In this episode of TYP, Geoff Jowett and I talk about the propensity we humans have to keep doing what doesn't work (despite the overwhelming evidence), Geoff's new and improved approach to business and work, creating opportunities (versus hoping they come along), being solution-focused (while acknowledging the problem), the chasm between knowing and doing (theory, application), recognising (and meeting) a gap in the market and as always, there's a liberal smattering of 'Geoff-isms'. Enjoy. thegoeffjowettmethod.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Andrew Simmons is the owner of Vision Personal Training (with more than 50 franchises around Australia). He and I have been mates since the early 90's, when he and the great Geoff Jowett flew down to Melbourne (from Sydney) to have a look at the largest PT Centre in the Southern Hemisphere (my gym) and to ask me a bunch of questions. Since that time, Simmo has well and truly taken over the mantle as the Guru of Australian PT and so, it was fun to catch up, talk sh*t and reflect on our time in fitness and more. Enjoy. visionpersonaltraining.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
I've known Geoff Jowett for a long time; through his mayhem years of drugs, booze, big business, bodybuilding, TV appearances, self-destruction and instant gratification through to Geoff, the clean, sober, inspirational bloke who lives on a farm with four dogs, a family of ducks, two horses and is in bed by 8.30. This was a fascinating chat. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Heads-up… this episode is not about wheelbarrows and only a little about business. TYP favourite Geoff Jowett is back making us laugh, cringe, think and reflect with his unique blend of story-telling, philosophy, business coaching, metaphors and hard-earned wisdom. Enjoy. Going into a conversation with Geoff Jowett is something you don't want to plan for. There's no real point. Just strap in, hold on, try to keep up and don't get in the way. As a host, I endeavour to have a vague idea of topics and ideas that I might explore with a guest but a podcast with Geoff is the conversational equivalent of trying to herd cats. I'm just a passenger on the Geoff bus. A happy passenger. This two-parter covered vast territory as usual and we had fun but I will warn you that the great man gets a little intense, direct and sweary towards the end. Perfect.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This episode is possibly Geoff Jowett at his best. To say he's high on life is an understatement. His passion and energy in this chat are totally captivating and infectious. If you don't know him, Geoff is a curious combination of Philosopher, High-Performance Coach, Storyteller, Motivator and loveable Bogan. If you need a pick-me-up, listen to this. @geoffjowettSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The animal-loving, deep-thinking, nature-loving, story-telling Aussie bogan philosopher is back, waxing lyrical about all-things life, happiness, meaning, purpose and of course, animal therapy (while being interrupted mid-podcast by a Scottish Terrier trying to steal his banana bread). Part mayhem, part discussion, part genius, all Geoff. Enjoy. @geoffjowettSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
TYP Fave Geoffro is back philosophising the sh*t out of me from his rural haven (aka dog heaven), down-loading his wisdom, insight and dare-I-say spirituality (his version anyway) in his own unique bogan-meets-motivational-speaker-meets-Dalai-Lama… style. Enjoy. @geoffjowettSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
I didn't realise how much I missed Geoffro until we reconnected. He is simultaneously grounded, hilarious, inappropriate, wise, laid back and (ironically) full on and this chat was awesome. The guy who, not-too-long-ago was up to his eyeballs in business deals, grinding and hustling, making money, TV appearances, booze, drugs, mayhem, madness and self-destruction, is now the guy living totally sober in the middle of nature with his two horses and four dogs, no television, limited hours of technology, minimal face-to-face human interaction, a crazy long beard and zero external ‘noise'. He has truly unplugged from the madness and reinvented himself from a soul level, up. If you told me eight years ago that the Geoff I knew then, would be living his current existence, I absolutely would not have believed you. We're always talking (on TYP) about growth, evolution, transformation, self-awareness, living our values and choosing our path.. well, take a listen to this. @geoffjowettSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Like me, Geoff Jowett helps people to help themselves. Like me, he cares a lot and has a crack. And like me, he's a bogan. This episode is two chatty, empathic bogans talking about the how, why and when of living our best lives.@geoffjowett
The one-time high-flying, deal-making, fast-talking business mogul turned part-time golfer, equestrian, philosopher, deep thinker, coach, dog dad (that's full time) and TYP favourite, Geoff Jowett is back sharing his thoughts around living consciously and intelligently. Enjoy.@geoffjowett
