Yes, I am borrowing the Marxist tactic of employing unnecessary "over the top" headlines to sensationalize! (This is supposed to trick you into forgetting what the article is about--but the allegations in the headline are so ridiculous they won't be forgotten.) This is a cursory reminder that the LAST people who should complain about cybersecurity attacks from China are those who: Brag about being chummy with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Made deals giving military technology to the CCP that deceived the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) on tech applications Think offshoring to China (bad for the environment good for communist regimes) is a way to "Build Back Better". Look no further than Sid Blumenthal's phishing mistake, Hillary's "bidet bungle", or Imran Awan and his family to see why Democrats are begging to be hacked, daily.
Seth Rich, the Podesta emails, the Imran Awan scandal and Shadow INC. A generation of political operatives like Tara McGowan getting DNC boomers to pivot to digital. The result? Blake Percival, became a Whistle-blower in July of 2011 when he exposed that the United States Investigation Service, USIS, was billing the U.S. Government for background investigations that had not been properly reviewed. Among the clearances not properly reviewed by USIS were; Edward Snowden, Aaron Alexis, and Imran Awan. For 4 ½ years he was not allowed to talk about the case, but once it settled in December of 2015 that changed. Blake is appalled by the partisan nature in which this hearing is being handled in comparison to his own case, where it took a very long time to get the attention of the DOJ. Did you know that driving a Tesla results in more CO2 emissions? Craig discussed this with Jack Heath, as well as Senator Hassan's aide stealing gigabytes of data from the her office. Airing date: 04/29/2019 Driving A Tesla Results In More CO2 - Senate Gets Hit By Insider Hackers - Sen Hassan Craig Peterson 0:00 Hey, good morning, everybody. I've been a little reluctant with some of my Security Thing podcasts. I have just been so busy and I just don't think I'm going to be able to get to it this week either because I am going to the derby. I'm going to be out in Kentucky. So it's going to be a busy week for me. How's that for fun, eh? The private boxes and everything. I'll man's can be fun. Anyhow. I'll return and report next week. This morning I was on with Jack Heath on New Hampshire today, which of course covers the whole state of New Hampshire and parts of all of the surrounding states. And we had a good little discussion. And by the way, Jack just won an award. Because if you know New Hampshire at all, you know our state sport is politics, right? We are first in the nation when it comes to primary. We are a very small state, we actually get to press the flesh with these Congress critters, people running for office, particularly presidents. So we see them all. We talked to them all. We vet them all. So it's a big deal. So Jack just won an award for his coverage of politics, because he has everybody on both sides of the aisle in the middle as well. So it's kind of fun. So congratulations to Mr. Jack Heath for that. And this morning, we talked about a couple of problems and problems the democrats have been having when it comes to hiring bad IT talent. And that came out right home to New Hampshire. That jack corrected me I was calling her senator Hassan I guess she pronounces it Hassan. So Senator Hassan and her aide, big story there. So we talked about that. And then another study out showing that these electric cars are not zero emissions vehicles. In fact, they produce about 20% more carbon dioxide. Then some of the diesel's out there. So here we go with Mr. Heath. Have a great day everybody. Jack Heath 2:06 in the next hour, but right now joining us on the Auto Fair listener lines is our own Tech Tech Talk guy. Tech Talk guy Craig Peterson. How are you sir? Craig 2:14 Hey, I'm doing well. By the way. We have a horse running this year but not in the Kentucky Derby yet. But my daughter also of course from New Hampshire, we raised some horses here. She's now for the last couple of years been a manager to farm out in Kentucky called Winning Star when they won the Triple Crown last year. Justify was their horse. Jack 2:36 Wow, I've heard the name. Good for your daughter. You must be a proud dad. Craig 2:39 Yeah, isn't that neat? I'm going to be out there this weekend. In fact for the running of the Kentucky Derby so yeah. It will be fun. Jack 2:46 Good stuff. And hold on before I get to your stuff I just gonna say it's not really I guess, high tech talk but if you heard about the two Canadian suspects who are, I think they're going to be charged they formally they basically one some alert folks in Hudson notice one person kept going back to this ATM but I guess they they made an arrest of this ring. But the ATM they rip it off in Massachusetts and in I guess New Hampshire so they get a lot of cash for the other one I thought of Craig on Friday, I talked about this Seacoast online had a story out at Kittery, Maine. Did you hear this one? 45 victims, they say in the Kittert area alone. And the suspects' four men from Florida. If I have the story, correct, were