Did you know that the “rounding rule” allows manufacturers to hide ingredients in your food if it's less than 500 mg per serving size? There are also over 200 different words for sugar! These misleading practices could mean you're consuming dangerous ingredients without knowing. Incidental additives are ingredients that have a function that's not related to texture, flavor, or a preservative. If these ingredients are less than 5% of the finished product, they don't have to list it on the label. Maltodextrin is a common incidental ingredient. It's a carbohydrate that acts more like sugar in the body and has a glycemic index of 180 compared to table sugar, which is only 74. Hexane is one of the most dangerous ingredients in food. Its residue is often found in products containing soy protein isolates, which are commonly added to bars, veggie burgers, and plant-based products. Hexane is a chemical solvent used to extract this protein from the soybean. The CDC classifies hexane as a neurotoxin, and the EPA considers it hazardous air pollution. However, no regulatory body measures the amount of hexane in food. Sugar-free products can often spike your blood sugar because of other hidden ingredients. Always check the ingredient list and pay attention to the following products and labels: •No added sugar •Sugar-free products with carbohydrates •Sugar-free gum •Corn syrup solids •Sugar-free, non-dairy creamers Iodine turns blue when combined with starch. Add a drop or two of iodine to a glass of water, and watch products with hidden starch turn blue or purple when you mix them in!
We have a great chat about some crazy news stories.... Hexane, Seed oils, Chemtrails, Sex workers rights, Canadian Internet Bill obfuscation, Jim Brewer clip, and Kevin Hart shushing Kelly Clarkson. In the second half we show JRE show about Bayer and sacrifices on the alter of science - Brigham Buhler on the Dark History of the Medical Industrial Complex. What are excess 'provisional' deaths in Canada and why their new dashboard? How many Gov't workers in Canada since 2015? CDC Vaers Cancer data, the letter to US Military Leaders re experimentation, ELF's in Obama's movie, the Davos battle for our Brain, and AHS pedophile's exposed are all discussed. Get ready to dive deep into the controversial world of seed oils with the brilliant Dr. Sarah Zaldivar! In this episode, we explore seed oils' origin, processing, and impact on our health. Dr. Zaldivar emphasizes the importance of balancing omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and how our modern diet throws that balance out of whack. But don't worry, she has some amazing advice and recommendations for using healthier alternatives to improve our overall health. Plus, we'll uncover the limitations of studies promoting seed oils and the truth behind their role in obesity. Dr. Sarah Zaldivar is a weight loss expert with a history of overcoming binge eating disorder, depression, anxiety, and weight struggles. She has lost over 25 pounds of body fat through implementing mindset shifts, a primal diet, and exercise plans. She holds a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology & Nutrition and is a licensed dietitian, certified personal trainer, and an ACSM-certified Exercise Physiologist. She currently teaches nutrition at Miami Dade College and DeVry University while creating content on various social media platforms. Key Highlights: [00:01 - 03:10] Opening Segment Sarah first explains seed oil which is known as vegetable oil, where it originated, and how it evolved in the food industry. They were originally produced from cotton production waste products and used for engine lubricants before being introduced into the food supply. Seed oils are heavily processed and deodorized to mask their off-putting smell. [03:11 - 10:15] Extraction and Refinement Process of Seed Oils They explain the process of extracting oil from nuts and seeds, including cleaning, stripping, heating, and pressing. Hexane is a neurotoxin that can harm the nervous system, but it is commonly used in the food industry to extract fat from protein. They also discuss the process of refining oil to remove colors, odors, and bitterness. [10:16 - 15:00] Balancing Omega-3 and Omega-6 Sarah reiterates that the ideal omega-3 to omega-6 is 1:1, traditionally found in paleo-ancestral animal diets. The modern American who eats a standard American diet gets 20 to 25 times more omega-6 than omega-3, which is a problem because they both compete or function in the body. She explains that omega-6 and omega-3 need equal amounts for the body to function properly. [15:01 - 36:59] Omega-3 and Omega-6 Meta-Analysis Studies Sarah points out the limitations of Hong Sue in 2017 study, including the lack of consideration of differences in the