I always love connecting with Geoff Jowett but this chat was extra raw, real and revealing. Geoff shares about his depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive behaviour, addictive nature, self-destruction and the fact that, without his two beloved dogs (William and Harry), he might not “be around”. We also discuss turning down the internal noise, redefining success, finding our bliss, effectiveness vs. busy-ness, the elusive nature of satisfaction and whether or not contentment and ambition can co-exist. Enjoy.@geoffjowett
This is instalment eight of our 10-part ‘New Year Revolution' series and this needs bloke zero introduction. As always, Geoff is funny, inspiring and direct AF. Enjoy.@geoffjowett
“How have you been?” … “Busy” … “Me too”… “Crazy huh?” … “Yep, flat out” … “Soooo busy”. Ever been in the middle of one of those exchanges? We might just be the ‘busiest', least happy, least fulfilled, most anxious generation ever. This time on TYP, our favourite deep-thinking, high-performing, calm-in-the-chaos loveable larrikin (Geoff Jowett) is back and we talk about the badge of honour that is ‘busy-ness', along with the much-healthier proposition of effectiveness, interwoven with some regular stillness and a smattering of self-awareness. Enjoy.@geoffjowett
In this episode, we discuss how Geoff Jowett has been able to turn his addiction to alcohol and other drugs around.
TYP favourite Geoff Jowett is back and as always, the boys have fun going deep talking about stillness, turning down the internal noise, living the simple life and redefining success. Enjoy.@geoffjowett
This week on Flamingo Sunday's we are joined by serial entrepreneur Geoff Jowett who has literally been there and done it all. From the highest of Highs in business ( Founder of Vision personal training & Body Trim ) to the lowest of lows. Geoff is a visionary and pioneer of the Australian weight loss and fitness industries, having helped millions of people with his programs, gyms and educational resources. But his greatest gifts and contributions have come out of his own personal battles, demons and journey. Jeff “had it all”. Money, fame, popularity and success, but he says at that point he was empty and lost. And his passion was gone. He forgot why he started and lost his purpose. He became an alcoholic and lost everything. In this episode Geoff shares absolute gold around mindset, being a true leader and what the definition of success really is. ENJOY
As part of our more relaxed series, Adrian Bo has an authentic and raw conversation with his good mate Geoff Jowett. Both are working very closely with many high performing agents across the world; Geoff in the mindset space and Adrian in relation to Skills & Dialogue & team structure. This is a 'content packed' session which is a must for all estate agents, principals or any business owner. Some additional information on Geoff Jowett - From young entrepreneur, founder, creating weight loss health empires to alcoholic, bankrupt, depressed and broken. Few people have experienced the dizzying heights and rock bottom lows to the extreme Geoff Jowett has. Geoff started his first business (Vision Personal Training) at the ripe old age of 23 and for many years everything he touched turned to gold. He exited Vision PT to create Bodytrim, one of Australia's most successful and prominent weight loss companies, helping more than 1 million people trim down and generate $40M in annual revenue. At one point it appeared he had it all; money, fame, success, a global business travelling the world, living the dream But Geoff's fast success was also part of his rapid demise. As his bank balance and profile grew so too did his ego and entitlement. He began to see himself as “better” than those around him and started to live life by his own set of rules. With time so too came struggle, mistakes and the failure of his businesses, brands and fast living lifestyle. He says that the struggle and failure was his greatest gift and it gave him a chance to reset and begin to build a life of service, contribution, values, on a foundation of authenticity not media hype and self centeredness. Through this reset Geoff was able to discover a happiness he thought impossible to find and build a life that he loves each day. Today he helps others build their business and grow their life through sharing the lessons and insights he discovered, to help them thrive and avoid the mistakes he made. Whilst he believes “the struggle is the gift” he also hopes that "he made the mistakes so others don't have to".
Addiction doesn't only happen around drugs, gambling, booze and sex. It also happens with food. And work. And shopping. And plastic surgery. Being in control. Attention seeking. Fame. Danger. Exercise. Stealing. Gaming. Comfort. The truth is that most of us are (have been, will be) addicted to something at some stage. It might not be one of the more familiar addictions but it's there, it's real and it causes us to hide decisions and behaviours because deep down, we know we're being irrational, unhealthy and/or self-destructive. In this episode of TYP, Craig and his brother from another mother (Geoff Jowett) talk about their issues and more broadly, the capacity we all have to fall into the addiction trap.
