You're Not in Charge: What Ayahuasca Teaches High Achievers You have done the work. Built the business. Hit the goals. So why does something still feel off? For high achievers and entrepreneurs, the hardest realization is not that something is broken. It is that the very skill that built everything, your need to control, might be the thing standing between you and what you are actually searching for. In this episode, Rocky sits down with Yasha Shah, founder of Mahadevi Ayahuasca Retreat in Colombia, to explore why so many driven, successful people are turning to plant medicine, what actually happens during and after ceremony, and why the path to deeper meaning requires learning to receive instead of lead. In This Episode: Why ayahuasca is not a miracle cure and the reality of layered, ongoing healing How the need for control becomes the biggest obstacle for entrepreneurs in ceremony The five archetypes of integration Yasha uses to support people after ayahuasca The trap of projection and why we instinctively look outward instead of inward The spiritual and indigenous origins of ayahuasca and why context matters What "meaning making" is and why it is essential after a psychedelic experience Who ayahuasca is not for and how to know if you are ready Key Insights: The most fulfilling part of healing is not arriving at "healed" but the freedom, joy, and wisdom you cultivate through the process itself. High achievers spend their lives planning and controlling outcomes, but in ceremony, you are not in charge. You are supposed to be led. Learning to receive is the transformation. Projection is one of the biggest traps in self-work. The instinct to focus on what others need to fix is often a defense against turning inward. People are not lacking purpose. Centuries of survival-driven thinking have disconnected us from our bodies and the earth. Many are searching for a return to their original selves. Not investing in yourself is not saving money. It is the most expensive decision you will ever make. Money Lesson from Yasha: "What it cost me a lot was that I should not — investing in myself is not an expense." For someone who once made and lost millions as a stock trader, this realization didn't come cheap. Yasha learned the hard way that the returns from investing in personal growth, healing, and self-understanding far outweigh anything a balance sheet can measure. It's a mindset shift that mirrors the philosophy of the Richer Soul podcast itself — that true wealth isn't just financial, it's internal. Whether it's the cost of a retreat, a therapy program, or simply carving out time for self-reflection, Yasha's experience is a reminder that the most transformative investment a person can make is the one directed inward. The ROI doesn't show up in a quarterly report, but it shows up in the quality of every decision, relationship, and moment that follows. Why This Conversation Matters: We live in an era where mental health struggles are at an all-time high, yet the conventional solutions — talk therapy, medication, self-help books — leave many people feeling stuck. At the same time, psychedelic therapy is moving from the cultural fringe into mainstream conversation, with research institutions, medical professionals, and even Fortune 500 executives taking it seriously. But with that momentum comes hype, misinformation, and a growing number of retreat operators more interested in profit than participant safety. This conversation matters because Yasha Shah offers something rare in this space: honesty without the sales pitch. He doesn't promise miracles. He doesn't dress things up in vague spiritual language. He speaks plainly about what ayahuasca can and cannot do, who it's safe for and who it's not, and why the real work begins after the ceremony ends. For anyone curious about plant medicine — especially entrepreneurs and high achievers who are used to optimizing every aspect of their lives — this episode provides the grounded, no-nonsense perspective they need before making one of the most significant decisions of their personal journey. It's not a commercial for ayahuasca. It's a roadmap for approaching it wisely. About Yasha Sha: He's not your typical plant medicine guy. He doesn't do new age BS, and he sure as hell doesn't do spiritual bypassing. He had crippling anxiety, depression, suicidal tendencies. He was a stock trader who made and lost millions, and his life was a mess. He went to the Amazon in 2017 desperate for answers after therapy, medication, and everything else failed. Ayahuasca helped, but it wasn't some magic cure like people want to believe. He got sick again, so he spent a year in Nepal and India searching, and what he found was fake gurus, charlatans, and desperate people projecting their needs onto anyone exotic enough. In 2023, he went back to the jungle, and that's when everything changed. He got initiated by the Shipibo in Peru and Kamsa in Colombia, and learned that real transformation requires discernment, integration, and being grounded in reality, not fantasy. He founded Mahadevi Ayahuasca Retreat because he's against the idea of everyone becoming a shaman. He works with indigenous healers