On this episode of The Free Thought Project podcast, Matt, Jason, and Don sit down with legendary civil liberties attorney and constitutional scholar John W. Whitehead, founder and president of The Rutherford Institute. John has been on the front lines of the battle for freedom for over four decades—fighting government overreach in courtrooms, writing more than a dozen books (including Battlefield America), and warning us about the coming surveillance state long before it was mainstream. We kick off the show unpacking Trump's unhinged push for war with Iran and the ruling class interests pulling the strings behind him. As John reminds us, every U.S. war begins with lies—and none of them make us safer. From there, we pivot into the creeping technocracy swallowing our rights, with Trump now embracing Palantir to track, score, and ultimately target dissenters—especially those who dare to oppose war. John helps us break it all down, showing how the surveillance state isn't about security—it's about control. And as always, we wrap with some much-needed white pills. John offers a grounded and inspirational vision for resistance, from local action to legal defense, reminding us that the fight is not over—and that freedom is still worth fighting for. No matter where you are in the world, communication is at the heart of everything - how we lead, how we connect, and how we get things done. Yet even with the best intentions, misunderstandings still happen. Whether it's a clash of communication styles, unspoken expectations, or deeply rooted behavioral habits, gaps can form in the most unexpected places which often leads to people talking at each other instead of with each other. John Whitehead, Executive/Leadership Coach at JKWhitehead & Associates, spent over a decade helping senior and emerging leaders navigate the human side of communication. John's work is deeply rooted in helping people untangle their thoughts, voice their ideas and discover powerful truths that drive personal and professional growth. On this episode of The Workplace Communication Podcast, we're talking with John Whitehead about how the gaps we experience between departments, cultures, personalities, or expectations, can quietly undermine leadership and collaboration, and how we can identify and overcome them. Leadership tips you won't want to miss:

In today's episode of the Center for Baptist Leadership podcast, William Wolfe sits down with John Whitehead, an Attorney and ERLC Trustee to discuss the ongoing issues at the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). Whitehead criticizes the lack of change since Russell Moore's departure, highlighting the commission's poor management, understaffing, and controversial actions, such as signing a letter opposing an abortion abolition bill and advocating for increased military aid to Ukraine. Whitehead also raises concerns about the ERLC's ties to the Evangelical Immigration Table, which is influenced by George Soros funding, as well as the lack of transparency and accountability within the organization. If idolatry can be defined as anything we choose to place above reality itself, then politics would be a serious contender for one of our favorite idols. Chuck Baldwin says America has only two religions, Democrat and Republican. John Whitehead of the Rutherford Institute points out that it's getting harder to ignore the sense that politics has become our de facto national religion. John Whitehead, President of The Rutherford Institute & author of Battlefield America: The War on...
A second Covid inquiry has been announced. And while that may sound like two Covid inquiries too many, this one may well get the answer a lot of us are looking for. New Zealand First has invoked the Agree to Disagree clause that allows a party within a coalition government to disagree in relation to issues on which the parties wish to maintain a different position in public. Generally, in a coalition agreement you like to present a united front, but when there are real disagreements, the clause can be invoked and that is what Peters has done. He wanted the first inquiry scrapped, saying it was nothing more than a political tool being used to craft a message through its limited scope and the lack of suitability of the Commissioners. The chair is epidemiologist Professor Tony Blakely, who advised during the pandemic, the economist John Whitehead, and former National MP Hekia Parata. He's not wrong, though. Unlike most other recent Royal Commissions, New