basically using the United States Postal, you know the the delivery system that will tell you something's coming. And somehow they stole some identities and they were ordering these credit cards. And they would track the delivery on the USPS whatever system on their phone, and then show up at people's homes and intercept. They used their names intercept the cards before the person even got them. And you know, it was a credit card scam, but they basically made the arrest. So a lot of scams. Craig 3:56 Yeah, there are and in fact, there's an article up this week saying that falling victim to one of these scams, not this type in Kittery, but where you get an email scam is actually an early sign of dementia. It was very interesting article. So here's what I do to deal with that. And I think it's pretty simple. When you have a bank credit card or checks, because I still use checks okay, I do not have them delivered to the house. I have them delivered to the local bank branch. Jack 4:28 That's smart. That's smart. Craig 4:29 And then they call me and say, Yeah, because people have been doing this for years stealing from from mailboxes as well. So good. Good advice. Good warning. Hey, two quick things here. One is, you know, we talked about the F150 and how efficient that Ford truck is when it comes to CO2 emissions. And the government how to this like the new Tesla Model 3 is a zero emissions vehicle, we are paying our tax dollars for every person that buys one of the these cars and many others, although they've hit their limit of 200,000. We'll see what happens with Congress. But a new study out again here from Germany, this time, saying that these so-called zero emissions vehicles produce about 20% more carbon dioxide, than diesel Mercedes in this case. And we remember last time we were talking about the F150. And the Wall Street Journal's warning as well saying that because of this study, again, we want to point out here's a quote, recall the false promises about corn and cellulosic ethanol, you know, the stuff made from from corn, false promises, it didn't help. It made a lot of things worth it worse. It destroys small engines. And I think this is another example of why we want the free market to decide what the winner is. When it comes to our environment. The US has even been ahead of every country in the world. Even after we pulled out of a Paris Climate accord. We are beating everyone else when it comes to the lowered CO2 emissions and also our atmosphere. You know. Jack 6:12 There's a story that's not always framed that way. We're always the problem. Craig 6:16 Exactly. And it turns out, we're not. Very interesting study. I have it up on my website. And then I don't know if you saw this. Senator, Hassan's former aide here. And what had happened, this guy's name was is Jackson Cosko. He entered into a plea deal about a week ago. And the statement of facts in that deal says that from July to October 2018. Just last fall, he engaged in extraordinary extensive data theft from Senator Hassan's office. Jack 6:47 Or Hassan. Craig 6:48 Hassan. I'm sorry. Hassan. The theft occurred by the way after he was fired by the senator in May, and then was hired by democratic Texas Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, that gave him access to the house computer network. And another aide apparently of our senator was going in, give him a key so he could go in at night, he was putting keyloggers and everything else in which it's just amazing reminds you of what happened with a Wasserman Schultz here last year, who was the head of the DNC and also of course, a congressperson. And there was a plea deal with him as well. And this was the Imran Awan scandal that occurred, and he was doing it for a government of US Congress people on the democrat side. It's just we've got to be more careful, Jack. You know, he was putting keyloggers on, which means you have a just a quick look at your computer. If you have a wired keyboard, check at the back make sure there isn't an extra little fob on the back of your computer that recording every keystroke, because that's how you get in. That's how many bad guys get in and sometimes even install it in in software, but he did plead guilty and unlike Awan, it looks like he's going to serve some time here. We'll see what happens. Jack 8:12 Alright Craig. Thank you very much for your Tech Talk update. Thank you. The sweeping portrait of a cover-up, manipulation, and the subversion of justice in the US Congress. The story focuses on Imran Awan, a Pakistani-American information technology worker. From 2004 to 2017, he worked as a shared employee for Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives. In July 2017, he was arrested on bank fraud charges as part of a federal investigation. This story illustrates one of the biggest cover-ups in Congress in many years. It’s the story of a young man, who through his relationships with members of the House, takes advantage of his access to Congressional servers. Some have accused Awan of causing a hack from within the house. Others say, nothing happened. Which side will you believe? Luke Rosiak, Patrick Sowers and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R) - Texas join Newt to provide three different perspectives on the story.