who've spent years mastering this medicine. Here's the thing: he's bilingual in a sense. He can understand the spiritual realm and language without losing his sanity, and he can bring it into the real world. That's why entrepreneurs and go-getter types like working with him the most. Good business isn't less spiritual than ceremony, it shows you're integrated and wise. With his partner Ania, they created the Ayahuasca Framework where anyone can learn the truth about ayahuasca and know if this is the right choice for them. Your audience will hear the real story about plant medicine, the traps he's seen, and how to approach this work without the bullshit. Srimad Bhagavatam [Bhagwat Katha] – Part 24 | Swami Mukundananda Swamiji narrates the divine background of the Krishna Avatar, explaining how Lord Vishnu descended to protect dharma and restore balance in the world. The earth, burdened by the tyranny of demonic kings led by Kamsa, prayed for relief. The devatas approached Lord Vishnu, who assured them that He would incarnate to destroy evil and re-establish righteousness. In Mathura, King Ugrasena was dethroned by his son Kamsa, who became a cruel ruler. When Kamsa heard the prophecy that Devaki's eighth child would be his destroyer, he imprisoned Devaki and Vasudeva. Yet, this very circumstance was part of the Lord's divine plan to manifest as Shree Krishna, the one who would annihilate Kamsa and liberate the world from adharma. Swamiji emphasizes that the Krishna Avatar was not an ordinary birth but a cosmic intervention to uphold dharma. Whenever unrighteousness rises, God descends to protect His devotees and guide humanity back to the path of truth. About Swami Mukundananda: Swami Mukundananda is a renowned spiritual leader, Vedic scholar, Bhakti saint, best‑selling author, and an international authority on the subject of mind management. He is the founder of the unique yogic system called JKYog. Swamiji holds distinguished degrees in Engineering and Management from IIT and IIM. Having taken the renounced order of life (sanyas), he is the senior disciple of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, and has been sharing Vedic wisdom across the globe for decades.
Srimad Bhagavatam [Bhagwat Katha] – Part 25 | Swami Mukundananda Swamiji narrates the divine and miraculous circumstances of Shree Krishna's birth. Imprisoned by the cruel King Kamsa, Devaki and Vasudeva awaited the arrival of their eighth child, foretold to be Kamsa's destroyer. At midnight, the Lord manifested in His four-armed divine form, adorned with conch, discus, mace, and lotus, assuring His parents that He had come to protect dharma. At Devaki's prayer, Krishna concealed His divinity and appeared as a tender infant. By divine arrangement, the prison guards fell asleep, the chains broke, and the doors opened. Vasudeva carried the newborn across the Yamuna, which parted to make way, and safely placed Him in Gokul with Yashoda and Nanda. Meanwhile, Yogmaya ensured the divine exchange, protecting Krishna from Kamsa's wrath. Swamiji emphasizes that these events reveal the miracles of God's grace: when He descends, nature itself obeys His will. The birth of Krishna assures devotees that faith in God brings protection, guidance, and the triumph of dharma over adharma. Srimad Bhagavatam [Bhagwat Katha] – Part 41 | Swami Mukundananda Swamiji narrates the enchanting Mathura Leelas of Shree Krishna after His departure from Vrindavan. These pastimes reveal the miraculous ways in which the Lord transforms lives and demonstrates His supreme divinity. One such leela is Krishna's encounter with Kubja, the hunchbacked maidservant of Kamsa. With a gentle touch, Krishna straightened her body and blessed her with beauty and grace. This miracle shows that God looks not at external form but at the devotion within the soul, and with His grace, He can uplift anyone instantly. Swamiji emphasizes that Krishna's Mathura Leelas are not mere stories of wonder but profound spiritual lessons. They teach that when we surrender to God, He removes our inner deformities — pride, selfishness, and ignorance — and fills our hearts with divine love. These miracles inspire faith that the Lord is always present, ready to transform our lives. Just as He uplifted Kubja and liberated Mathura from tyranny, He uplifts devotees who turn to Him with sincerity and devotion. Srimad Bhagavatam [Bhagwat Katha] – Part 27 | Swami Mukundananda Swamiji narrates the suspenseful leela of Putna Vadh, which reveals Shree Krishna's divine protection even as a six‑day‑old infant. Kamsa, fearful of the prophecy, sent the demoness Putna to Gokul. Disguised as a beautiful woman, she entered Nand and Yashoda's home, pretending to shower affection on the newborn Krishna. Putna attempted to poison Krishna by breastfeeding Him with deadly milk. But Krishna, the Supreme Lord, accepted her as a mother figure and sucked not only the milk but also her very life force. Putna collapsed lifeless, and when her body was cremated, it emanated fragrance instead of foul odor — a sign of Krishna's boundless grace. Swamiji explains that even though Putna came with evil intent, Krishna granted her liberation