Zealand's focus is explicitly on planning for the next pandemic, rather than assigning blame for any failings from the decision makers. It's like oh well, that happened, let's look ahead and see what we can do next time around. Its full name is “New Zealand Royal Commission Covid -19 Lessons Learned”, and the parliamentary order bringing it into being describes its intentions as examining the lessons learned from Aotearoa New Zealand's response to Covid-19 that should be applied in preparation for any future pandemic. So there would be no blame, no finger pointing, no public floggings in the public square. Really, it would be more like a series of patsy questions in Parliament. Did you do well? [Previous Labour government]. Thank you. Just how well did you think you did? [Previous Labour government]. What learnings do you think you can take forward? How many lives were saved? [Labour government]. You know, that sort of thing. Now Brooke van Velden, Internal Affairs Minister, says that when this inquiry finishes its work a second one will get under way and this one will ask the hard questions. “Where I think people are looking for more focus and what Phase Two will focus on, are things like the government's response and how that was weighed up against education, health, business, inflation. What its response did to debt and business activity? The social division that was caused in our society, and importantly also touches on New Zealand First's commitment where they wish to look into vaccine efficacy. So it's a bit broader in range and I think answers a lot of those questions that will be on the top of people's minds. Was the government too fixated on just one aspect of its response?” And I think that's a reasonable question. That was Brooke van Velden talking to Mike Hosking this morning. I think those are really relevant questions. The vaccine efficacy and safety, the extended lockdowns in Auckland, in Northland. Now that we have the luxury of hindsight, you have to look and say, okay was that worth it? Was having borders at the Bombay Hills worth it? I'd be really interested to know whether there's any explanation for ‘the computer says no' letters that so many families were given when they couldn't be with loved ones who were very, very ill or dying. Despite the fact that they were vaccinated, the family they were going to were vaccinated, there was just a simple computer say no denial from MBIE, a nameless official at MBIE, saying they could not be with a dying family member, or somebody who was very, very ill. And the pain that that caused was immeasurable. The grief that that generated was immeasurable. So I'd really love to know how you made the decision and who these faceless, nameless people were at MBIE who just deny, deny, denied access across the border, which all sounds incredibly weird. You know, I think you have to ask those questions before you can move forward. I don't know that it's going to resolve anything. I mean basically I'd be quite happy with stocks in the public square, quite frankly. But then there are others who will be not satisfied until anybody who dared to so much as criticise any of the decisions made, abases themselves before the likes of Ardern, and Hipkins, and Robertson, and all the public health officials and kisses the hem of their garment and repeats three times, I am so sorry. I am so grateful to be alive and it's only thanks to you. I am so sorry. I'm so grateful to be alive. And it's only thanks to you, which I think is tosh. I do think the hard questions have to be asked this first patsy inquiry was precisely that. How well did you do Labour government? Ooh very well. Really. Just how well? Exceptionally well. Any learnings? Oh, a few. You have to be able to weigh the costs. You have to be able to weigh the different decisions that were made that had so many impacts on so many different people's lives. Some breezed through, loved it, thought it was amazing, thought every decision made was the right one, but not everybody did. And I think we're going to see the damage for a very long time to come. As I've always said, it'll be 100 years from now, there'll still be people debating whether that second year of decision making they were making the right decisions. But it would be good to start now, to ask a few tough questions now, rather than just sugar coating the response, which is all we'd have got from the first inquiry. The Life of the Rev. John Wesley, M.A. [Londres: Stephen Couchman, 1793], p. 331).