Do you tag people in pictures on Facebook? Listen in as Craig talks with Jim Polito about Privacy, Facebook and Facial Recognition. Did you hear about Imran Awan and the DNC Hack? Craig discusses with Jim some of the ties that these IT workers had with the Russian Hack. Find out more on CraigPeterson.com --- Related Articles: Facebook Is Still Abusing Your Privacy --- Transcript: Below is a rush transcript of this segment, it might contain errors. Airing date: 07/17/2018 Facebook Abusing Your Privacy Again, Facial Recognition, Russian Hacking Craig Peterson: [00:00:00] Hi everybody. Today, we talked about Apple just a little bit but mostly about Facebook. We talked about Imran Awan, you remember the I.T. staffer there was working for the Democrats and with a tie in to the Russians. Wow, it gets kind of crazy but it's all about privacy today with Jim Polito, so here we go. [00:00:26] If he was running Amazon they wouldn't have crashed yesterday. [00:00:30] I'm talking about our tech guru and good friend Craig Peterson, Good morning, sir. [00:00:36] Hey good morning. I noticed that too. I was on, and yeah I was getting all kinds of errors trying to do the one day deal that they had. I don't know if I can extend it or not. But, yeah they had problems. [00:00:49] Well they didn't have Craig Peterson on their side. No they don't. [00:00:54] I built some of the biggest Web sites in the world with the biggest databases. Long before Jeff Bezos got involved with the whole Amazon thing, and yeah there's something I've done for decades, now. It's scary to think back. I said the other day to someone yeah you know I've been doing professionally computer networking since 1975 and all of a sudden I did the math and felt old. That would be worse. [00:01:25] Is that a young person said and not that you're not young. In relative terms said they had computers in 75 [00:01:35] Weird, eh? [00:01:38] Tell me about Facebook still abusing my privacy. Are you telling me that Mark Zuckerberg wasn't completely honest with me. [00:01:50] Did you notice the Zuck said in an answer to a lot of the questions said Hey, I'll get back to you on that, and fact he did. Oh he did. He did. He sent them a document that was hundreds of pages long as I recall, and it got no press because of course by then the news cycle was over and people move on. [00:02:16] Yeah they move on then and they he said Yeah well we kind of do keep everything and everyone possibly that we possibly can, and that reminds me of Debbie Wasserman Schultz who is I.T. guy to you has just made it into the news have you guys talked about this one. [00:02:35] I've talked about him but in family and everyone else but he seems like the mainstream media doesn't want to talk about him. [00:02:46] He just came out I guess this week that you know they were supposed to turn over a server for the FBI to finally examine as near as I can tell. They're saying the Russians hacked right the Russians hacked the DNC. If you look at the charges that are just brought against the Russians there's no mention of the fact that the Russians were trying to hijack the Republicans as well. Did you know that. Yes. It was completely left out of the indictment. Well it turns out now apparently this server that they were supposed to turn over, they were starting to look at it and then they checked the serial number. The server that was turned over for investigation was not the server because they gave them something else. [00:03:32] Isn't that interesting. And didn't we learn that somebody. Took a whole bunch of information, off of that DNC server in question. And that the forensic folks figured out that the speed with which all of the data was downloaded indicated that it would have been impossible to do it remotely that somebody who had access to the DNC server put in a Zip drive and downloaded stuff. Now that says to me you well wait a minute. I don't think that was a Russian. [00:04:19] Oh he goes it goes on and on. Anyway, that story is going to continue to give us all kinds of entertainment because this whole thing is just completely nuts. What happened what they let happen to do is back to Zuck. Yeah. So he did three months ago sit in front of Congress. He came up and said yeah we're going to have we're going to make it so everything's transparent. And you know maybe when you were thinking about transparent maybe he was thinking of it like looking through a window or maybe a camera lens. Because as it turned out the Zuck is using specialized facial recognition technology. [00:05:01] That people just aren't aware of when you are on Facebook. Now. You know if you post a picture you can Tag someone in a way