In Luke 9 and Luke 10 Jesus sent two different groups on very similar missions. In Luke 9:1-2 He sent the twelve: “Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” In Luke 10:1-9, He sent the seventy: “After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.” “…. And heal the sick there, and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you” (v. 9).   We need to note that the special power that Jesus gave to His Apostles (Luke 9:1) and to the Seventy (Luke 10:9), is not ours to claim today. They were sent to proclaim that the King was there because Jesus was there, and also they were given the power to heal. These two preaching missions were very special ministries, and God did not promise to duplicate them in our age. Our Lord's commission to us emphasizes the proclamation of the message, not the performing of miracles (Matthew 28:19-20; Luke 24:46-49).   This does not mean that we can't pray for people to be healed, as we are encouraged to do in James 5. We can pray for miracles, but I'm convinced that the “sign” gifts were only for the early church and not for today as we have the complete Word of God, the Bible to preach and proclaim. God can definitely do miracles and heal people today, but I have yet to meet or know of anyone with the special gift to heal. If I did, I would encourage them to go to the nearest hospital and clear it out.   In Luke 10, when Jesus sent the seventy on their special mission, He first reminded them that their calling was a difficult one. They were like laborers in the harvest fields and their task was more than they could handle by themselves, and an important aspect of their work would be to pray for more laborers. Next the Lord warned them that their ministry would be dangerous. They would be like lambs among wolves. They would be hated and persecuted by the world that loves the pleasures of their sins more than they desire to be delivered from them.   Now in Luke 10:4-11, Jesus is probably detailing the greatest problem and difficulty in fulfilling their calling and task. Especially if you read these verses carefully, Jesus is reminding them that their work would require discipline and faith and they would face the “Weapons of Mass Distractions”. The first distractions Jesus mentioned was worrying about money, food, and clothing: “Carry neither money bag, knapsack, nor sandals”. They might be distracted with people wanting to waste their time talking about temporal things: “and greet no one along the road”.   They could be distracted by who receives them or rejects them. Or maybe by a better house to stay in. Jesus seems to be pretty specific about the danger of all these distractions. When people have asked me over the years how they could pray for me, I would most often reply: “Pray that I don't keep getting distracted”! I have found that I'm not easily discouraged, but I most definitely get easily distracted. Especially with the technology of media and cell phones today! If today's chat is not for anyone else, it is for me!   We used to say that the devil's best tool to keep believers from serving was “discouragement”. But today, I think it might be “distractions”, like Jesus points out in this passage!   May the Lord help us today to keep focused on our main responsibility and calling, which is to share Jesus with the world around us!   God bless!

This chanting is a very intimate way of connecting with God. We're using our mouth, our tongue—the very place where we can express things to other people. We can make ourselves known, and over and over again, we're making ourselves known to Krishna. We may not even know what we're doing at first, but that's why we have to be careful and put some guardrails on the way we act in our life so we don't sully the process of chanting. In our mind, we're ready for it when we chant. If we just stay ready for chanting in our lives, then we show up for it in a way that we're appreciating that these syllables are not just syllables of liberation, but of reestablishing our relationship with Kṛṣṇa. It is our relationship with Kṛṣṇa when we're chanting. It's direct. Again, we may not see it exactly at first, but then we can take it as medicine,what Avneesh Prabhu said in the beginning, he takes it because his doctor told him, "And here's your prescription, You take this." But we have to remain intelligent also. We can't fall into laziness, we can't get distracted by inferior goals. This spiritual life is a serious thing. We have a short amount of time in this life, and it's very valuable. No matter whatever nonsense is going on In the world with people whimsically wasting their time arguing about politics, and arguing about, let's see, what else? Sports and business and economics and, lovey-dovey everything. All over the world, everyone's all enamored and then later on, they're not enamored. And then they think, "Why did I waste my time?" Yeah, why did you? So the fact is that this isn't a waste of time; it's the best use of time 'vyavasāyātmikā buddhir ekeha kuru-nandana' (BG 2.41). There's nothing better than this. And it is the direct process of worshiping Kṛṣṇa that the names are real, and they're Kṛṣṇa himself. And the syllables are easy to chant too because it's 16 syllables, three names, nice divisions, and you can just enter into that trance. So that's our main process. The truth is that most of us in the field of canine rehab never planned on being an entrepreneur. It is not why we went to PT or vet school, nor the reason why we became a canine rehab therapist. All we wanted to do was help some dogs, but somewhere along that journey we realized that the only way for us to be able to do so on our own terms would be if we opened your own business, and then we became an entrepreneur. But, the problem is that we never learned anything about business or entrepreneurship in school or during our certification, but there are certain key skills and qualities that we can learn to leverage as entrepreneurs. Live from STUDIO G- in the heart of America- I'm STEVE GRUBER- saying the things you wish you could -every day-  fighting for you from the Foxhole of Freedom and defending this great nation-- this is THE STEVE GRUBER SHOW!   Here are 3 big things you need to know right now—   Number One— Despite all the talk about how great Bidenomics is—inflation is crushing families—especially when it comes to buying food, energy and shelter—at least its only the things you must have to survive—   Number Two— Ukraines President Volodymir Zelenskyy has cancelled the elections scheduled for March—which is weird because I thought we were spending hundreds of billions of dollars to protect Democracy—   Number Three— While we continue to get distracted by so many things every day—the bleeding at the southern border continues—and its so bad—that the northern border is now hemorrhaging too—nearly 190,000 illegals came from the north last year—and that is more than the last 10 years combined—   And all the while as we show you all the time—the Director of Homeland Security just keeps lying about it—and just keeps saying the border is secure—when we all know that is not the case—and the estimates range from 6 million to as many as 15 million people have flowed into this country in just the past 3 years—   And just like $33.5 Trillion dollars in debt is not sustainable—neither is this unrestricted invasion of people—that are not citizens—and most never will be—sadly millions of them will just be looters who mooch off the system—like any other parasite—and they expect the host to take care of it—   And how bad is it—lets take a look—   I mean that parade is going on all day long—every day of the week—and that is just one airport in a medium sized city in Arizona—so you have to wonder how many of these illegals are streaming through other airports and bus stops hoping to catch a ride to your town—so you can pick up the bill—   And why do you think this is happening right now—when it did not happen under the watchful eye of Donald Trump during his first term in office? I think you know—BUT if you have any doubt who the illegals want to thank for the chance to come in illegally—well…   But instead of paying attention to the explosion of humanity on the border—that is overwhelming our resources at the local state and federal level—this administration and this President—well, they have very different priorities—   And when it comes to considering what is important—you the American citizen and taxpayer come in dead last—BUT remember its always in the name of Democracy—   All of this failure in the West Wing is having an impact as voters by the millions are now turning their backs on Biden, the socialists, the globalists—and everyone who makes it seem that citizenship is worthless—and honest people know what is happening—and yes they can be honest—even if you don't like them all that much—   And yet there is one guy who thinks approval ratings in the mid 30's is a vote of confidence and an endorsement of a job well-done—   So while we are funding a defense of Ukraine's border while surrendering our own we should at least consider what that could mean down the road right?   Well you don't have to go too far to get some answers—because we can find them on the streets of London—   And don't think for a second that cannot happen here—it can—in fact its already happening—
