Understanding Low Iron and Ferritin Many people are told they are iron deficient simply because their iron or ferritin levels appear low on a blood test. But iron physiology is far more complex than most people realize. His A1C went from normal to a high 9.1 in 10 months because of visceral fat around his pancreas. Doctors told him this disease was progressive and incurable, but Chris refused that sentence. He researched and found a simple strategy focused on using soluble fiber to control blood sugar spikes. This method forces weight loss naturally by providing bulk, reducing hunger, and mitigating the effect of sugar. His approach involves practical, everyday systems like habit stacking and focusing on food volume to give control back to the individual.   Key Takeaways Type 2 diabetes is caused by the accumulation of visceral fat (more than a gram or two) on the pancreas, which hinders its function. It has been known since the 1970s that you can absolutely reverse diabetes. In this episode, we detail connections between H. pylori and hypochlorhydria, while highlighting possible downstream effects on nutrient absorption. We examine how reduced gastric acidity can impair the liberation and assimilation of certain micronutrients, including iron, calcium, vitamin B12, and more; and we further discuss the impact of low stomach acid upon downstream digestive enzyme activation and gut microbial balance. The discussion also highlights the role of compromised gastric acidity in conditions such as small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO).Topics:1. Hypochlorhydria - Low stomach acid.- Aging, autoimmune gastritis, chronic PPI use, H. pylori infection.2. For a guy who became a cop because of Super Troopers, Lieutenant Matt Thornton is doing pretty well in law enforcement. He started his career in the jail, where he was known as the “Inmate Whisperer” for his ability to calm inmates with psychological issues. When he went to Patrol, he realized that deputies are first and foremost members of the community, and that it's hard for people to yell at you if you're talking to them nicely. But don't let that genial demeanor fool you – he's worked in Narcotics and the Violent Crimes Task Force, putting some of the worst criminals in jail. He's done a lot for the youth of Pinellas County too, both the good ones and the bad ones. Are there bad kids? Well, there are kids who commit five or more felonies in a year, and he developed groundbreaking ways to keep them from reoffending, and arresting them if they do. Now he's in Youth Services, keeping our schools safe with SROs and inspiring the leaders of tomorrow with the Cadets. ICL Professional Horticulture Technical Manager Andrew Wilson explains what water soluble fertilisers are and how they can be applied directly to the plant through drip irrigation and foliar application. He explains how to apply them through a diluter, overhead irrigation or drip irrigation. WSF's are usually applied as a supplementary feed in combination with a Controlled Release Fertiliser such as Osmocote 5. So you can learn how to stick to a diet and not get hungry. Whatever diet you decide is right for you. Hunger is your worst enemy. If only you could eat until you feel full and stay feeling full. Wait. You can. I'll let you in on a little secret. The key is fiber.  Every year 45 million Americans go on a diet, whether it's to lose weight or get healthy, most people are lucky to last six months.  And if it's a strict diet, it's even less than that.  There are a lot of good reasons to diet besides losing weight. Like managing high blood pressure, controlling diabetes, lowering cholesterol, and preventing dementia and cancer. Not only does fiber keep your belly feeling full.  It keeps your bowels regular and promotes a healthy gut microbiome which can influence auto-immune and allergic responses as well as help maintain a healthy weight. Soluble means it's going to dissolve in liquid, either water or bodily fluids. And this type of fiber  is found in foods like fruit, oats, and beans. It's made up of carbohydrates, but your body can't digest it. On the other hand, insoluble fiber does not dissolve in water and other bodily fluids. It's found in the cell walls of plants like wheat and other grains think bran. And your body can't digest it either.  Instead it stays in the colon and does its job.  since one of the biggest things that will derail your efforts to stick to a diet is hunger. I have some great news for you. If you're hungry, you should eat. That's right. Starving yourself.