that you tagged me before I've tag you in pictures, of course. [00:05:14] So, it was that's kind of cool and it brings pictures and things to peoples attention and you can find the people were when you were tagging people in those pictures did you realize that Facebook was using that to say oh let me see complete within this picture. [00:05:32] And simply those in that picture simply those in the other picture. Let's see which one do we think is Jim Polito via a process of elimination Facebook has apparently been very busy building facial recognition software to the point right now where if you post something and you go to tag someone some people have noticed that over on the site. Now Facebook or just people to say oh yeah well it tells you who it is. [00:06:06] It says even when they don't know I put up a picture and it says Do you want a tag Cathy Polito in this picture and I haven't tagged my wife in the picture. [00:06:18] Well he is same as last time. Well. The poor thing for probably the best reason. [00:06:24] But it says Do you want to put up other people. And it says Do you want to tag them. And I'm thinking I didn't tell you who that is. Well Facebook Knows. [00:06:36] Well the New York Times reported last week that more than a dozen different privacy and consumer groups and some government officials are arguing that the company's use of the facial recognition is once again now violating people's privacy because they did not remain appropriate user consent. So, it's scanning photos anything uploaded to their social network. Now what would think about this for a minute. It's kind of cool that you want to take Cathy this picture it makes life a little easier. But you take this to the next level. And now Facebook has the ability to identify you. [00:07:16] Now, I don't know why this is but man, Minority Report we keep calling a great movie and enemy of the state. [00:07:24] Despite Tom Cruise it was a great movie. It really was. [00:07:28] And you remember when he had somebody else's eyeballs and he walked by like by a sign and the sign now changed and offered him a special deal on what he had bought at the store before, right. Right. Guess what Facebook could do with this data [00:07:45] Yeah they just walk into the place and it says that's Jim Polito. You know what Jim Polito likes such and such bourbon why don't we tell him it's on special. [00:07:58] Yeah, Well and he likes that friends of burbon. So let's go ahead and let's get the competitor bourbon to advertise and pay us to promote to Jim Polito. [00:08:08] Yeah exactly. Exactly. You can live with some of that. Right. [00:08:16] But, it might be good right because it knows you're trying to buy a car when you want to see the car. [00:08:22] You can put some of that but there's a part of me that always makes the extra little leap and I always say to myself hey I'm never doing anything wrong. I'm never sure I shouldn't be I'm never doing things I shouldn't be doing I really I lead a nearly monastic life. So, I'm not worried about it. But, I always think to myself. But, do I really want people to know that much about where I am now worried about I'm worried about when a hacker gets that information or somebody else. Exactly right, because I think what can happen here. [00:08:59] If Facebook sells this data or the nation's stolen or even as simple as doing Facebook's search for Jim Polito pictures and now we've got Apple next year all of their phones are going to have the facial recognition software right now. You can get it you can go to a local U.P.S. store and use their 3-D printer. So now I can make a 3D version of Jim's head. I know to unlock any door. OK. [00:09:27] You're going to need the extra large printer to do that one the one with the double double triple chin option that one Yeah exactly. Its scary the state is being collected in a lot of people don't know about it. [00:09:43] Pay attention. Craig. This is great stuff and I could go on and on. Craig Peterson is a great guy who will provide this information to you. Plus other great information about the iPhone about Wal-Mart eavesdropping on workers. All of that you can get that information for free. He will not pester you. He will not try to sell you things. Here is what you do. You text my name to. 8 5 5 3 8 5 55 53 that's 8 5 5 3 8 5 5 5 5 3 standard data and tax rates apply and you'll get other information say there's some big hack some national or international hack. Craig Petersen will send you the information that you need. He will not sell your name he won't do anything like that and he won't pester you. And he's always here every Tuesday after the 8 30 news. Craig thanks so