Some conversations stay with me long after they end, and this is one of them. I had the opportunity to sit down with Justin Breen for a thoughtful discussion about resilience, intuition, healing, and what it really means to keep moving forward when life completely changes. Justin shares how growing up with a World War II hero as his father shaped his perspective, why he believes many visionaries feel misunderstood, and how his own journey through entrepreneurship, loss, and personal transformation led him to a deeper understanding of purpose. We also explore guide dogs, fear, 9/11, artificial intelligence, and the importance of listening to your heart instead of getting trapped in overthinking. I believe you will find this conversation both thought-provoking and encouraging, especially if you're searching for meaning, healing, or a new way to look at life's greatest challenges. Highlights: 00:53 - Why choosing hard challenges builds resilience. 11:18 - Why many visionaries feel misunderstood. 20:29 - How resilience keeps you moving forward. 31:10 - Why trusting your intuition matters. 42:22 - Why healing yourself comes first. 58:27 - How AI reflects the person using it. About the Guest: Justin Breen's next book*, Epic Journey*, will feature an introduction from Dr. Deepak Chopra. The book also will be turned into a documentary with star actor Gary Sinise providing the narration. Breen also is Co-Founder of Corvia.AI, an education platform that teaches participants how to create songs using artificial intelligence. Breen's second book, Epic Life, featured a foreword from Dr. Peter Diamandis and has been the No. 1 overall book for sales on Amazon Kindle. A landmark day in space news: the Vera Rubin Observatory officially begins its ten-year Legacy Survey of Space and Time, NASA reveals it may send a spare nuclear-powered Mars rover to the Moon's south pole, Blue Origin shows off its rebuilt launch pad a month after the New Glenn explosion, Rocket Lab strikes an $8 billion deal to acquire Iridium, a brief Swift/LINK scrub update, and scientists hold the first-ever summit on sending humans to Titan. 1. Rubin Observatory Begins Its Ten-Year Cosmic Movie The NSF–DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory officially began the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) on June 30, 2026, following a months-long commissioning process after handover from construction to operations last October. Rubin's 8.4-metre Simonyi Survey Telescope, fitted with the largest digital camera ever built (3,200 megapixels), will scan the entire southern sky every few nights for the next decade, producing a new image roughly every 40 seconds. Each area of sky will be revisited around 800 times over the survey's ten years, generating up to 7 million nightly alerts and around 10 terabytes of data per night. The final dataset is expected to contain billions of objects. Source: NOIRLab / SLAC / Rubin Observatory press release, June 30, 2026 2. Swift/LINK: Scrubbed, Retargeted for Tonight The launch of Katalyst Space's LINK servicing spacecraft — riding the final Pegasus XL rocket to rendezvous with NASA's Swift Observatory — was scrubbed Tuesday, June 30, due to unfavourable weather over Kwajalein Atoll. The next attempt is targeted for July 1 at 9:43 p.m. local Kwajalein time (5:43 a.m. EDT). Source: NASA Science blog, June 30, 2026 3. NASA's Moon Base Update: PROMISE Rover & New Lander Contracts NASA awarded roughly $590 million across Astrobotic, Firefly Aerospace and Intuitive Machines for four new CLPS lander missions targeted for late 2028, delivering science and technology demonstration payloads to the Moon. NASA is also considering repurposing an engineering development unit of its Mars Perseverance/Curiosity rovers as a new lunar rover named PROMISE (Polar Rover for Observation, Mapping, and In-Situ Exploration), powered by a radioisotope generator for operation in permanently shadowed polar craters. Blue Origin Reveals Its Rebuilt Launch Pad One month after a New Glenn rocket exploded during a static-fire test at Cape Canaveral's Launch Complex 36A on May 28, Blue Origin CEO Dave Limp announced the company will rebuild the pad in a new 'horizontal/vertical hybrid' configuration rather than recreating the original. Reconstruction has begun, with Blue Origin targeting a return to flight before the end of 2026. Early analysis points to the aft section of the first stage as the source of the anomaly, though the investigation continues. Rocket Lab's $8 Billion Bid for Iridium Rocket Lab announced a definitive agreement to acquire satellite communications operator Iridium Communications in a cash-and-stock deal valued at approximately $8 billion — $54 per share, a 24.1% premium. The deal combines Rocket Lab's launch and satellite manufacturing business with Iridium's 66-satellite L-band constellation and 2.5 million-plus subscriber base, aiming to create a vertically integrated space company. The transaction is expected to close in mid-2027. Source: Rocket Lab / Iridium joint announcement, June 29, 2026 6. Mapping Humanity's Next Giant Leap — to Titan The first-ever Humans to Titan Summit was held June 11–12 in Boulder, Colorado, gathering planetary scientists and engineers to explore the concept of a future crewed mission to Saturn's largest moon. Organised by Amanda Hendrix of the Planetary Science Institute and hosted by the Southwest Research Institute, the summit addressed spacesuits, habitats, transportation and Titan's extreme cold, ahead of NASA's robotic Dragonfly mission, targeted to launch no earlier than 2028. Daily we are told that the things of this world will provide all that we need and make us happy. But every day those promises fall short. Is there a source for life and light that will provide everything? In this message from our FLIP Camp celebration, Pastor Jeremy Writebol unpacks John 8:12 and shows us how Jesus is the source of all we need.
