. You have to listen to find out what happened. Throughout Jennifer's story she created roles that didn't exist before her, that are now common within companies today. She provides advice on creating value through self study and learning from the team when taking on a newly created position or job. This strategy brought her to becoming one of the most sought after leaders in the ESG, Certification and the Climate change space. Among the trials and tribulations of the plague years, there was a silver lining. In late 2020, with the approval of covid-19 vaccines, and into 2021, as the jabs worked their magic, techno-optimism began to spread. If people could develop life-saving inoculations in months, why couldn't the world move out of its low-growth, low-productivity slumber? Firms could embrace digitisation as never before; the shift to working from home could allow people, free of office gossip and draining commutes, to work more effectively; before long there would be vaccines for every disease imaginable. Governments promised to spend big on science; companies outlined juicy R&D plans. It was quite a change of mood. In the years before the pandemic, the rich world's growth rate had drastically slowed. In the 2010s American labour productivity—output per hour of work—grew at half the pace of the decade before. Societies had become worse at finding new ideas, translating them into innovations and promulgating these innovations. So what is happening to innovation locally and are the shiny new tech things all they are being out to be? To talk about this Michael Avery is joined by Christine Strutt, partner at Von Seidels, where she's been practicing intellectual property law for more than a decade. Christine Strutt featured in Managing Intellectual Property's Top Women in IP; Merelda Wu, is the co-founder and CEO of melio.ai, an MLOps startup helping companies commercialise their AI projects and Nicky Verd, author of Disrupt Yourself Or Be Disrupted

In this episode… With unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) on the rise, privacy and security is often unregulated, and drone users outsource air traffic management to a third party. So, what systems can your company put in place to protect your data and mitigate drone misuse? As a licensed attorney and UAV specialist, Dawn Zoldi suggests implementing cybersecurity guidelines for drone hardware and operations. One way to accomplish this is to put a system in place that identifies faulty signals and seizes control over the aircraft to safely land it. With the proper constraints in place, you can effectively secure your data and connection. In today's episode of She Said Privacy/He Said Security, Jodi and Justin Daniels sit down with Dawn Zoldi, Founder and CEO of P3 Tech Consulting, to discuss drone regulations. She talks about the different types of drones and how each one collects data, the risks associated with outsourcing air traffic control to a third party, and how companies can implement cybersecurity solutions for drone control.

The role of the community pharmacist is changing as millions of Americans rely on community pharmacists to provide a new level of care during this healthcare challenged time. Independent pharmacists are able to take active roles to improve outcomes for their patients and lower costs for payers and patients alike. Todays special guest is Dr. Rina Shah, PharmD. Rina is Group Vice President of Pharmacy Operations and Services at Walgreens. Her passion for pharmacy has been centered around transforming patient care to make an impact on patients' lives as well as empowering those around her to do more. In her current role, Rina leads a team that is responsible for pharmacy operations, services and specialty pharmacy across 9,000+ Walgreens pharmacies. In the last year, Rina has led Walgreens pharmacy response to COVID-19, implementing changes such as waiving prescription delivery fees, initiating proactive outreach by pharmacists to vulnerable patients, and enhancing team member and customer safety protocols. In addition to her current role, she now leads pharmacy operations for COVID-19 vaccination services. Rina helped launch Feel More Like You in 2019, a health and beauty service available at no cost to help people living with cancer manage the medical and physical changes associated with cancer treatment. She also spearheaded the creation of a new team of dedicated pharmacists at Walgreens called Health Outcomes Pharmacists. Often outside of a traditional retail setting, these specialized pharmacists work closely with patients most at-risk of medication non-adherence to address barriers that could prevent them from taking their medications as prescribed. In 2020, Rina led the pharmacy team that secured the first enterprise-wide URAC accreditation in Specialty Pharmacy for more than 300 community-based specialty pharmacies. Often patients with life-changing health challenges need support from their pharmacy team in their local community, this accreditation assures patients of the high standards of care in place as they access their medications and understand their treatment. She began her career at Walgreens in 1998, where she held various pharmacy roles in store. In 2007, Rina joined the corporate support center to lead several pharmacy-specific initiatives across the organization, including the launch of the Walgreens immunizations program chain-wide. The program increased immunization rates among customers covering 7 million people. She has also led sales operations and client services within market access.  Rina was recognized by Crain's Chicago Business as one of “40 under 40” for her leadership at Walgreens, by Fierce Healthcare as one of 2020's Most Influential Minority Executives, and by Drug Store News as one of the Top Women in Retail for her business excellence. Rina is actively involved with the UIC College of Pharmacy, APhA, NASP, the CDC and NACDS. She received her Doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2005.
