It's Casual Friday on The Majority Report On today's program: The Republican brand has become so toxic that even ancient conservative Fox hosts Stuart Varney and Larry Kudlow are being forced to acknowledge the party's lies and incompetence heading into the midterms. David Dayen, executive editor of The American Prospect and co-host of the Organized Money podcast, joins to recap the week's news. Topics discussed include the midterms, AI regulation and more. In the Fun Half: Lina Khan speaks to The Atlantic about how AI companies are already subject to regulation and laws and how that seems to be absent from the conversation around these companies. Alex Karp gives a bizarre interview on CNBC that is too incoherent to be summarized. Mehdi Hasan asks Nancy Mace if she was drunk when she posted an AI image of her and Donald Trump on the same day the president endorsed her opponent. The polling in Kansa, Iowa, Idaho, Texas and more suggests that even the Republicans in the deep-red states are not going to have an easy election this midterm. Ben Shapiro is very defensive over the critic's reaction to his new racist ISIS movie. CNN reports that a military intelligence report derived from false information from ChatGPT almost led to an act of war against a Chinese vessel in the Middle East. all that and more. Millainen olisi reitti Iranin vapauttamiseksi ihmisoikeuksia polkevasta pappishallinnosta? Studiossa Ulkopoliittisen instituutin vanhampi tutkija Toni Alaranta ja Ulkopoliittisen instituutin vieraileva johtava asiantuntija Olli Ruohomäki. Puhelinhaastattelussa Suomen Lähi-idän instituutin johtaja Susanne Dahlgren. Kansa protestoi kaduilla Iranin hallintoa vastaan jo kolmatta viikkoa. Toimittajana on Linda Pelkonen.

THE REPUBLICAN FIELD AND THE SELECTION OF ALF LANDON Colleague David Pietrusza. The Republican Party sought a candidate to challenge Roosevelt, dismissing a return of Herbert Hoover and bypassing isolationist William Borah. They settled on Kansas Governor Alf Landon, known as the "Kansas Coolidge," a progressive Republican who had balanced his state's budget. Despite Landon being a lackluster speaker and a "dark horse," he secured the nomination because William Randolph Hearst threw his massive media support behind him. Hearst's papers published relentless positive coverage of Landon, making the nomination his to lose despite the candidate's lack of charisma and national profile. NUMBER 6

Populismin voittokulku jatkuu. AfD järkyttää poliittista järjestelmää Saksassa, Nigel Faragen Reform Party on noussut gallupien kärkeen brexitin jälkeisessä Britanniassa.

Suoraa keskustelua luotsaa puheenjohtaja Maria Pettersson. Sananvapauttaan käyttämässä ovat Kaarina Hazard, Petja Kopperoinen ja Hilkka Olkinuora. Kaarina Hazard nosti pöydälle kuuman perunan: Miksi Palestiinan tunnustaminen on Suomelle niin vaikeaa? Kansa vaikuttaa olevan eduskuntaa myöten pääosin asian puolella. Tasavallan presidentti Alexander Stubb sanoi kuitenkin maanantaina Kultarannassa, ettei hän ”näe lisäarvoa” Palestiinan tunnustamiselle juuri nyt. Mitä Stubb tällä tarkoitti? Petja Kopperoinen on havainnut provider-kulttuurin nostavan päätään. Onko rantakuntoon pääseminen sukupuolittunut asia vai onko “velvoite” siihen kaikilla? On hyvä muistaa, että lihavuus itsessään on vaarallista. Miksi suhtaudumme siihen kuitenkin näin ulkonäkökeskeisesti? Pyöreä pöytä palaa kesätauolta keskiviikkona 30.7.

Geoff joins the conversation to discuss the potential for a "Gorlock" themed episode. The group discusses plans for a hot wings eating contest after the last race of the season. They decide to use chicken nuggets instead of wings and open the challenge to everyone, not just the Kansa's. Scott suggests having Jordan videotape the event. Geoff informs the group that he and his wife bought a new Subaru Outback, trading in their Jeep. They discuss Geoff's dad's recent race performance and the upcoming race at Pikes Peak. The conversation then shifts to Geoff's Coast Guard service and a comparison with Navy practices. Finally, Tactical provides his expert analysis on the recent incident where a Mexican tall ship hit a bridge, discussing various factors that contributed to the accident and how it could have been prevented.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/davisanddavis/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

A long awaited and much anticipated episode this week as John prepares to head north to Kansas to chase open plains whitetails with his muzzleloaders. John starts the episode off by talking about more local things like the deer he is seeing on the ranch and an exciting new property he picked up in Texas. After running cameras for several weeks, the outlook is not looking great so far, and if he had to choose a spot to hunt tomorrow, he would probably find himself hunting public ground. After the local stuff, John goes outbound and talks about his upcoming trip to Kansas, which if you are listening to this episode when it comes out, he is already there. John discusses his camp set up, his scouting, and what he expects to encounter. John did not have a chance to make a scouting trip over the summer, so he is going in completely blind. Though he did not get to put boots on the ground, he has spent countless hours e-scouting ever since he put in for the tag back in April. He feels confident that with a little gravel under the tire and some dirt under his boots, he can find a spot to take down a big bodied Kansas buck.  Learn more about your ad choices. A tale of greed, desperation, and morally dubious science. In this episode, we examine "The Mummy Resurrection" (2022). As well as reviewing the film, we use it as a jumping-off point to examine the first three rulers of the 1st Dynasty: Narmer, Hor-Aha, and Djer, in an attempt to build a picture of what the newly unified Egypt would have looked like between 3100 BC and 3000 BC. Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/MummyMoviePodcast Email: mummymoviepodcast@gmail.com BibliographyHart, G. This week, we talk about successful artists who blew it all with dumb decisions.  Youth, fame and amazing amounts of money – what could go wrong?  Our “Album You Must Hear Before You Die” is the wonderful Aladdin Sane, by David Bowie. The cover artwork, featuring a lightning bolt across his face is one of the best-known images in rock, while the album marks Bowie's tougher, heavier attempt to conquer America.    In Rock News, we hear about Gene Simmons, The Eagles, Iron Maiden, Journey, Judas Priest, Kansa, Lynard Skynyrd and ZZ Top, and raise the age-old question, “Why can't the members of KISS just get along?”  Enjoy   References:  David Bowie, “Aladdin Sane”, Ken Scott, The Jean Genie, Globite bag, George Best, MC Hammer, David Crosby, TLC, 50 Cent, Lauryn Hill, Fugees, “Killing Me Softly”, Meat Loaf, “Bat Out of Hell”, Ted Nugent, Billy Joel, Leif Garrett, Willie Nelson, Mick Fleetwood, Harry Nilsson, Michael Jackson, Peter Green, Bill Nighy, Billy Mack, Love Actually, Warren Zevon Episode Playlist - Fame is no guarantee against stupidityNickelback album ranking