It's Friday, December 15th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) U.S. Muslim family arrested, accused of beating son who converted to Christianity A Muslim family was arrested in Nashville, Tennessee, after a juvenile victim told authorities his mother, father, and brother attacked him for converting to the Christian faith, reports FaithWire.com. According to an arrest warrant, the boy was purportedly punched in the face and spit at by his mother, father, and brother; the mother is also accused of scratching the back of one of the victim's hands with a knife, reports WZTV. During the attack, the young man was allegedly urged to renounce his Christian beliefs and proclaim Islam. Authorities became aware of the situation after his employer reportedly expressed concern. When police arrived for a welfare check on December 11th, they found the boy with injuries, including lumps on his face and scratches. The young man was transported to the hospital. Meanwhile, the 57-year-old father, Nick Kadum, the 46-year-old mother, Rawaa, and their 29-year-old son, John, were charged over the incident. In John 15:18-19, Jesus said, “If the world hates you, remember that it hated Me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.” Hamas' plot against Europe foiled Yesterday, German police arrested three suspected members of Hamas in Berlin accused of preparing an attack against Jewish targets in Europe, reports The Daily Mail. German prosecutors said the three men, along with another suspect arrested in the Netherlands, were said to have begun preparing a weapons cache in the German capital where arms would be “kept in a state of readiness in view of potential terrorist attacks against Jewish institutions in Europe.” News of these arrests came after Danish authorities said they too had prevented a terror attack, arresting three more suspects. Biden forgives another $4.8 billion in student debt On December 6th, the Biden administration announced that it would forgive an additional $4.8 billion in student loan debt for 80,300 borrowers, bringing the total taxpayer burden to $132 billion, reports The Epoch Times. President Biden said, "I won't back down from using every tool at our disposal to get student loan borrowers the relief they need to reach their dreams.” His administration is undeterred by the recent Supreme Court decision to block a wide-ranging initiative to cancel up to $20,000 in debt per student. Powerful pre-Christmas storm to pound 20 states Christmas travel is getting underway this weekend, but the FOX Forecast Center is tracking a powerful pre-holiday storm that will impact millions in at least 20 states as it slides up the East Coast this weekend and into early next week, slamming the region with heavy rain and strong wind. So, if you're among the more than 115 million Americans expected to travel 50 miles or more this Christmas season, you'll want to prepare for delays on the roads and at some of our nation's busiest airports if your travels take you to the East. Surprising number of men & women open to multiple partners or spouses So much for monogamy. A new study by researchers from Swansea University in the United Kingdom reveals that a third of men and one in 10 women are open to having more than one romantic partner — at the same time, reports StudyFinds.org. The study, which involved 393 heterosexual men and women, uncovered varying levels of “openness” to these arrangements. Approximately 33 percent of men surveyed in the U.K. expressed a willingness to consider the idea of having more than one wife or long-term girlfriend in a committed partnership if it were legal and consensual. By contrast, only 11 percent of women indicated a similar openness to the concept of polygamous faux marriage. Hebrews 13:4 says, “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.” Census now demanding "sex at birth" and "current gender" The U.S. Census Bureau is adding demands for every person in households to reveal their "sex at birth" and their "current gender," as if that could be changed, reports WorldNetDaily.com. The additions have prompted a warning about the ongoing loss of privacy Americans are sustaining. John Whitehead, a constitutional attorney and chief of The Rutherford Institute, warned, "The potential for abuse is grave." The newest problem concerns the "mandatory" American Community Survey, which is sent to households monthly. This is in addition to the census done every 10 years to estimate the population of the nation, its states and cities. The Rutherford Institute has posted online a form letter of complaint through which citizens can complain to census officials about the questions. Christian group uplifting families devastated by Hamas And finally, a Christian organization is working to help an Israeli agricultural community described in the Bible as a resting place for King David's warriors that was left devastated in the aftermath of Hamas' terrorist attacks, reports The Christian Post. CityServe is a non-profit that mobilizes local churches and partnering organizations to bring relief to communities left devastated by war or natural disasters. CityServe's Vice President of Government Relations, Todd Lamphere, explained that standing with Israel is one of the organization's 10 initiatives for creating community transformation. CityServe is investing in Ein HaBesor, an Israeli agricultural community -- near the Gaza border that accounts for over 60% of Israel's produce. Hamas terrorists attacked the community during its October 7 strike in southern Israel, killing at least 1,200 people, including 31 Americans. The head of a Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Covid-19 pandemic response says the review needs to put New Zealand in better position to respond next time a pandemic hits. Professor Tony Blakely, an epidemiologist working at the University of Melbourne, will lead the Royal Commission, which starts in February. He is joined by former National Party MP Hekia Parata, and the previous secretary to Treasury, John Whitehead, as commissioners. Professor Blakely says the breadth of experience and skills of the commissioners is welcome, and will help them to cover the wide scope of the Inquiry, ranging from the health response and legislative decisions, to the economic response. He spoke to Māni Dunlop.