Is ‘success' a measure of fulfillment, or is it also the other way around? Today, we have a chat with Geoff Jowett about finding one's purpose, the pillars that should motivate anyone's drive, steps to building resilience and a pathway to fulfillment, and so much more. So, if you think you've lost your passion and regularly compare yourself with others, this is an episode to get you back up and motivated. In this episode, we cover: Geoff's journey from hitting rock bottom to rebuilding his life [06:10] Success is a feeling, not a number. [09:38] Advice for people who feel limited and lacking [10:58] Don't get stuck with the ‘disease of more' and external validation [12:47] Determine your core purpose and what drives you [15:44] The Three Pillars: Hobbies, Purpose, and Love [17:14] Practical steps to building resilience & a pathway to fulfillment [20:50] Living modestly and being open to change [25:00] Most common characteristics of high-performance individuals [27:11] What makes real estate a beautiful business [33:02] Leaving a legacy by being a good person [36:16] Practical advice in getting a sense of fulfillment in life & business [40:56] About Geoff Geoff Jowett is the co-founder of both Bodytrim and Vision Personal Training Studios (Vision PT), each dedicated to transforming people's lives through health and fitness. He has received the Australian Personal Trainer of the Year Award and is a motivational speaker and a real estate coach who has helped CEOs and Real Estate businessmen achieve success. TYP favourite, Geoff Jowett has reinvented himself over the last few years. The one-time high-flying, drug-taking, ego-driven, money-making entrepreneur had all the trappings of success, but none of the experience. The external show was a façade hiding a plethora of personal issues, challenges, addictions and pain. As many of you know, Geoff hit rock bottom and now describes that painful time as the best thing to ever happen to him. In this episode, we discuss the stories we have around money, tapping into the universal intelligence, the healing power of animals, dealing with criticism and negativity, being fully present, why soft is strong, being addicted to drama, getting triggered, the joy of stillness and the freedom of having nothing to prove. This is maybe my favourite Geoff chat.
The ex-drug-taking, rush-chasing, fast-talking, money-spending, self-destructing Geoff Jowett is back and thankfully, these days the manic entrepreneur has disappeared and the philosopher, teacher, deep thinker and compassionate human has emerged to share his thoughts, ideas and messages in his (truly) unique style. Among other things, we discuss comparison culture, how animals saved Geoff's life, acceptance, being a suicidal addict and coming out the other side, where joy lives, starting over and hitting the reset button on life.www.geoffjowett.com
TYP favourite Geoff Jowett is back and this time he and Craig talk about some of their core principles for living a meaningful, authentic and aligned life.
In this Episode of TYP, one of our favourites (Geoff Jowett) is back sharing the love, laughs, lessons and inspiration in his unique, blunt and funny-AF manner. Among other things, Geoff talks about challenging the status quo, critical thinking, creating a new path, his seven rules (the ones that changed his life) and how he managed to blow a million dollars a year on (don't ask) at the height of his hedonistic lifestyle. Oh, and in the last five minutes he reveals something that almost makes Craig cry.
I knew Geoff Jowett when he was a high-profile, high-flying, multi-millionaire doing all the hustling, media, drugs, booze, sex, spending and distractions. He was smart, charismatic and kind of successful. Kind of because, at the same time, he was also broken, disconnected, addicted, miserable and lost. In the middle of his apparent success, he was mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually bankrupt. That was then but these days, Geoff is a different person. The penthouse has made way for the one bedroom flat. The Maserati for the old Hyundai Getz. The drugs and grog for horses, meditation and nature. The obsessive bodybuilding for golf. The getting for giving. The chaos for calm. And the misery for joy. As a friend, I'm super proud of how far he's come. His realness, rawness, honesty, awareness and humour, make this one of my favourite TYP chats ever. Don't miss it.
