122: The Costly Truth of Ignoring Estate Planning Like Jay Leno

Absolute Trust Talk

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 21, 2024 9:33

You may have heard the recent news that Jay Leno filed a conservatorship over his wife, Mavis Leno's estate. The couple does not have an estate plan, and his goal is to gain special permission from the court to set up a plan for both of them. As Kirsten and Madison point out, the main issue is not what happens if Mavis dies but instead if Jay were to die first. Given that Mavis is already incapacitated, who will manage their assets and decision-making? We hope you will join us for this discussion that underscores just how important it is to have an estate plan in place to avoid the costly and very public conservatorship court proceedings, among other protections. Time-stamped Show Notes: 0:00 Introduction 0:53 To kick things off, Madison is shedding light on conservatorship and how it applies to the Jay Leno court proceedings. 1:57 Jay and his wife Mavis have been married for a long time and don't have any children. He is her heir if she were to die first, so why is he worried about an estate plan now? 3:36 This isn't the typical way to go about estate planning, and it certainly isn't ideal. Listen in a Madison discusses some of the issues with the approach Jay Leno is taking.

He will share what he does and his mindset to achieve where he is now. Open your mind to the pieces of knowledge and tips to earn your name.  Summary: The majority of people want to be successful in life. And who doesn't want to live an enjoyable life? Though it is not easy, what are the things you need to look out for to be successful both in your business and family? Learn the right mindset to achieve to be successful in life. James Krause, UFC fighter, coach, and entrepreneur, has gone through a lot in his life since he was growing up. Breaking through his struggles, he became a successful and inspirational man. Monetizing the things he loves doing is one of the ways James does to achieve a successful life. Giving importance to your family is also essential to be done. Quotes: “The world will bring itself to you if you're creating things that are passionate to you.” “Finding that happy medium with family, friends, and those important things is what work-life balance is all about.” “People appreciate any little difference.” “You can't give yourself a name. You must earn it, and it will be given to you.” “No two people have the same combination because everybody's lens color is different when they walk through it because they have something different predicated in life.”  Takeaway: Figure out a way to monetize the things that you love doing. Creating passionately will make your kids want to be around you; in the end, you and your kids will make it together. In work-life balance cost, It's not necessarily about how much it costs at that moment. It's the value it brings to that specific moment in your life. You're not going to make everybody happy. In every 100 people, there would be one hater, and haters are powerful since they're chipping away at real personal defects that people feel like they have. James does not have a problem making somebody uncomfortable with his confidence. Happy Monday everyone, Jay was a LITTLE overserved this week so it took a little longer to get this weeks pod out and published. Luckily Stack and our guest Riley brought their A game and carried the team home. They discuss college basketball, the bachelorette, why Christmas gets its own genre of music, and have a podium of gameshows! Hope you enjoy this week's pod, if not, blame Jay, he's dumb.@hungsundayspodhungoversundayspod@gmail.com

“Prepared parents are better parents.”  -Jay Gabrani   Life is full of uncertainties and we do not want to be left without hope and help when these uncertainties come. Wise people do well to prepare. In this episode, Art interviews Jay Gabrani, Founder of Prepared Fathers, to expound on the subject of financial preparedness. Jay shares his heartbreaking story and how this opened his eyes to the importance of preparedness, especially when there are kids involved. Like Jay, we all face stormy days, days that seem unending and hopeless. But his story can motivate us to see our situation in a better angle. It can be just a knockdown and not a knockout, a molehill and not a mountain. But these facts can change depending on how prepared and equipped we are. If you think you’re prepared enough, tune in and see if you truly are. Good parents tell their children to prepare; better parents show them how.    Join the Shower Epiphanies Today        Expectation Therapy       Facebook       Twitter       LinkedIn       Instagram Highlights: 03:49 Being My Own Boss 05:33 The Sabbatical 09:09 Grieving Process 14:19 Financial Preparedness 20:32 A Good Insurance Can Save People 27:50 Numbness To The Outside World 34:32 There Is Always Hope 39:56 Molehills And Mountains 42:07 Knockdown Not Knockout
