Edward Saylor volunteered to be a flight engineer on a dangerous mission more than 80 years ago. Saylor grew up in rural eastern Montana and lived in Enumclaw for many years before passing away in January 2015. A rare tornado touched down in Washington and early reports are showing that it caused some catastrophic damage. It touched down only 70 kilometres away from Seattle. Earlier today on the Jon McComb show, Simi Sara spoke with Kiro Radio's Hanna Scott about the situation in Washington, outlining the damage that was done. Based on the fact that there were no real warnings, early reports from social media served as the news for a lot of people. The mayor of Port Orchard, Robert Putaansuu, spoke to the media earlier this morning as part of a briefing regarding the response to the tornado.
