Nico "I'm A Leavin' Here" Iamaleava is pushing college football market boundaries--will it pay off? Trump's reported height and weight are a bit, um, inaccurate.

Playlist;(sintonía) NICK CURRAN and THE NITELIFES “Stompin’ at the fort” (Doctor Velvet)NICK CURRAN and THE NITELIFES “Doctor Velvet” (Doctor Velvet)NICK CURRAN and THE NITELIFES “Drivin’ me crazy” (Doctor Velvet)NICK CURRAN and THE NITELIFES “Lonesome whistle blues” (Doctor Velvet)NICK CURRAN and THE NITELIFES “Shot down” (Doctor Velvet)NICK CURRAN and THE NITELIFES “Don’t be angry” (Doctor Velvet)NICK CURRAN and THE NITELIFES “Cold cold heart” (Doctor Velvet)Versión y Original; HANK WILLIAMS “Cold cold heart” (1951)NICK CURRAN and THE NITELIFES “Beautiful girl” (Doctor Velvet)NICK CURRAN and THE NITELIFES “The Groovy Jam” (Player)NICK CURRAN and THE NITELIFES “Player” (Player)NICK CURRAN and THE NITELIFES “Heeby Jeebies” (Player)NICK CURRAN and THE NITELIFES “What about love” (Player)NICK CURRAN and THE NITELIFES “No fun” (Player)NICK CURRAN and THE NITELIFES “Leavin’” (Player)NICK CURRAN and THE NITELIFES “Come back” (Player)Escuchar audio