About twenty years ago, two young blokes flew from Sydney to see Australia's biggest PT facility in action (mine) and to talk to me about creating their own business. What was meant to be a couple of hours, turned into two days! Not long after that meeting, Andrew Simmons and Geoff Jowett (who's since moved on) created Vision Personal Training and their original idea (to set up one training facility) has morphed into a fitness industry powerhouse, with 59 centres across Australia and New Zealand. In this candid conversation, Andrew and I talk about turning an idea (fitness or other) into a living, breathing business. We also talk about understanding the market, having a point of difference, understanding the needs of clients (no matter what the industry, service or product), evolving and adapting to the ever-shifting business landscape and the personal dangers of ‘becoming' the business.
Geoff is a visionary and pioneer of the Australian weight loss and fitness industries, having helped millions of people with his programs, gyms and educational resources. But his greatest gifts and contributions have come out of his own personal battles, demons and journey. Jowett “had it all”. Money, fame, popularity and success, but he says at that point he was empty and lost. And his passion was gone. He forgot why he started and lost his purpose. He became an alcoholic and lost everything. But he says "he had to lose it all to find himself and it was the best thing that ever happened" and at 42 he is “alive and awake for the first time in 10 years”. He now has a mindset coaching and weight loss community called “The Jowett Method” where he coaches members live 2x a day. He says connection kills addiction and his personal journey has been the catalyst for this movement. Through his suffering and struggle he developed genuine compassion and empathy for others, knowing all too well what it feels like to be in the darkness. His mission now is to bring others out of the dark and into the light. The byproduct of that is weight loss, happiness and health. He no longer writes diet plans per se, but rather dives deeper into the real issues behind the addiction causing people to gain weight and binge eat, drink, or drug, smoke or problem gamble. “This is where the rubber meets the road” says Jowett. “It’s all the same - people use external feel goods to medicate internal pain. They use a numbing agent. Pretty much everyone does it until they have awareness and the tools to change. I escaped my reality with alcohol, most people use food and this is why we have an obesity crisis”. Today Jowett only does 3 things. He has simplified his life and does only what brings him joy, meaning and contribution. He coaches his members in his mindset coaching and weight loss community www.thejowettmethod.com

Geoff Jowett. What a story. From the high-flying, fast-talking, money-making, money-wasting, drug-taking, reality-avoiding, ego-driven, insecure millionaire entrepreneur… to the broke, broken, depressed, suicidal, anxiety-riddled man-child… to the bloke who found peace, purpose, sobriety, contentment and himself in the things he once avoided; stillness, quiet, reflection, isolation and the company of a few animals. This is a great conversation with a bloke who's had (and continues to have) a fascinating journey.

Geoff doesn't believe in the concept of 'The One' and thinks that looking for that one person to 'complete' us is making us unhappy. In Episode #4 of Australian Fitness Podcast, with my guest Geoff Jowett, we go deep. Geoff Jowett at the age of 41 has lived more lives than most. A qualified Exercise Scientist, he soon discovered he had an appetite and skill for business, so he first created Vision PT, one of Australia’s most successful PT franchises. With a hunger for more, he walked away from that business and created BodyTrim, a supplement and weightloss product that became a behemoth in the TV sales space, turning over $35M a year with a staff of 130. Somewhere during this time of madness and mayhem, Geoff learnt he an appetite for more stuff, more status, more everything – or what he calls the disease of more! Geoff has lived fast and large, but today, it’s the complete opposite, its all about purpose, giving back, community and bringing his learnings and lessons to his weight loss community through The Jowett Method. By his own admission, he’s done some great things, some crazy things, he’s been to the edge, battled substance abuse and addiction, and been in some very dark places. This is an interview with a guy who should have known better, who should’ve seen the warning signs, but as a result of going through all of his wins and losses….. guess what folks , he’s figured out we all have the same needs, wants, and weaknesses, no matter what our bank balance shows. I hope you enjoy this very open and powerful chat with Geoff Jowett Facebook : acebook.com/thegeoffjowett/?fb_dtsg_ag=AdwZFVDQcZkPfuEtTDyNVGxP2cRXtD-XZe0s2gZp63Advg%3AAdwDkvMLVmINxyaKqdRdWdpPaV7TRyDEi-8t2qbz94Hs5w Website : http://thejowettmethod.com/ Instagram : @thegeoffjowett