John 8:12 Title: Kingdom Quest: An Epic Journey to Discover God's KingdomJesus is the source of all we need.
Today, we turn to John 8:12 to see three specific ways that Jesus is the source of all that we need. It's a message that develops the truth the kids of Woodside White Lake looked at in FLIP Camp the past week. Listen as Pastor Rob Bentz shares our latest sermon, An Epic Journey to Discover God's Kingdom.
This week, we take a break from the Passing the Baton series to celebrate FLIP Camp. Let's explore together into John 8:12, which is the same scripture that the children have been memorizing and studying all week at camp. Abe Philip shares this message which reminds us that Jesus is the source of all we need. Jesus is the light of the world, and this very same light now shines in us so that all may see!

You know I like a good ski story. Today's guest has one of the best. Jake Brown never made it to junior nationals and assumed he wouldn't pursue sports in college. Instead, he wound up being a DI, DII and DIII athlete, leading St. Olaf to a national title in cross-country and emerging as an All-American as a super-senior at Northern Michigan. Along the way, he discovered biathlon — a sport which brought him around the world over the course of successful decade-plus pro career. Brown represented Team USA at 5 world championships and an Olympics. He retired after this season, but stumbled upon the Seder-Skier Podcast before it started.

The Entrepreneur's Anxiety Problem: Why Money Won't Fix Your Broken Heart with Justin Breen Why Money Won't Fix Your Broken Heart Justin Breen has built successful companies, achieved financial success, and reached the pinnacle of what society tells us to chase. Then he walked away from it all. Why? Because he realized money won't fix a broken heart, and scaling your business without healing first might actually be making things worse. In this conversation, Justin challenges everything we've been taught about success, leadership, and what actually matters for business owners and entrepreneurs. Key Learning Insights The Word "Business" Literally Means Anxiety The etymology of common business words reveals uncomfortable truths. "Business" comes from the Latin "bisignus" meaning anxiety. When you scale your business, you're scaling your anxiety. Understanding this fundamental construct can shift how you approach growth. Money Beyond Basic Needs Doesn't Increase Happiness Once your basics are covered (food, shelter, safety), additional income doesn't change your happiness or fulfillment. Justin has experienced years of significant income and realized it meant nothing to his actual well-being. This liberates entrepreneurs to stop chasing money as the answer to internal problems. Parents Talk AT Their Children Instead of WITH Them The breakdown in family communication mirrors the breakdown in business leadership. When parents (and leaders) don't listen with presence and eye contact, children disconnect from their feelings and learn to hide their authentic selves. Love for children is spelled T-I-M-E: presence and connection. Your Heart Is More Powerful Than Your Brain Entrepreneurs are conditioned to live in their heads, overthinking everything. But the heart knows what the brain cannot access. True innovation and leadership come from feeling leading with thinking supporting, not the reverse. When you lead from your heart instead of your anxiety, everything changes. Breaking Free From Social Conditioning Is Lonely But Necessary "For a select few, there is a determination to seek liberation from social hypnosis." Once you see that the world is scaling anxiety and things that don't make people happy, you can't unsee it. This awareness is isolating, but it's also the only path to genuine change and higher consciousness. Why This Conversation Matters This conversation matters because most business owners are building companies while their hearts are broken. They're scaling anxiety instead of scaling purpose. They're passing their unhealed trauma to their teams, their families, and the next generation. Justin's willingness to talk openly about his journey through the dark night of the soul, his divorce, the dissolution of companies, and his commitment to healing provides permission for other leaders to ask the hard question: "What am I actually building, and who am I becoming in the process?" Without this conversation, business owners continue the cycle of external achievement masking internal emptiness. Money And Fulfillment Insights Money is energy, not the answer. Justin has made significant money and lived a successful lifestyle. His conclusion after years of pursuit: material gains don't solve internal problems. The irony is that many entrepreneurs chase money specifically to heal something