Few musicians today stay as busy as Aaron Bibelhauser. Not only is he a prolific songwriter and one half of the twin brother-led bluegrass band called The Bibelhauser Brothers, but he hosts a notable bluegrass music radio show, collaborates with several other artists on albums and singles and leads a community jam session periodically in his home city of Louisville. The only mystery about Aaron is when does he sleep? Aaron and his twin Adam, who splits vocals with his brother, plays bass, contributes to the writing and production of songs, and naturally offers beautiful blood harmony to the group, joined Roots Music Rambler this week to talk about the group's new singles, a potential new album, collaborations and more. We discussed their journey to be musicians, and their history with a previous band called Relic as well. While Adam has a day job and is a full-time dad, Aaron is busy writing, performing and producing. He's penned songs for Del McCoury, Michael Cleveland, and the Louisville Shakespeare Festival, and produced a tribute album for Mickey Clark. He's also the host of Bluegrass Evolution, a Sunday night bluegrass radio program on WFPK (91.9 FM) in Louisville. Also on the show, Frank and Falls discuss Grammy snubs and take a listen to Stephen Wilson Jr.'s astonishing new cover of Ben E. King's standard “Stand By Me,” which lit up the Live at the Print Shop video concert series recently. Don't forget you can now show your support of the show with Roots Music Rambler's new merch, now available at rootsmusicrambler.com/store. Authentic t-shirts, hats and stickers are now available. Jen and Gabe start the show discussing Jay Williams comments yesterday about Giannis being a perfect fit for the New York Knicks. Is this something Bucks fans are worried about, and do they think Giannis is going to be a member of the Milwaukee Bucks long-term? Jason Wilde joins the show to talk about his interaction with Rich Bisaccia, and how he called him "an amazing person". Was the trade compensation for Aaron Rodgers enough, and how would have Jordan Love fared in a world where he had to start a year earlier? Jen and Gabe continue the conversation about the trade compensation for Aaron Rodgers, and how well Jordan Love would have done starting earlier for the Green Bay Packers.
Today on The Neil Haley Show Neil "The Media Giant" and co-host Dr Robert Marx interview Jesse McCartney. Born April 9, 1987 in Ardsley, New York, to Ginger and Scot McCartney, Jesse began his career in theater with a national revival tour of The King and I with Hayley Mills (1997/98), and a notable New York Production of A Christmas Carol (1998) with Roger Daltrey. Jesse got the part of 'Adam Chandler Jr.' on the show All My Children for which he would eventually Emmy nominations in 2001 and 2002. After a brief stint in a children's musical group Sugar Beats, and later in teen boy band Dream Street, Jesse was signed as a solo artist to Hollywood Records. He released his first full length album on September 28, 2004. His song, "Beautiful Soul" was an instant hit and the album of the same title was certified platinum on February 24, 2005. His Departure album yielded another smash single, "Leavin'," landing him a #1 spot on the charts and was Top 40 Radio's most played song of of the year. His next single "How Do You Sleep" also charted in the top 10 in the following year. His songwriting credits include co-writing the smash "Bleeding Love" for singer Leona Lewis, which was a #1 hit in 34 countries; the only song in over a decade to achieve this status. It also won ASCAP's song of the year and was nominated for a Grammy Award. In addition to starring in Keith, which won five international film festival awards, McCartney's film credits include the Tribeca Film Festival's darling Beware The Gonzo (opposite Ezra Miller) and Oren Peli's Chernobyl Diaries. McCartney has voiced numerous animated characters for films, video games, and television series including all of the Alvin and the Chipmunks films, Horton Hears a Who, Kingdom Hearts, and Cartoon Network's Young Justice.
Headlines Truth and Consequences with some new boobies and a old BUTTHOLE
(Leavin' on a jet plane this afternoon, so posting a day or so early!) It is a wonderful thing when friends share a favorite singer. Such is the case with my friend of long-standing, Julian Long (once one reaches a certain age, one no longer uses the term “old friend”). As part of this month's series of Listeners' Favorites episodes, Julian has been kind enough to record a new intro for a Countermelody episode that I posted three years ago as a birthday tribute to the marvelous Finnish baritone Jorma Hynninen, who on April 3 will celebrate his 83rd birthday. Unlike me, Julian heard Hynninen many times in both opera and, especially, recital. This episode focuses on Hynninen's prowess as a singer of art song, beginning with some choice German Lieder recordings, but ultimately focusing on the songs of his native Finland. We hear Hynninen in performances across the span of his entire career, from 1968 through 2015. Needless to say, their great compatriot Jean Sibelius is foregrounded, but, there are a surprising number of fascinating composers in this magisterial country whose work also rewards exploration. If the music of Oskar Merikanto, Yrjö Kilpinen, Erik Bergman, Selim Palmgren, Fredrik Pacius, Väino Hannikainen, Taneli Kuusisto, or Toivo Kuula is not familiar to you, prepare to be delighted, surprised, and moved by the depth and variety of their creation. Soile Isokoski also joins Hynninen in an excerpt from the cantata Der Ochs und sein Hirte by Hynninen's multi-talented pianist Rolf Gothóni, who is heard in many of the selections. The program concludes with Hynninen's perusal of both pop standards and tango, both sung in Finnish. Don't mind Julian and me as we go off to individually nurse our mutual crush! Countermelody is a podcast devoted to the glory and the power of the human voice raised in song. Singer and vocal aficionado Daniel Gundlach explores great singers of the past and present focusing in particular on those who are less well-remembered today than they should be. Daniel's lifetime in music as a professional countertenor, pianist, vocal coach, voice teacher, and journalist yields an exciting array of anecdotes, impressions, and “inside stories.” At Countermelody's core is the celebration of great singers of all stripes, their instruments, and the connection they make to the words they sing. By clicking on the following link (https://linktr.ee/CountermelodyPodcast) you can find the dedicated Countermelody website which contains additional content including artist photos and episode setlists. The link will also take you to Countermelody's Patreon page, where you can pledge your monthly support at whatever level you can afford.

B. Cox reminisces about Jay-Z's eight album The Black Album as it turns 20. Heading into this album, it was being touted as Jay-Z last album as he was to "retire" to take up the mantle of president of Def Jam Records after the album was released. The news and fallout from it lead to a acrimonious split of the three founders and owners of Roc-A-Fella Records: Jay, Damon Dash and Kareem "Biggs" Burke. The news of Jay-Z's impending retirement while he was still on top of his game in every aspect, raised the profile of this album to another level. Teaming up with an all-star cast of producers, it was an epic album to say goodbye: mainstays Just Blaze, Kanye West, the Neptunes, Timbaland were on board to produce songs along with newcomers 9th Wonder and the Buchanans along with industry veterans DJ Quik and Rick Rubin. Focusing on his last album, Jay-Z toed the line of lyrically exclaiming his career in review as proud veteran while simultaneously giving us his trademark varied flow and style to show he could still make a hit and be hungry. Noted in the album is a more mature and at peace vibe from Jay-Z as he celebrated and reflected. The album was boosted by three singles: "Change Clothes" feat. Pharrell Williams, "Dirt Off Your Shoulder" and "99 Problems". The anticipation and acclaimed pushed the album to triple platinum certification. It is noted along with 1996's Reasonable Doubt and 2001's The Blueprint with being Jay-Z's classic albums. The album was also supported by a documentary feature film Fade To Black, which chronicled Jay-Z's "farewell" concert at Madison Square Garden in 2004.
