Issac del Toro stangede Remco Evenepoel i ørkenen. Medvirkende: Per Bausager & Anders Mielke.
Randy and Dean Warren talk about the latest in professional cycling as well as sometimes their own cycling exploits. The Warren brothers flow in conversation from race to race recounting last weeks Paris-Nice stage and Tirreno-Adriatico events to the upcoming monument Milan-Sanremo. Both Randy and Dean are pretty certain that Tadej Pogačar will not win and Randy surmises he may never win this race.
This week we discuss two great stage races for the price of one admission, Tirreno-Adriatico with its trident and Paris-Nice and it's whatever they win. Daniel Friebe and Lionel Birnie return to discuss the latest racing and news in professional cycling - this week in the company of Tudor Pro Cycling ace Larry Warbasse aka ‘The Motown Maestro'. Fresh(ish) from finishing Tirreno-Adriatico, Larry delivers his verdicts from The Race of the Two Seas. Who, if anyone, was hot in the often frigid weather conditions? And who still has work to do ahead of Milan-Sanremo on Saturday. Daniel spent the week on the other side of the Med at an even soggier Paris-Nice. We discuss a successful title defence for Matteo Jorgenson there and other highlights. There's also the latest instalment of ‘Coorevits Corner', plus some pre-Sanremo speculation.
Johan Bruyneel and Spencer Martin welcome on Sir Bradley Wiggins to break down Matteo Jorgenson's incredible performance to win his second-consecutive Paris-Nice title and UAE's Juan Ayuso's overall win at Tirreno-Adriatico. They analyze Magnus Sheffield's masterclass on the treacherous final stage in Nice, Filippo Ganna's surprising climbing prowess and Jonathan Milan's dominance in the sprints in Italy. Plus, they debate what these performances signal for the season ahead—who's primed for Milan-Sanremo, Jorgenson's potential as a future Tour de France contender, and whether we're witnessing a shift in the sport's power dynamics. Lionel Birnie, Rob Hatch and Brian Nygaard recap Strade Bianche, where Tadej Pogačar recovered from a crash, picked himself up from the adjacent field and still managed to see off a spirited challenge from Tom Pidcock. We ask whether Pidcock should have waited – and whether, indeed, waiting was what he did – and discuss what the rest of the peloton can do to stop Pogačar when he's in such irrepressible mood. With the peloton split between two week-long stage races, Paris-Nice and Tirreno-Adriatico, this week we keep an eye on the likely storylines, including an aggressive start to the Race to the Sun. This week's episode of The Cycling Podcast is a special dispatch from the Côte d'Azur, partly recorded at the home of our own Captain America - better known to us as Décathlton-AG2r La Mondiale's ‘Motown Maestro' Larry Warbasse - and featuring an exclusive interview with Visma-Lease a Bike's newly crowned Paris-Nice champion, Matteo Jorgenson, on the morning after his triumph on the Promenade des Anglais. Larry and Daniel Friebe kick off with a recap of some of the week's big stories, including Paris-Nice. Jorgenson's victory was the most important in his flourishing career to date - and, over coffee in Nice's Vieux Port, the Californian by birth, Idahoer by upbringing and Niçois by adoption tells Daniel how he overcame pre-race favourite Remco Evenepoel and childhood friend Brandon McNulty. After that, also in Nice, we hear journalist François Thomazeau's reflections on what was due to be his final Race to the Sun. In the last part, it's back to Larry's secluded hideaway in Èze to hear about his week in Italy at Tirreno-Adriatico. Larry will also be in action at Milano-Sanremo at the weekend - and he reveals some of the secrets of La Classicissima here, while also pondering what Tadej Pogačar has to do to win.