inside themselves or prove their worth. But you can't buy your way out of a broken heart. Once your basic needs are met, the pursuit of more money becomes a mask for deeper issues. Business owners need to ask themselves: "Am I chasing money to solve an internal problem money can never touch?" This reframing liberates entrepreneurs to build companies from authentic purpose rather than fear and lack. Key Takeaway The most important business decision you'll ever make isn't about revenue, profit margins, or market share. It's about deciding whether you're going to lead from your healed heart or from your unhealed wounds. Everything flows from that choice. Your company culture flows from it. Your team's engagement flows from it. Your children's relationship with success flows from it. The world's consciousness flows from it. Before you scale anything else, heal yourself first. Because when you do, everything else transforms. Bio Justin Breen's next book, Epic Journey, will feature an introduction from Dr. Deepak Chopra. In this episode, we sit down with Austin-based filmmaker Kelly Lipscomb, whose new documentary Bite to Bite makes its World Premiere at the Austin Film Festival. The film follows a single giant Bluefin tuna from the icy Atlantic waters of Nova Scotia to Tokyo's legendary Tsukiji Market — tracing a story of tradition, survival, and the global seafood economy. We explore how this cinematic odyssey reveals the human cost of overfishing, the future of sustainability, and why the fate of one fish can reflect the state of our oceans.
A black hole is a mysterious place where the laws of physics people are familiar with stop working. Black holes appear when massive stars collapse under their own weight. The gravitational field of the newly formed object is so powerful that even light, including X-rays, can't escape it. Every black hole has an invisible line-in-the-sand. Cross it - and you won't be able to escape, even if you're a beam of light. Beyond the point of no return, the gravity is just too strong. It's called the event horizon. There's a black hole about 1,000 light-years away from the Earth. That's almost 6 thousand, million, million miles. On the scale of the Universe, it's right next door. More than four times the mass of our Sun, this medium-sized monster is surrounded by streams of gas. There are two stars nearby. Scientists think this newly discovered black hole might be the nearest to Earth. It's also the only system with a black hole visible to the unaided eye. Good news - you're going to visit it right now! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

A journey that could only be described as a country song come to life. Professional modeler Bruce McRae returns to share his unbelievable cross-country expedition to four scale modeling competitions – a trip marked by disasters that would have sent most people packing for home. What began as an ambitious nine-week journey across America turned catastrophic when Bruce and his wife woke to find their campsite in Louisiana rapidly flooding in the early morning darkness. With water rising to waist level, they evacuated with their two golden retrievers, only to discover their vehicle disabled and their trailer ruined. Most would have called it quits, but Bruce's models had miraculously survived dry in their elevated containers, and the competitions beckoned.Renting a replacement vehicle at considerable expense, Bruce continued to Florida's Armorgeddon show, showcasing both armor and figure modeling. He highlights the benefits of open judging systems that provide detailed feedback to every entrant, allowing modelers to understand their strengths and weaknesses – a stark contrast to traditional competitions where non-winners leave with no insight on how to improve. The most remarkable aspect of Bruce's tale isn't just his perseverance after a second disaster – when a van ran a red light in Albuquerque and destroyed their rental vehicle – but his unwavering passion for the hobby community. His reflections on different show formats provide valuable insights for competition entrants.Bruce's extraordinary determination reunited him with friends at each show and allowed him to share his exceptional modeling work despite overwhelming obstacles. His story reminds us that sometimes the greatest modeling adventures happen far from the workbench, and that the true spirit of this hobby lies in the connections we forge and the challenges we overcome together.Model Paint SolutionsYour source for Harder & Steenbeck Airbrushes and David Union Power ToolsSQUADRON Adding to the stash since 1968Model PodcastsPlease check out the other pods in the modelsphere!PMM Merchandise StoreSupport the show with PMM Merchandise!Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links.
