With the tour set to kick off on June 23, we get an exclusive preview of what fans can expect, including exciting secret collaborations that are sure to leave audiences buzzing. However, it hasn't been a smooth journey for James Reyne, as he shares the story behind the rescheduling of the first leg of the tour. A mishap in Surry Hills left him with a broken ankle and a cracked rib, prompting him to reflect humorously, "Did I fall over, or did I have a fall? I'm at that age now where it's like, 'Aw, James had a fall.'" In addition to discussing the upcoming tour, the conversation delves into Ella Hooper's recent record, 'Small Town Temple,' and sheds light on how this exciting collaboration between James Reyne and Ella Hooper came to fruition. Listeners are treated to a special rendition of the iconic 1992 hit, 'Way Out West,' originally performed by James Reyne and James Blundell, highlighting the enduring appeal of this timeless track. Furthermore, James Reyne expresses his admiration for the late Broderick Smith of The Dingoes, the original songwriter of 'Way Out West,' and highlights the significant influence he has had on numerous artists, despite often going unrecognized. Gleeso takes a moment to acknowledge James Reyne's immense contribution to Australian music, applauding his role in bringing local talent to the forefront, even amidst the domination of international artists in the market. We also explore the enduring popularity of Australian Crawl's iconic anthem, 'Reckless,' with Gleeso noting that every time he witnesses James Reyne perform it live, the crowd's fervent sing-along is twice as loud, a testament to the lasting impact of the song across the country.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

What's the difference between Country music in the USA, and the rest of the World? We get the opportunity to dig into to that idea with Australian songwriter and recording artist Lily Grace, who shares with us what its like to be on the other side of the ocean, and what it takes to break into the home of Country music, Nashville, Tennessee. Naturally gifted, Lily Grace began singing at 10 years of age. She dived deeper into music a mere four years ago, when she was gifted her first guitar at the age of 11. Her determination to self-fund her own equipment saw her busking at local markets, and soon after, attracting her to local cafes, restaurants, events and festivals. With several years' stage experience already behind her, Lily Grace delivers her own storytelling originals alongside a vast collection of popular, crowd-pleasing favorites from contemporary, classics, and country. The emotions of love, determination, kindness, gratitude and pure joy pour forth in every one of her performances. Lily Grace is a sought-after talent, having recently opened for Amber Lawrence and Catherine Britt's ‘Love and Lies Tour' across Queensland, joining Tania Kernaghan in concert, touring with James Blundell, being announced in the line-up of emerging artists for the Gympie Muster and performing at the Groundwater Country Music Festival this year.  An exciting collaboration has been in the making for Lily Grace this year, with the legendary country music artist, James Blundell. The two penned a song together earlier this year, co-headlined a concert on the Gold Coast and recently completed the ‘Annie June' tour, where they took their co-written song to stages across Queensland, following on from its successful release in May. The excitement around the track helped it reach the Top 10 on the ‘Australian Country Radio' chart, #17 on the ‘Hottest Australian Country Hits' chart, #9 on ‘Country Radio Charts', #31 on the ‘Countrytown Hot 50 Music Chart'. A live video stream on country radio program, KIX Live, and with the official music video being played in high rotation on Foxtel's & Fetch CMT TV channel reaching #3 in ‘Today's Top 15', also featuring in ‘Official Top 30', ‘Fresh Country', and ‘Aussie Country'  programs.  Off the back of a successful debut duo release, Lily released her debut solo single in August. ‘Sixteen Wishes' is an uplifting and summery track, which rocketed to #3 on the Australian Country iTunes Chart and #27 on the Australian All Genres iTunes Chart.  Within a week of it's release, it was the #1 streamed and downloaded song for Australian radio airplay. ‘Sixteen Wishes' continues to climb the Official Top 30 on CMT television, currently placed at #21. The future certainly looks bright for this young artist shortly venturing to the Tamworth Country Music Festival with a plethora of gigs lined-up and semi-finalist nominations in 9 categories of the Tamworth Songwriting Association awards.  