source and quality of omega-six fatty acids. She also highlights the problem of excess consumption of omega-six fatty acids, which is common in the Western diet. A study by GH Johnson and Kevin Ritchie suggests that the majority of evidence shows that omega-six polyunsaturated fatty acids, including linoleic acid, can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Sarah questions this specific study because it only looked at a few inflammatory markers and did not compare an ancestral diet to the Mediterranean diet. A study by Ivanna JK and Philip C Calder found an association between moderate intake of omega-6s and a lower risk of cardiovascular disease, possibly as a result of lower blood cholesterol concentration. [37:00 - 46:47] Closing Segment They discuss the prevalence of Omega-6 in the standard American diet and its impact on inflammation. They also talk about the funding sources of certain studies that suggest the benefits of seed oils. The study found that coconut oil did not significantly affect markers of glycemia inflammation and adiposity, but it contains Phytosteroids that can mess up hormones. Olive and avocado oil are better options than seed oils, but plant antinutrients and self-defense chemicals can cause different reactions in different people. Eating whole foods like meats, eggs, and dairy instead of processed foods is better for your health. Cutting out seed oils may also be beneficial due to their potential inflammation-causing properties. Key Quotes: “Saturated fat and animal fat cannot cause heart disease if you don't first have correlation.” - Dr. Sarah Zaldiva “The burden of proof should be on this new paradigm of eating, not on our ancestral way of eating. We shouldn't be defending our ancestral way of eating that made us human when we were far a far healthier bunch.” - Dr. Sarah Zaldiva “They are both essential fatty acids (Omega 3s and 6s) You must get them both from your diet; otherwise, you cannot be alive.” - Dr. Sarah Zaldiva CONNECT WITH DR. Abstract: Hypoxia in disease describes persistent low oxygen conditions, observed in a range of pathologies, including cancer. In the discovery of biomarkers in biological models, pathophysiological traits present a source of translatable metabolic products for the diagnosis of disease in humans. Part of the metabolome is represented by its volatile, gaseous fraction; the volatilome. Human volatile profiles, such as those found in breath, are able to diagnose disease, however accurate volatile biomarker discovery is required to target reliable biomarkers to develop new diagnostic tools. Using custom chambers to control oxygen levels and facilitate headspace sampling, the MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell line was exposed to hypoxia (1% oxygen) for 24 hours. The maintenance of hypoxic conditions in the system was successfully validated over this time period. Targeting and non-targeting gas chromatography mass spectrometry approaches revealed four significantly altered volatile organic compounds when compared to control cells. Three compounds were actively consumed by cells: methyl chloride, acetone and n-Hexane. Cells under hypoxia also produced significant amounts of styrene. This work presents a novel methodology for identification of volatile metabolisms under controlled gas conditions with novel observations of volatile metabolisms by breast cancer cells. It is almost a dogma on social media that vegetable oils are iNfLaMmAtOrY aNd ToXiC. However, this is a dogma that has been tested many times and consistently shown not to be true. But what about hexane? Does hexane in vegetable oils pose some kind of health risk?Key facts:1. You would need to drink more than 100 swimming pools worth of vegetable oils in one sitting to have a 50% chance of dying from the hexane;2. Hexane in food accounts for only about 2% of total daily exposure to hexane, making vegetable oils the least of our worries.Next time, ask whether it is toxic to drive.===Like, comment, subscribe. For more, find me at: WEBSITE http://thedietwars.comTWITTER https://twitter.com/kevinnbass/https://twitter.com/healthmisinfo/INSTAGRAM https://instagram.com/kevinnbass/TIKTOK https://tiktok.com/@kevinnbassAnd above all, please donate to support what I do.PATREON https://patreon.com/kevinnbass/DONATE https://thedietwars.com/support-me/

