Bills to pay…so back to work! We are back in the studio after a successful St. Paddy's Day .01k on Saturday at Brothers in La Crosse. Big thanks to everyone who came out & supported the cause! In the news this morning, four people got stuck on a sheet of ice in the bay of Green Bay over the weekend, the astronauts that were stranded on the I.S.S. were finally rescued, Starbucks was ordered to pay $50 million to a delivery driver who was severely burned by their coffee, a huge pile-up on a highway in Kansas left eight dead & many more injured, and there's a recall on some flavors of International Delight coffee creamer. In sports, the Bucks lost to the Thunder last night, and the Badgers lost to Michigan yesterday in the Big Ten Tournament championship game. Alexander Ovechkin scored his 887th career goal this weekend to move within eight of breaking Gretzky's record, and we took a look at the upcoming men's basketball tourney in the NCAA. `Today is St. Paddy's Day(duh), so we took a look at some stats & info on green foods and popular beers. Elsewhere in sports, Josh Berry got a win in Las Vegas yesterday, the NFL free agency period continued this weekend with big signings by the Bengals…and Kirk Cousins who is staying in Atlanta. Plus, a touching moment for Dick Vitale on Saturday. We let you know what's on TV tonight and talked about a new documentary that claims Jim Morrison of the Doors is still alive! Plus, Gary Oldman LOVES farts. Apparently, science is working on a new kind of grapefruit that won't mess with your blood pressure meds. Who knew? Plus, 2nd Floor Sarah stopped by to talk about what's happening in our area this week, and a breakdown of the most popular songs used in TV & film. Did you see the Bulls banners that got damaged by the pyro at a Disturbed show recently? Ope! And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about injectible marijuana, eating rats in NYC, a woman who was running an illegal dentist office out of her home, a California woman who withdrew from her city council appointment after they discovered her OnlyFans account, and a mother of a 9 day-old baby & a toddler who left them home alone to go drinking. Happy St Patrick's DaySolid bounce on Wall St om Friday. Dow Jones up 675 points closing near the high. S&P 500 up 2.13%. Nasdaq the outperformer. Up 2.6%. Its best session since November. Boosted by both Big Tech and Big Chips. That said…there was no new macro-catalyst for the buying. Sometimes the only reason the market needs for a bounce is that things get oversold. For the week, the Dow Jones lost 1314 points, S&P 500 down 2.3% and the Nasdaq lost 2.4%. Our market fell 2%, leading the bounce in global stocks with a 0.5% rise yesterday.Consumer sentiment and inflation expectations aligned with the Trump tariff/stagflation uncertainty narrative. Both coming in worse than expected, hitting levels not seen since November 2022. On the positive side, the Senate passed a stopgap spending bill to avoid yet another government shutdown.SPI up 85 points. SPR/RMS to mergeWant to invest with Marcus Today? I am getting ready to have a day off tomorrow and will get to chores and baking for the "Wild Hog in the Woods" usual Friday night concert that we host at a neighborhood center here in Madison.