A business leader doubts the Royal Commission of Inquiry into our Covid response has the right scope. It kicks off February and will look at vaccine mandates, border closures, quarantine and community care. A report is due mid-2024. Australian-based epidemiologist Tony Blakely will chair it, alongside former National party minister Hekia Parata and former Treasury secretary John Whitehead. Business NZ Chief Executive Kirk Hope told Mike Hosking no one from business was talked to about the scope. He says the exclusion of operations into the private sector from the scope of inquiry is disappointing. LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The man tasked with heading the Royal Commission of Inquiry into our Covid response says they'll be doing their best to deliver an independent report. It kicks off February and will look at vaccine mandates, border closures, quarantine and community care - among other matters. A report is due mid-2024. Australian-based epidemiologist Tony Blakely will chair it, alongside former National party minister Hekia Parata and former Treasury secretary John Whitehead. John Whitehead discusses the Deep State (the 7th Floor Group) and how the future of America and the world will become everything the great science fiction writers have prophesied. The collapse of the United States is akin to the collapse of the Roman Empire where we could very well see people being taken away and put to death. The coming of Singularity in 2029 and takeover of AI is very likely. We are very similar to Nazi Germany, the police state is expanding, and people need to get up and get active in their governments. We only have a small window of time left. He's won numerous accolades and accomplishments, and in 1982 he founded the Rutherford Institute, which has become one of the leading advocates of civil liberties. He's author of the award-winning A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State, and the best selling Battlefield America: The War On The American People. Also, The End of Man, published in 1986, but sounds like it was written yesterday. Mr. Whitehead, welcome to Geopolitics & Empire, which the Ron Paul Institute describes as "the real underground, where the real intellectual revolution is taking place." John Whitehead: Anyway, thank you sir for having me on. I appreciate it. Geopolitics & Empire: I do urge people to support the Rutherford Institute. I've got my Rutherford coffee mug, which I don't think you sell this one anymore, and I've got the pamphlets as well that you sell. I love the work you're doing, but let's get right into it. You recently wrote that, "Things are falling apart. How much longer we can sustain the fiction that we live in, the constitutional republic, I cannot say, but anarchy is being loosed upon the nation. We're witnessing the unraveling of the American dream one injustice at a time," end quote. Myself as a former history teacher, professor, I saw all of this coming. In the 2000s, a nation and republic in a downward spiral. Economic decline, spiritual decline, cultural degeneration, devolution into authoritarianism and tyranny. And it seems we've arrived. What's sort of the big picture here and where are we on the timeline? John Whitehead: Well, the government that we have in this country, and I've warned people for years about, is not what you think it is. It's a different type of government. There was an expansive study that came out of Princeton University in 2014, which studied 20 years of laws and policies passed in Washington, DC. The professors came to the conclusion that we live in what they call an auto [inaudible 00:01:55] elite in Washington, DC where all the money congregates. Washington, DC's basically run by, at the time they estimated 585 billionaires. It later became known as the Deep State. The Deep State is a group called the 7th Floor Gr...

We must not wait until it's too late. The surveillance state that has been built upon artificial intelligence technology will literally take away our privacy and even humanity if left unchecked. That is the warning from today's guest, John Whitehead of the Rutherford Institute. Whitehead warns that our culture has never been more mentally and culturally groomed into this AI world, and we are most susceptible to allowing it to consume our privacy. He explains that the scope of the surveillance state in the U.S. is now second to China and is getting worse by the day. Unless we push for state and local electronic privacy bills of rights, we will eventually cease to function as human beings. I also tie in Whitehead's message with why I oppose any involvement over Taiwan, because we must first rid ourselves of China's control of our own government before we can save others.
