Independent Bottling tends to have a sharp focus on Scotch whiskies, specifically single malt. There are a few notable bottlers that focus solely on American Spirits (Lost Lantern and Crowded Barrel come to mind here) but there's no independent bottler that focuses solely on World Wiskies. Well, not until now. Meet Pablo Goldbarg of Catador Itinerante, an independent bottler who does just that. He's also a long time friend of Joshua and Jason. Here's to a great conversation and a lot of laughs* *apologies to the Spanish speaking community for Joshua's terrible attempts at speaking your language. He will get a branch to the back! ...as usual, have a seat, have a pour, and listen in. Unless you're driving. If you're driving, be smart and stay sober but be sure to listen into the conversation! In our desire to live a fulfilled life, we often get caught up in not only trying to control our environments, but we also forget to live a life that's surrendered to the leading of the Holy Spirit. What does it mean to give up control? And when we give up control, does God control us? In this message Pastor Ty & Daneen are going to continue on their thoughts from last week, and explore what it means to live a life of surrender and submission, and to co-labor with the Lord in all that we do.Visit us online at http://www.fathershouseportland.org
For most of history, mankind has been obsessed with controlling his environment. From useful things such as building shelters to protect himself from severe weather, to immoral actions like enslaving others to work for them, much of man's attention has gone into forcing things into their own control. So it's no surprise that man is still playing this control game, even in religion. So often we have the enticement to turn our faith into a formula to make us feel like we have some kind of control over our future. However, God has not called us into a spiritual exercise that we can control, but into a relationship that we submit to. In this message we're going to explore this tendency to control things and see how we have even incorporated this into how we view our relationship with God.Visit us online at http://www.fathershouseportland.org

Prayer is such a vital part of our faith, and yet for many of us, we still don't fully understand the gift that it is to us. Prayer is more than just giving God our wishlist, but it's one of the most important parts of our relationship with Him. In this message, we're going to explore the importance and beauty of an active prayer life, and come to a greater appreciation of the power and authority that God has given us to demonstrate through those prayers.Visit us online at http://www.fathershouseportland.org

In a world that's so full of relativism as it pertains to morality, religion, and just about everything else, it can be hard to navigate truth, especially when we're told that everyone has their own truth. Continuing on in our Traditions of Man series, in this message we're going to explore the concept of truth, and how we need to guard ourselves from falling into the world's lie that says truth is relative. Knowing the Father's love is a vital part of our inheritance as sons and daughters of God. He is love, so if we don't know His love, we don't know Him. A couple of weeks ago, we started our discussion on the importance of the prophetic in our lives. However, giving a prophetic word or receiving a prophetic word is different than walking out those words. In this season, it's important for us to steward what God is saying to us, both corporately and individually, so that we keep ourselves on the prophetic edge of following His voice. In this message, we're going to talk about how we can effectively take those words and partner with the Lord in seeing them come to fruition.Visit us online at http://www.fathershouseportland.org
All throughout history, mankind has created mindsets and ideas about who God is and what our relationship with Him looks like. Some of those thoughts have come through true revelation that God gave His children, such as is found in the Bible, but a lot of ideas that we carry around are either not found in the Bible, or have been misinterpreted. In this message, we're going to explore a few of these "traditions of man" that we need to hold up to the light of God's word and see if they really are correct ways of thinking.Visit us online at http://www.fathershouseportland.org
When God created mankind the Scriptures say that He created them in His image, male and female. Because of this, we know that women and mothers carry a significant portion of the character and nature of God that is a gift and blessing to all those around. In this message, we're going to explore this powerful gift that has been placed in the hearts of mothers, and be inspired to demonstrate these characteristics to the world around us.Visit us online at http://www.fathershouseportland.org
1 Corinthians 6 tells us that we are a temple of the Holy Spirit, but sometimes we don't realize how important it is for us to cultivate righteousness in our bodies, souls, and spirits. In this season of laying everything on the altar before the Lord, He is asking us to be mindful of what we're allowing in our thoughts and actions. In this message, we're going to explore the Holy ground that is our lives, and the role we play in defending that sacred space and being set apart for the Lord. In man's search for significance and meaning, they often start by looking at themselves and what they think will make them happy, but God created us for something so much bigger than ourselves. What does it mean when Ephesians tells us that we were created in Christ Jesus and that we are seated with Him in Heavenly places? In this message we're going to explore having a proper worldview that is Christ-centered, rather than man-centered. This will be a powerful and life-changing message that will give us a proper perspective in our search for purpose.Visit us online at http://www.fathershouseportland.org
One of the biggest struggles in people's lives is falling into the trap of unbelief, even if they don't realize it . In this message, we're going to finish where we left off last Sunday as we explore the different identities that we carry that aren't for us as believers. This will be a powerful time of exchanging some old mindsets and ways of looking at ourselves for the truth of who God says we are, so we can walk in our full identity of much-loved children of God. Visit us online at http://www.fathershouseportland.org
Over the years, we've all had various identities spoken over us, from our parents and friends, to our teachers and enemies. Some of those things were good, but a lot of them were negative. Regardless of the words that were used, they all played a role in defining who we are, and for many of us, we've allowed those things to hijack the way we see ourselves. In this message, we're going to explore the significance of an identity that's rooted in what God says about us, and identify the places in our lives that we've allowed false perceptions of who we are. This will be a powerful time of allowing the Holy Spirit to bring proper alignment to our identity, and cutting off the lies that have been spoken over us.Visit us online at http://www.fathershouseportland.org
The gospel of John records Jesus introducing the concept of the Holy Spirit to His disciples shortly before His death and resurrection, and the word He used was the word Paraclete. This Greek word has many interpretations, from counselor to comforter, but in all its meanings, it sheds some very important light on who the Holy Spirit is and what He does. In this message, we're going to explore the roles that the Holy Spirit plays in our lives, and come to a greater love and appreciation for all that He does for us.Visit us online at http://www.fathershouseportland.org