THE GIFT OF DESPERATION. This week Words With Oz hosts a man of many experiences, Geoff Jowett. Geoff is on a mission to make a dent in the world's obesity crisis and he's got a thick resume of experience to help get it done. I'd been following Geoff for some time on social media and have thoroughly been enjoying his message. Geoff's story is one of incredible triumph and unnerving desperation, all of which he now uses to improve the lives of others. From being the head of a $35million+ company to bankruptcy, it's all raw, it's all real and it is all in this podcast. Geoff's specific question was: "Dedicating a life to helping others achieve their happiest and healthiest self inevitably faces the minefield that is commercialising a service heavily vested with emotional dependability. What safeguards do you apply to your method that ensure clients results whilst maintaining your own life and level of living?" We spoke of Geoff's ongoing battle with seeking fulfillment while understanding the need for a commercial end, his views on spirituality, as well as just how low he was. This conversation has plenty of insights worthy of anyone looking to be inspired. The Daily Talk Show — Friday June 22 (Ep 114) - Josh Janssen & Tommy Jackett You might recognise our guest Geoff Jowett's distinct voice. In the mid 2000s he was prominent on Australia's biggest morning TV shows, selling his weight-loss solution, Bodytrim. Through drug, alcohol and sex addiction, Geoff lost it all. His rock bottom experience has helped him create a new life for himself; with an ego in check and a greater mindfulness of what life really is all about. Geoff's new program, The Jowett Method - http://thejowettmethod.com/ The Daily Talk Show is on Instagram! https://www.instagram.com/thedailytalkshow/ Send us mail: PO BOX 400, Abbotsford VIC 3067 Email: hi@thedailytalkshow.com http://www.thedailytalkshow.com/
Co-Founder of one of Australia's largest fitness franchises, Vision Personal Training, Geoff Jowett has seen some extreme highs and lows and some may see him as a controversial to say the least. He fills us in on all his mistakes made and doesn't hold anything back when telling listeners about his struggle with drug and alcohol addiction, losing everything and the contemplation to take his own life. This is a mind blowing story on how Geoff has turned things around (now 16 months clean) to live a more authentic life based around what he values and provides listeners with some tactics on how they can do the same. @thegeoffjowettmethod http://geoffjowett.com/ @lordoftherig
In this episode of Industry Change, I sat down with long time fitness industry expert, Geoff Jowett. Geoff was involved as an original founder of Vision Personal Training, where he saw great success in building boutique personal training studios. He went on to have major success with the BodyTrim brand. And yet even after all the fame, all the money, all the ego - he hit rock bottom. After going through rehab and alcoholics anonymous he realised that he needed to find his true north again. And so set out to discover that what he was really passionate about, what lit him up inside was building communities and seeing people succeed in those communities. You see communities are a game changer. In a world where we have more 'social' interaction than we've ever had before - we're actually more lonely than we've ever been, we're more disconnected than we've ever been. Communities, whether it be online, offline or a hybrid of the two - create a place where people realise that they are not along. That other people are on the same journey as they are. Geoff shares with me his three rules for building winning tribes: 1. Communities Need to be a safe place. 'What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,' right? That's exactly how communities need to be built. Everyone needs to know that the tribe is a safe place to share - that what they share will not go outside the group. 2. Leaders must lead. If you want people to be open, vulnerable and honest in the group, then you as the leader must exhibit that behaviour first. No exception. You can't just tell people what to do you have to lead by example. 3. Share the wins. Make your communities a place where people can share their wins. Because, unfortunately we live in a 'tall poppy' world, where you get cut down quickly if you share your wins. So communities MUST be a place where everyone is able to share their wins. Geoff has been around the personal training industry for a while and believes that even on a small budget personal trainers can have real success through building communities, creating social proof through before and after photos, testimonials, etc. weight loss challenges (everyone loves a bit of competition) and bringing people together online and offline. A visionary, bodybuilding champion and Australian personal trainer of the year, Geoff has helped others to lose over two million plus kilos… and turned that success into a $35 million business. Geoff was the skinny kid bullied at the local train station, and took that feeling of vulnerability to heart and used it to fuel his bodybuilding, fitness and weight loss empire. From a morning TV staple who has felt the highs to the very deep lows – and came out with a great story to tell. In this episode, Nick finds out more about the man behind the pitch, and the journey Geoff has travelled on throughout his career.