The Business Side of Music ™ © 2022 Lotta Dogs Productions LLC Showrunner and Executive Producer Emeritus: Tom Sabella Producer and Host (the guy who has a face for podcasting): Bob Bender Co-Producer - Audio/Video Editor (the man behind the curtain): Mark Sabella Director of Video and Continuity (the brains of the entire operation): Deborah Halle Marketing and Social Media (all knowing): Sarah Fleshner for 362 Entertainment All Around Problem Solver (and Mental Health Therapist for us): Connie Ribas Recorded inside an old beat up Airstream Trailer located somewhere on what's left of Music Row in Nashville TN (except during pandemics, then it's pretty much been accomplished VIA Zoom or over the phone, with the exception for those fearless enough to come to Bob Bender's dining room… and there have been a few that have survived). I recently caught up with Mark after one of his gigs, we chatted about his first Engine Room interview (please listen to E7 first) and he stated that there was a lot that he did not touch on in that interview. I was delighted when Mark suggested that we arrange a time to record part 2. In this interview Mark reflects on the incredibly talent people that he has had the opportunity to get to know and work with throughout his career as a session musician in more detail. Mark chats about joining Stylus and the band being signed to Motown, working with Daddy Cool's guitarist Ross Hannaford, performing in Melbourne with Ross’s band Lucky Dog, and how that led to his fondest recording memory with Mark Gillespie on his “Only Human” and “Sweet Nothing” albums. He retouched on his time touring with Marcia Hines and recording and touring with Richard Clapton and Moving Pictures, and how one of his Sydney band Chasin’ The Train gigs ended up leading to Mark touring with the Divinyls in 1992. Other artists that Mark has recorded and or toured with mentioned in this interview are Jenny Morris, Wendy Mathews, Jon English, Lee Kernaghan, Elvis The Musical, The New Rocky Horror Show with Craig McLaughlin. Mark also talks about his interesting experience during the 9 weeks that he toured Australia with the Divinyls in 1992 and why he decided not to continue with that tour when they went to the USA. When Mark finished touring with the Divinyls he received a call from Garth Porter who asked him if he would be interested in recording on the young country artist Lee Kernaghan's debut album. Mark agreed to do the album “The Outback Club” and was given ½ a percent as part of the payment. Born and raised in Sydney, Ben Ransom, started playing guitar and writing song at the age of fifteen.   In 2010, Ben completed his first album, “The Long Way”. Ben says the album was a labor of love that gave him a vehicle for expression and allowed him to explore all facets of his personality and display his passion for music. The first single, “Bourbon & Sunsets”, was a runaway hit – peaking at #2 on the Hot Country Top 50 chart and as a solid performer on the CMC Top 50.  In 2012 he was a finalist in the coveted Toyota Star Maker competition – the same competition that launched the careers of Keith Urban, Lee Kernaghan, James Blundell and Samantha McClymont.  Ben completed the album, “Slow Burn”, in 2012 with Matt Fell and Glen Hannah. The first single, “Truck Stop Honey”, received national airplay and earned him a nomination for Contemporary Song of The Year at the TSA Awards. The album was released in 2013 to rave reviews.Earlier in the year he performed daily in the main arena at the 2017 Sydney Royal Easter Show and had the pleasure of supporting iconic artists including Jon Stevens, 1927 and James Blundell.  “You’re The Reason Why” followed the same path of “Let’s Go Driving” and quickly rose up the Australian Country Charts where it’s currently positioned in the Top 10.  January 12, 2018 sees the release of the album – “101” - along with the simultaneously released single, “Same Song, Different Day”. The song has massive mainstream potential - leaning more into a classic rock sound, blended with tones reminiscent of Tom Petty.  Ben has just released a new song called Night After Night. And there's a new album on the way.https://www.ransommusic.com/

This is a quick historical perspective of an ingenious approach to a deadly obstetrical problem in history. Dr. William Halstead, the father of modern surgery, is credited with performing the first blood transfusion following postpartum hemorrhage in the United States. However, it was British obstetrician James Blundell that first described blood transfusion to prevent death from postpartum bleeding. Let’s take a look at this amazing historical story.