In our faith journey, we've become accustomed to reading about and hearing phrases about the work of the Holy Spirit, but for many of us, He can still be mysterious and hard to understand. Part of the prophetic call for us in this season is to embrace the Holy Spirit in a greater way, and to experience His presence like we've never experienced before. In this message, we're going to discuss some of His characteristics and work, but also explore who He is as a person. This is going to be a powerful message that you will not want to miss.Visit us online at http://www.fathershouseportland.org
When the Lord is calling us into a new season, we are faced with various decisions and postures that will help us navigate that transition with success. One of the most important things we can do is to be fully convinced of God's call, and refuse to go back to the old ways of doing things. In this message, we're going to talk about what happened when Elisha was called to become a prophet, and learn from the example of his life in how to position ourselves for our own transitions.Visit us online at http://www.fathershouseportland.org

All throughout history, women have played important roles in God's story of redemption. In the Bible, we see women leading a nation, prophesying, teaching, evangelizing, mothering, and even leading churches. However, for a large portion of the church's history, it has relegated women to the sidelines, and has suppressed their voices and giftings because of a few misunderstood Scriptures. In this message, we're going to talk about the significance of how God created women, explore how women were treated in the New Testament, and see if it lines up with how the church is currently functioning. There are gates in our lives that allow things to come into our hearts or to come out of our lips. It's important that we're aware of how much our inner territory is affected by what we choose to consume, and also how much the confession of our mouths affects the world around us. In this message, we discuss the importance of guarding the gates of our lives, so that the fruit that is produced through us reflects the righteousness of God, and not the turmoil of the world.Visit us online at http://www.fathershouseportland.org

There are a lot of ways that we can find ourselves hardened to either follow the voice of the Lord, or even love people well. The scary thing is, if we find ourselves in a place of a hard heart, we often don't even realize we have one. This is why it's important to maintain a soft heart before the Lord, so that in His kindness, we can receive His guidance and even correction. In this message, we're going to discuss this important posture, and how we can make sure we're found in a place of welcoming the Lord in our lives, and not pushing Him away.Visit us online at http://www.fathershouseportland.org

It's easy to go through the motions of life and lose perspective of the importance of the things around us. Each of us have been gifted by the Lord to accomplish specific things in this world, and it's God's anointing on our lives that empowers us to see those things carried out. But so often we avoid challenges in front of us because they seem too daunting, but it's those very things that are difficult that place a demand on the anointing that God has given us. In this message, we're going to talk about allowing God to position our lives in a way where we become dependent on Him, and where we can live in faith and walk in the empowerment of the Lord. So often we can get caught up in the endless cycle of staying busy, which most of the time is motivated by trying to accomplish things and getting ahead. Being productive isn't bad, nor is trying to accomplish goals, but if our focus is always on the destination, and not the journey, we're missing the main point of life. This Sunday, pastor Ty is going to be sharing on the importance of staying in the moment, and finding joy in the process, rather than being so destination focused. This will be an important and encouraging word that we all need to hear in the busy times that we live in.Visit us online at http://www.fathershouseportland.org

In a world where darkness has attempted to take over the airwaves. where fear has a grip on the narrative our ears hear, and where white noise has been designed to lull us to sleep, it is important to understand that God's prophetic voice is sharp and clear, and it pierces through the darkness, disrupting the cultural static and the enemy's agenda.