much, buddy. That was very informative always a pleasure. Thanks Jim. Take care. You too. Craig Peterson, everybody. Yeah I don't mind being recognized here and there. I just don't want it. [00:10:58] You know what I really don't care if Facebook has it at a certain point I just don't want a hacker to get it and then do something else with it. Darrell Castle reports on an espionage scandal involving information technology professionals working for several Democrat members of the U.S. Congress. Transcript / Notes THE IT SCANDAL IN THE DEMOCRAT PARTY Hello this is Darrell Castle with today's Castle Report. Today is Friday August 11, 2017, and on today's report I will be talking about another scandal in Congress – this one apparently limited solely to Democrat members of Congress and their employees. I will admit that I struggled with what to call this report. Should I call it the Awan scandal, the Democrat espionage scandal, the Debbie Wasserman Schultz scandal, but I wanted to be fair and not say anything untrue or at least explain that these things are still, hopefully, under investigation and therefore as yet unproven. Some of the things in this report are so obvious that most people will have no trouble seeing that there is something very wrong in Congress, particularly on the Democrat side since this scandal is apparently limited exclusively to them. Another interesting thing about this scandal is that it is being reported almost exclusively by conservative web sites and news services. Let's take short look at what this scandal really is, and what brought it to this stage. Starting with one person in about 2003 (but the whole family in 2009), several Democrat members of Congress, at least 49 but up to 80 of them, hired five members of a Pakistani family to do their IT or Information Technology work. The leader of the decision to hire them was a member of Congress from Florida, and Chair of the Democratic National Committee, Debbie Wasserman Schultz. These five Pakistanis were paid at least 4 million dollars, and possibly a lot more, for their services over that period. The investigation into their activities started, it seems, about four months ago. The conservative website The Daily Caller has been out front with reporting on this so I will quote the site for a summary, “Five members of a Pakistani family under criminal investigation for allegedly misusing their positions as computer administrators for dozens of Democrats in the House of Representatives were paid at least $4 million from July 2009 to the present…some of the dozens of House democrats—many of whom serve on the intelligence, homeland security and foreign affairs committees—who employed the suspects were inexplicitly paying people they rarely or never saw. The suspects had full access to the emails and office computer files of the members for whom they worked.” The names are Imran Awan, the leader, his brothers Amid, and Jawal, Imran's wife Hina Alvi, Amid's wife Nataliva Sova, who is probably Russian, plus Imran's friend Rao Abbas who is 20 years old and his last job before Congress was at McDonald's, a job from which he was fired. Rao Abbas was paid $165,000 per year. All these people were paid enormous salaries especially considering what members of Congress actually make and what congressional staffers normally make. On Fox News, Judge Andrew Napolitano referred to the group as “the Awan Spy Ring.” He said they had access to the emails and computer files of every single member of Congress – Democrat and Republican – and was selling what they found. He did not say who they were selling to but they have been connected to Pakistani Intelligence (the ISI), Hezbollah, the Muslim Brotherhood, and other terrorist or terrorist-supporting organizations. One of the allegations is that these people, who were not particularly highly skilled, were paid millions because of the information they found on congressional computers i.e. bribes. If that is so, it would explain a lot of what appears to be the insanity of Congress but is in reality acquiesces to bribery. This scheme or hiring plan, if you will, was apparently concocted by Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the congresswoman from Florida. From 2011 until 2016, she was the chair of the Democrat National Committee.

The Heritage Foundation found that many of the new 'insured' are simply covered by Medicaid expansion. But how is this good? Many doctors won't take many more Medicaid patients. Some take none at all. Does Trump's style bother you? Or do you chalk it up to an incessant media on attack? Or a combination of both? Democrat IT staffer Imran Awan transferring money to Pakistan.
