The two began collaborating together in 1982 when Daniel asked Gareth to work with him on what became Depeche Mode's Construction Time Again. After Depeche Mode had gone home for the day, the two would stay on to work on their own sessions. This became Sunroof, and they worked mostly as a remix project. However, in 2019, they started improvising together with modular systems as a lark and enjoyed the results. Today Zoe and Easton are unraveling a complex yet fascinating story connecting a solar eclipse in 1806 to a future president, Chief Anderson's ascension to Chiefdom, and a pan-indigenous movement led by a Tecumseh and Tenskwatawa- the man that many remember as 'The prophet.' They won't be alone however. Our curator of Native American history and life, Sara Schumacher, is back with us, setting the historical stage and teaching us who the fascinating figures that make up this story are and how they got here. Later on, the former Assistant Chief of the Delaware Tribe of Indians in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and was a longtime cultural ambassador and Historical Interpreter here at Conner Prairie, Mike Pace, makes his podcast debut to recount his experiences as a member of the Lenape nation and explore the long-term impacts that the often overlooked indigenous population have on our state of Indiana as well as our nation. PDF. * * This is a work created by an unreliable author with a singular source to represent a vast nation of people. Black Hoof himself has biases that may leak into the work as well. He would have no reason not to mention the 1806 eclipse and the Prophet but since we can't read Trowbridge's notes we don't know if Black Hoof mentioned it and Trowbridge left it out or if it was never mentioned at all. Also sensationalizes ritual cannibalism which rarely occurred amongst the Shawnee and even rarer post-contact.

PalmHealthco provides market access, commercialization, evidence generation and go-to-market executive advisory and strategic consulting services to digital health, biopharmaceutical and medical device firms around the world. Mike and I talk about the differences in going to market and the commercial pathways for biopharmaceuticals compared to PDTs. We discuss the conundrum of pricing PDTs, what other countries are leading the way in the industry… and more! In this episode, we cover: The work and progress we've seen in the marketplace with some of the early trailblazers and leaders Should the DTx industry continue to pursue claims-based reimbursement, or would it be better to jump straight to value-based reimbursement? We go long this week to pore over all the shout horns, crotchy synth chords and late-80s affluence of what Mike Pace famously describes as Spago rock. Molly Lambert explains the Spago-adjacent music she and her brother have dubbed “Glass Bricks rock,” and the whole panel gets into what Wolfgang Puck and Spago as fantasy and reality meant to pop culture from the 1980s onward. Nuo-lingo reminds us we're in a pandemic, and we leave you with a song in honor of the recently departed cultural critic, Lauren Berlant.

It's a trip down memory lane... as well as present boulevard AND future street with this week's great guest Mike Pace. Mike recounts his early days of being in a band on Long Island, finding success with the Oxford Collapse, doing standup, hosting the great (and defunct) Worst Gig Ever Podcast, and finally, writing and producing his new solo album. Mike Pace and the Child Actors' "Best Boy" is out NOW... go check it out. Enjoy!
On today's show, I talk to musician Mike Pace. A Long Island native, Mike was a member of the popular indie rock band Oxford Collapse, who were together from 2002 to 2009. They released four albums: two on Kanine and two on Sub Pop. Mike also co-hosted the awesome podcast Worst Gig Ever, which ran for 100 episodes as well as seven episodes on Official Comedy's YouTube channel. On January 13th, Self-Starter Foundation will release Mike's first solo album Best Boy, which he recorded under the name Mike Pace and the Child Actors. This is the website for Beginnings, subscribe on iTunes, follow me on Twitter.
DOWNLOAD SUBSCRIBE ON ITUNES Mike Pace (Oxford Collapse, Mike Pace & The Child Actors) is on the podcast this week to discuss the bizarre nature of how pro wrestling deals with popular music, as we watch bad Youtube clips, such as… – P.N. News breaking it down at the Bull Drop Inn – The debut […]
On today's show, I talk to Keith and Kenny Lucas AKA The Lucas Bros. Born in Newark and raised in North Carolina, Keith and Kenny were on the path to become lawyers before turning to comedy. And thankfully their choice has been validated by a great deal of success. A few years ago, they debuted their stand-up on Late Night, and since then have created Lucas Bros. Moving Co. for Fox's ADHD, they've appeared in the hit film 22 Jump Street, and they've written and performed on truTV's new sketch show Friends of the People. This is the website for Beginnings, subscribe on iTunes, follow me on Twitter, and check out my gameshow podcast Snap Impression!
It's time for a "juggernaut of melancholy" with the most horrific episode of Beginnings yet! Three minutes into this baby, I creep myself out, and the shame train kept right on going as my fantastic guests stand-ups Bonnie McFarlane and Max Silvestri, The Colbert Report's Eric Drysdale, Todd Goldstein of ARMS and guest co-host Mike Pace told tales of inappropriate adult/teen relations, and (maybe less creepily?) what it's like to grow up on a farm, Usenet Star Wars fans fanfic, the most criminally negligent camp counselors in history, Lobot's International House of Funk, building a museum in your house, a Don Rickles puppet, high school mail order bride screenplays, and a long conversation about audio tape brands.Check out the website for Beginnings, subscribe on iTunes and see some live dates: on Aug. 31st we'll be live at the Out of Bounds Festival in Austin with director Todd Rohal, Ramesh Srivastava of Voxtrot and more, and the next live episode will be September 3rd for the Beginnings "Writer's Panel" featuring Jackson Publick (The Venture Bros.), Annie Mebane (Community, The Michael J. Fox), J.R. Havlan (The Daily Show), and guest co-host Opus Moreschi (head writer of Colbert Report) and more!
We’ve got a packed house on this week’s episode of Snacky Tunes! Greg and Darin Bresnitz welcome Claire Moyle of the Brooklyn Brewery into the studio to talk about this year’s Brooklyn, Sweden! Why are Swedes so in love with Brooklyn Brewery? Later, Mike Pace stops by to talk about his podcast, “Worst Gig Ever”, and how it aims to share musicians’ stories and humanize them. When band tensions get high, “Worst Gig Ever” delivers! Curses comes by to talk about putting down the guitar, leaving the mosh pits behind, and paying tribute to Chicago house. Why does Curses prefer using analog gear? Finally, hear a beautiful in-studio performance from Xenia Rubinos! Thanks to our sponsor, Tekserve. “Anyone who has toured in any capacity realizes the stress you are under, and being in such close proximity with other people, you find out that people need to let off some steam.” [22:20] — Mike Pace on Snacky Tunes
Mo Diggs - one of Long Island's finest and funniest comics (and perhaps the only one of Egyptian origin) - makes an appearance in "the green room" to dole out some nightmarish tales of performing at a Russian club deep in Brooklyn and bombing hard, the struggle to find his own voice, dealing with a myriad of eccentrics in the L.I. comedy scene (including a young Mike Pace), and why the kids don't appreciate Blind Lemon Jefferson. Tons of tumultous titter on this week's WORST GIG EVER!