because she had offered Him the semblance of motherly affection. The villagers of Vraj were struck with awe and relief. Nand and Yashoda, shaken yet grateful, realized the extraordinary protection surrounding their child. The suspense of the night gave way to reassurance, as the mothers of Vraj instinctively performed protective rituals around Krishna, expressing their love and devotion. Swamiji emphasizes that this leela teaches us to develop unshakable faith in God's protection. Just as Krishna safeguarded the people of Braj, He continues to protect devotees who surrender to Him with love and trust. Even hostility, when directed toward God, can be transformed into grace — showing the Lord's infinite compassion. “Kamsa was the son of Ugrasena, of the Bhoja dynasty. It is said that Kamsa was the most demonic of all the Bhoja dynasty kings. Immediately after hearing the prophecy from the sky, he caught hold of Devaki's hair and was just about to kill her with his sword.” (Krishna, The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Volume 1, Chapter 1)
“In order to assure His parents that Kamsa was dead, Lord Krishna dragged him just as a lion drags an elephant after killing it. On sight of this, there was a great roaring sound from all sides, as some spectators expressed their jubilation and others cried in lamentation. From the day Kamsa heard that he would be killed by the eighth son of Devaki, he was always thinking of Krishna twenty-four hours a day without any stoppage—even while he was eating, while he was walking, while he was breathing—and naturally he got the blessing of liberation.” (Krishna, The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Volume 1, Chapter 43)

“There are instances in history of many asuras – Ravana, Kamsa, Hiranyakashipu – to whom the Lord appeared in various incarnations just to kill. Therefore God's mercy is shown to the asuras if they are fortunate enough to be killed by Him.” (Shrila Prabhupada, Bhagavad-gita, 16.20 Purport)
“Vasudeva took the opportunity of Kamsa's benevolence and informed him that his atheistic activities were also due to this misconception of life—namely taking the material body to be the self. When Vasudeva talked with Kamsa in such an illuminating way, Kamsa became very pleased, and his guilt for killing his nephews subdued. With the permission of his sister Devaki and brother-in-law Vasudeva, he returned to his home with a relieved mind.” (Krishna, The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Vol 1, Ch 4)
Why should companies rethink compensation strategies? In this episode of the Amazing Teams podcast, hosts Doug and Una sit down with Lola Han, founder and CEO of Kamsa, a company dedicated to helping businesses create data-driven compensation strategies. The conversation dives into the nuances of compensation philosophy, pay transparency, and how to keep employees motivated and appreciated in the long term. Key Takeaways:● The importance of pay transparency: A phased approach to sharing compensation philosophies helps avoid confusion, ensuring employees understand how pay is determined and when increases or promotions can be expected.● Compensation as a foundation for employee satisfaction: Fair pay is the groundwork for appreciation, but recognition through small, regular gestures is key to keeping employees engaged and valued.● Creative perks don't substitute fair compensation: Unique perks may be fun, but without fair compensation, they fall flat. “Bhishmadeva was a pure devotee, and as a military marshal he constantly remembered the battlefield feature of the Lord as Partha-sarathi, the chariot driver of Arjuna. Therefore, the Lord's pastime as Partha-sarathi is also eternal. The pastimes of the Lord, beginning from His birth at the prison house of Kamsa up to the mausala-lila at the end, all move one after another in all the universes, just as the clock hand moves from one point to another. And in such pastimes His associates like the Pandavas and Bhishma are constant eternal companions.” (Shrila Prabhupada, Shrimad Bhagavatam, 1.9.39 Purport)
How was Kamsa liberated when he was ill-motivated in his Krishna consciousness

Vaishnavas sing these songs to bring peace, prosperity and Divine Grace. Andal assumes the guise of a cowherd girl in these 30 verses. Andal appears intent upon performing a particular religious vow to marry the Lord, thereby obtain His everlasting company, and inviting all her girl-friends to join her. Towards the end we learn that she did not actually perform a religious rite; but is simply praying to be granted the service of the Lord for eternity. She yearns for everlasting happiness and service of the Lord. You were born as the son of one lady; and on one night, you become the son of another lady in hiding. Kamsa was unable to withstand you; you frustrated all his plans to harm you. You made useless his very intents. Like a tall fire you stand, O Lord. We have come begging to you to see if you will give us emancipation. To match goddess Lakshmi's beauty and service, we sing to you. Please rid us of our sorrows and give us joy. With this sentiment, come lets do the paavai nombu penance, o girls!
