Happy Thanksgiving from everyone at the Someone You Should Know Podcast.Pittsburgh, PA is famous for its championship sports teams, steel manufacturing, and (my personal favorite) Primanti Brothers' sandwiches. But it's also home to a talented quartet of musicians—Vento, Ziggy, Hawk, and McCarthy—better known as VZHM. Their music features four-part harmonies soaring over acoustic guitars and percussion, blending fresh and familiar sounds. Whether performing their original songs or putting their unique spin on beloved classics, VZHM captures the heart and soul of Pittsburgh's vibrant music scene. In this episode of the *Someone You Should Know Podcast*, I'm joined by Cherylann Hawk from VZHM to discuss her musical journey and the band's creative process. Why do I like tribute acts so much? Actually, there are several reasons. Many acts are no longer with us or are too old to put on the shows they once did. These tribute acts work their butts off learning the licks, the moves, and often the looks. They work extra hard to provide ticket holders with an experience they'll truly enjoy. The Cale Clarke Show - Today's issues from a Catholic perspective.
Have you heard the song 'Rich Men North of Richmond' from Oliver Anthony? This month he became an overnight sensation, having come out with the number one song in the country! He even beat out Taylor Swift's music on the Billboard chart! What's the song about? It's a working man's cry for recognition, calling out the DC establishment who don't appear to care about the 99%. It's an anthem that hits a nerve in Middle America. Cale Clarke explains that Oliver Anthony was once an agnostic who struggled with alcoholism and substance abuse but has now found God. He even read from the Bible at one of his recent concerts! However, there are critics who claim that the track has the wrong message for Christians. Some also take issue with the indecent language in the song. What do you think? Hear Cale's rundown on what's driving this song to 2023 fame. Check out the entire hour. Rich Men North of Richmond - Relevant Radio (Note that the song from Oliver Anthony contains profanity and some content mentioned in this episode may not be suitable for all audiences.)

Why is Muscle Shoals, Alabama considered to be blessed by the musical gods? In this never-before-released episode recorded in 2019, Phil and JF travel to rural Oregon through the Netflix docu-series, Wild Wild Country. The series, which details the establishment of a spiritual community founded by Bhagwan Rajneesh (later called Osho) and its religious and political conflicts with its Christian neighbors, provides a starting point for a wide-ranging conversation on the nature of spirituality and religion. What emerges are surprising ties between the “spiritual, not religious” attitude and class, cultural commodification, and the culture of control that pervades modern society. But they also uncover the true “wild” card at the heart of existence that spiritual movements like that of Rajneesh can never fully control, no matter how hard they try.