The teams dug into recently publicized campaigns of the cyber espionage threat group Lyceum (aka HEXANE, Spirlin) to further analyze the operational infrastructure and victimology of this actor. The team's findings corroborate and reinforce previous ClearSky and Kaspersky research indicating a primary focus on computer network intrusion events aimed at telecommunications providers in the Middle East. Additionally, the research expands on this victim set by identifying additional targets within internet service providers (ISPs) and government agencies. Although all victim-identifying information has been redacted, this report seeks to provide these targeted industry and geographic verticals with additional knowledge of the threat and mitigation opportunities. On this date in 1981, more than two miles of streets in Louisville, Kentucky, were destroyed by a sewer explosion. Here are some things you might not have known about the incident. A Ralston Purina soybean processing plant suffered a massive leak of hexane, which was used as a solvent to extract soybean oil. Hexane is a highly flammable chemical that is a component of gasoline. The hexane entered the city’s sewer and gradually spread through the system, just waiting for a spark. At 5:16 a.m., a car near the intersection of 12th and Hill streets ignited sewer gases, triggering a series of explosions near the University of Louisville. Police officers in a helicopter said the blasts resembled a military bombing run. More than two miles of sewer lines were destroyed, and nearby homes and businesses were heavily damaged. Water lines to other homes and businesses were cut, leaving some residents without water for weeks. No one was killed in the explosions. Ralston Purina paid $18 million to the Louisville sewer district and almost $9 million to the more than 16,000 plaintiffs who suffered damages. The company admitted releasing hexane, but denied negligence. Our question: Louisville serves as the worldwide air hub for what package delivery company? Price Foundation journal, Wise Traditions. Chris is a sought-after nutrition expert and a seasoned researcher on the interactions between vitamins, essential fatty acids, and cholesterol. Enjoy the show, and please share it with your friends and family. [powerpress channel="podcast"] Show Notes Fat in our diet is important as it carries fat-soluble vitamins with it. It assists in the absorption of fat-soluble nutrients from vegetables. That's why it's important to add good fats to salads and vegetables. Fats helps to make food delicious but also more satiating. Favorite fats include butter and egg yolks, excellent for reproduction. Animal fats are next, but it really depends on how animals are raised. Natural state, free-range, grass-fed animals have more nutritious fats. Avoid factory-farmed animal products and go for grass-fed ones instead. Grain-fed and vegetable-oil-fed animals typically produce bad fats. Tropic plant-based fats are coconut oil, cocoa butter, and red palm tree oil. Non-tropic ones are olive oil, macadamia nut oil, peanut oil, and sesame oil. Avoid chemically processed oils, like soybean, corn, canola, and cottonseed. "Bad" oils have highly industrialized processes and solvents to extract them. They are bleached, deodorized, and have high levels of hexane for extraction. Hexane is toxic, and many soy-based foods to contain hexane residue. Cold-pressed oils are not perfect but better than solvent-based extraction. Overconsumption is not good as it increases polyunsaturated fatty acids. Corn oil is almost exclusively Omega-6, which makes you Omega-3 deficient. The language of "pro-inflammatory vs. anti-inflammatory" is misleading. Inflammation to a point is actually good (incites inflammation resolution). EPA (high dose fish oil) is close to non-steroidal anti-inflammatories. Interfering in the initiation of inflammation vs. resolution of it. High doses can interfere with both the initiation and the resolution. Anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs, Cox-inhibitors, etc) are therefore bad. Similarly, any natural "anti-inflammatories" in high doses are bad, too. It's better to give enough to our bodies to regulate inflammation instead. Use natural food sweeteners like raw honey or unrefined sugars. Balance is key, such as simple, utilitarian foods and gourmet foods. Everything in moderation is fine, including intermittent fasting. Fasting can be stressful, but stress is not always a bad thing. The point is to listen to your body and see how it responds to food. Try to include some liberal sources of nutrient-dense foods. Include organ meats, fish liver oils, bones for soups and broths. Cod liver oil is rich in vitamins A and D, and Omega fatty acids. Used for helping joint-tissue disorders with autoimmune components. Helps a variety of deficiencies that lead to blindness and rickets. Also used as preventative in many illnesses including common cold. Best source is unheated Cod liver oil, like Blue Ice and Corganic. Vitamins A, D, and K are fat-soluble vitamins that work synergistically. They help calcium and magnesium absorption, and regulate calcification. These vitamins are important in child development and in old age.
