#200: HUGE Milestone Celebration & How To Go Beyond Curious™ To Uncover And Express Your Life's Purpose

Today marks a huge celebration: Episode TWO HUNDRED is officially live. If you had told me back in November 2020 where the show would be today along with who I'd interviewed, I'm not sure I would have believed you… Nuts. Just nuts. This podcast has 1,000% changed my life, and I'm beyond grateful for you being a part of this journey. To celebrate this milestone, I of course wanted to do something special… But before I reveal what I did for #200, you need a teeny bit of context: If you haven't listened to episode #140a, I believe it's the best episode I've ever produced. #140a was the transition to Beyond Curious, where I gave the answer to the question my original show (7-Figure Millennials) was based on: How can we become financially successful and have a big impact while prioritizing our happiness, health, and relationships? My answer? Turn your business into a vehicle that directly helps you to live your life's purpose. The “problem” with this answer was that it was essentially a non answer… I had to go deep and figure out: 1) What's my life purpose? 2) What's the best business vehicle for living out that purpose? Episode #140a went DEEP and shared how I arrived at the answers for myself, and shared clips from DOZENS of previous guests that helped me along the way. Then, with my answers, I took a flying leap into the unknown. I went Beyond Curious. In episode #200, I wanted to share with you where this flying leap has taken me. I share the biggest lessons I've learned from the unknown to help YOU find greater alignment as you uncover and express your purpose. I go DEEP into the crazy experiments I've run that have led me to live a dream life, where I'm unapologetically pursuing what I want in a way that aligns with my purpose to create a more deeply connected world. But of course the most important part for me is that I reverse engineer what I've learned to help YOU find greater alignment and more deeply express YOUR purpose in the world. I can't wait to hear what you think… To see the resources from this episode, visit https://gobeyondcurious.com/podcast/200/ To apply for Curiosity Island Citizenship, visit https://bfo.ng/apply

Few things bring me more joy than seeing someone shoot their shot, and that's how today's episode came about. I got an email from Brandon Fong saying he loves the show and wants to kick it with me in the Diner and I just had to say yes. Brandon is the host of the podcast 7-figure Millennials and wise beyond his years (which sounds like an old-person thing to say… but, well, he is).  He shared so many nuggets, including a favorite quote by Carl Jung that I loved: “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will control your life and you'll call it fate.” We talked about business, personal growth, psychology, values, and more. He shared his strategy for goal setting and reflection that will have you reaching for your journal before the show is over.   About the Guest:  Brandon Fong is a husband to his highschool sweetheart, Leah, and is on a mission to create a more deeply connected world. While growing up on the government-provided “free lunch program” at school, Brandon realized that his most valuable resource wasn't money… it was his relationships. As a speaker, I am doing the two things I loves the most: making people think and making people laugh!  I host my own events multiple times a year. They are 2-day events called Living Imperfectly Live (and sometimes they are 1-day virtual events). They are a space where humans from every walk of life can come together to be part of a community on the pursuit of badassery. The goal is to help attendees start living the life we say we want to live. Alas, you're here because of an idea I had a number of years ago and didn't think I was good enough to pull it off. I finally acted on it and alas Diner Talks with James was born! As you can see...

After rescheduling twice because of COVID-19, I finally got married on June 6th. We had the day of our dreams. But besides getting married to my very best friend, the wedding actually helped me realize something interesting: The 7FM ethos was created before I was even born… by my parents. I'll explain more fully in this week's episode, but here's the short of it: Sometimes you can't see what you're too close to. On my wedding day, my mentor and dear friend Jewels Duncan came to celebrate with us and met my family. Because of that, Jewels gave me more clarity on why I am the way I am. SO. About the guest:     As a 6th grader, Brandon HATED lunch. Like any self-conscious 11-year-old, he cared deeply about what his friends thought of him.... and didn't want his friends to find out that his family qualified for free lunch. 13 years later, he considers that experience to be one of the best things that ever happened to him. It was that experience that taught him that resourcefulness is a far greater asset than any resource. From that moment onward, resourcefulness began to play a critical role in his life. In college, Brandon acquired $30,000+ in scholarships, published a book, worked on his first startup company, studied abroad twice, graduated summa cum laude with a double major in entrepreneurship and marketing with a minor in Spanish, and was selected to deliver the student commencement speech. After graduation, he spent an entire year traveling the world (now up to 23 countries) with his wife while running the marketing for SuperHuman Academy — a 7-figure online education company with over 250,000 students. During that time, his mentor helped him to become the youngest member of Genius Network (an exclusive $25,000/year mastermind for elite 7-figure entrepreneurs) and launch his first online product that generated $44,738 in one week. In 2019, he was named to Wisconsin's “Top 25 Under 25” list and was a finalist on season 4 of Wisconsin's hit TV show, Project Pitch It. Today, Brandon is focused on his newest brand called 7-Figure Millennials. He's on a mission to help 10,000 millennial entrepreneurs to build wealth through the power of connection while prioritizing their health and relationships.   In the episode:     From a young age, Brandon Fong had a passion for networking and an entrepreneurial drive.
