But local providers say they won't get there. Our guests, Department of Early Education and Care commissioner Amy Kershaw and Strategies for Children executive director Amy O'Leary, discuss how the state can achieve that lofty goal. Host: Hallie Claflin, Gateway Cities reporter at CommonWealth Beacon Guests: Amy Kershaw, commissioner of the Department of Early Education and Care. Tuesday - January 2, 2024In the first half, holistic plastic surgeon Dr. Tony Youn discussed the uses and risks of plastic surgery, and how to look ten years younger naturally using the concepts of what he calls "autojuvenation." Rather than conducting more and more surgeries, over time, he developed a goal of keeping people out of the operating room and using various techniques such as nutrition and skincare to help them look and feel their best. 80% of aging is influenced by our lifestyle choices, he cited. Regarding people who seem to have too much plastic surgery, they may have the condition of dysmorphia, where what they see in the mirror is different than how others see them, and they exaggerate in their minds perceived flaws in their body or face. Youn also pointed out that doctors in the US can perform procedures without formal training or licensing so patients need to be cautious in finding a practitioner. His idea of autojuvenation revolves around five basic things-- what you eat, when you eat, nutritional supplements, skincare treatments, and non-invasive treatments. As far as diet, he recommended a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables. One of the main reasons our skin ages prematurely is through the process of oxidation, and colorful foods are high in antioxidants and phytonutrients, which stave that off. He also suggested anti-inflammatory foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, like fish, nuts, and olive oil, as well as intermittent fasting. For skincare, products containing Retinol (a derivative of vitamin A) can effectively reduce fine lines and improve skin quality, he said.------------------In the latter half, psychic Amy O'Pry spoke about her work as a medium, communicating with God, and exploring the realms of higher consciousness. She detailed the importance of connecting with the divine for healing and guidance, and her training at the Monroe Institute in different focus levels. "Don't ask for the spirit realm to help you if you're not willing to accept the assistance," she remarked, adding that this realm is really waiting for us to grow, develop, and listen. Regarding the contact she receives from spirits, O'Pry stressed that it's essential to set boundaries, and practice white light protection. "You don't want to be taken over, and you have to be able to be in control," she added. She recounted curious instances where spirits intuited to her to make contact with their living loved ones, such as the time she was on the way to the grocery store but made a stop at a shoe department on the way because she felt that the spirit of the clerk's mother was with her and wanted to relay a message to her daughter. During the last hour, she gave readings for callers. As to how she makes contact with their departed loved ones, O'Pry explained if the callers are wanting to know about a spirit, they are generally already with them. "I'll just listen in what I call a 'leaning-in', which basically means that I have opened my brain into a higher consciousness...where I'm going to let things fall in it. And then I'm not going to judge what comes because the message is not for me." --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/georgenoory/message

RICK FLYNN PRESENTS: BONUS SHOW: Very Special Guest AMY O'SHAUGHNESSY - Co-Founder of "George's Rockstars, a not-for-profit charity. Also, a brand new #1 UK Single (South Coast Music Chart) and a brand-new music video (link here on this page). Amy O'Shaughnessy, Co-Founder of George's Rockstars says “The song is in memory of our gorgeous boy George and is inspired by his journey with music therapy during treatment for childhood leukemia. We lost George in 2019 and we wanted to help other children like him who spend far too much time in hospital. Our mission is to bring music to every child in hospital across the UK.” George was diagnosed with leukaemia at just 22 months old in November 2014, aged just 22 months old. During his near 5-year battle, he sadly relapsed 4 times and after having all the treatment there was available including high dose chemotherapy, total body and cranial radiotherapy, bone marrow transplant and revolutionary CART T cell therapy, George passed away at home in August 2019, surrounded by his family. George adored music and nature and had a huge zest for life and an infectious smile and character. The charity was inspired by George's experience with music therapy during intensive treatment at Bristol Children's Hospital. Music therapy was the highlight of George's week and gave a then 4-year-old George a way to express his frustrations and fears of being in isolation in hospital. Notes and Quotes: “I love people deeply, but I am a dyed-in-the wool introvert, so I restore my soul with quiet and simple things. And so, even as a kid I think it's sometimes hard for someone who's made like that and designed like that to find their safe place in the world.” —Amy O'Dell “Interpersonal Whole-Brain Model of Care. . . It's the balance of science and love.” —Amy O'Dell “There's so much in our world coming at us at all times. So much information, so much dialogue, so many platforms, so much!” —Amy O'Dell “When you talk about love and compassion for another, and just being present with them, there's this whole cascade of neurochemicals that are released in the brain.” —Amy O'Dell “You could have the best methodology in the world, . . .but if the person on the other side of that care delivery feels unsafe, feels like the brain is in a state of fight, flight, or freeze, not one thing that you are inputting or imparting in them will ever make a difference.” —Amy O'Dell “The process of going through trials and sufferings. . .if we understand them the way God intended them, they forge us as steel so we are so solid no matter what life throws at us.” —Amy O'Dell Verses: 1 Peter 5:10 Psalm 46:5 Links: Jacob's Ladder: https://www.jacobsladdercenter.com/ Free to Flourish: https://freetoflourish.com/ God Hears Her website: https://www.godhearsher.org/ God Hears Her newsletter sign-up: https://www.godhearsher.org/signup Subscribe on iTunes! https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/god-hears-her-podcast/id1511046507?utm_source=applemusic&utm_medium=godhearsher&utm_campaign=podcast Elisa's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/elisamorganauthor/ Eryn's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/eryneddy/ MB01R7RDWVY6WJC
My name is Amy O'Keeffe and I'm an Irish archaeologist! I'm currently a PhD Candidate with the Classics department of Trinity College Dublin (https://www.tcd.ie/classics/postgraduate/degrees/current-students.php). My research project focuses on body modification practices in the ancient Mediterranean, including scarification, head shaping, and tattooing. As with previous projects, my focus is trying to shed some light on under-represented people, which usually tends to be women. My goal is to emphasize the importance that these body modifications had in cultural, and self, expression, and to refute the dismissive and reductive biases in academic writings about this topic. As well as all this research, I am an avid crocheter, knitter, and cross-stitcher. During the pandemic, when I was doing my masters degree from home, I would be crafting while in class, and found that it helped me focus. He showed up at her at job with coffee, flowers, and food. Amy thought he was harmless until he texted her pictures he took from her patio window looking into her bedroom. His obsession took a darker turn when he stole her mail, broke into her home multiple times, and took pictures of her while she was sleeping... from inside her home.