This second class will discuss a little of whose who in Krishna lila, the past powerful lives of Kamsa, how he represents misguided intelligence, and how to be aware of and rid this unwanted tendency from our heart.

“Heracles (/ˈhɛrəkliːz/ herr-ə-kleez; Ancient Greek: Ἡρακλῆς, Hēraklēs, from Hēra, “Hera“, and kleos, “glory”[1]), born Alcaeus[2] (Ἀλκαῖος, Alkaios) or Alcides[3] (Ἀλκείδης, Alkeidēs), was a divine hero in Greek mythology, the son of Zeus and Alcmene, foster son of Amphitryon[4] and great-grandson (and half-brother) of Perseus. He was the greatest of the Greek heroes, a paragon of masculinity, the ancestor of royal clans who claimed to be Heracleidae (Ἡρακλεῖδαι) and a champion of the Olympian order against chthonic monsters. In Rome and the modern West, he is known as Hercules, with whom the later Roman Emperors, in particular Commodus and Maximian, often identified themselves. The Romans adopted the Greek version of his life and works essentially unchanged, but added anecdotal detail of their own, some of it linking the hero with the geography of the Central MeMegasthanediterranean. Details of his cult were adapted to Rome as well' Megasthanes took the legend of Krishna to Greece and had it incorporated in Greek Legends. See the excerpts towards the close of the Post. Similarities between Krishna and Hercules. Krishna's Killing of Kalinga is similar to Hercules with Hydra. Krishna's killing of Kesi,Arishtasura, Kamsa and Hercules's step mother have a striking parallel Hercules lifting the world Legend, these are very clos to Krishna. It is of interest to note that Hercules is also associated with/as Balarama, Lord Shiva! This information of Greek God being Krishna may prove to be incorrect, but it proves Krishna legend was so alive( I am of the opinion Krishna is a Historical Figure) that the Greeks took him to Greece! Check the Links. Source: http://experiencehinduism.com/interesting-stories/heracles-derived-from-krishna http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megasthenes%27_Herakles#Megasthenes.27_Herakles_as_Krishna ” According to Arrian, Diodorus, and Strabo, Megasthenes described an Indian tribe called Sourasenoi, who especially worshipped Herakles in their land, and this land had two cities, Methora and Kleisobora, and a navigable river, the Jobares. As was common in the ancient period, the Greeks sometimes described foreign gods in terms of their own divinities, and there is a little doubt that the Sourasenoi refers to the Shurasenas, a branch of the Yadu dynasty to which Krishna belonged; Herakles to Krishna, or Hari-Krishna: Mehtora to Mathura, where Krishna was born; Kleisobora to Krishnapura, meaning “the city of Krishna”; and the Jobares to the Yamuna, the famous river in the Krishna story. Quintus Curtius also mentions that when Alexander the Great confronted Porus, Porus's soldiers were carrying an image of Herakles in their vanguard.” — Krishna: a sourcebook, Edwin Francis Bryant, Oxford University Press US, 20 https://ramanisblog.in/2014/03/05/lord-krishna-was-also-a-greek-god-hercules/ --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/ramanispodcast/message
