Teaching in themes is something we're very passionate about, and it's something we include in all of our curricula and Mommy & Me programs. Themes are inherently cute and fun for kids, but the value of teaching in themes runs much deeper than that, and I'll show you why.   Listen in this week to discover three reasons why teaching in themes is extremely powerful. I'm sharing the science behind using themes in preschool, how you can use this concept whether you're a teacher or a parent, and why themes support the vital skills preschool kids need to succeed throughout their lives.   Get full show notes and more information here: https://planningplaytime.com/43

Click here to learn more and stay up-to-date on the competition!Jenny Rosario de Casiano: Living Life Expecting the ImpossibleThe word “impossible” can be a discouraging word. It belongs to a family of other dead-end, lifeless words which have death attached to them, and the dark emotions we begin to feel from these words are the effects of the whispers from the enemy. But Matthew 22:32 tells us that “God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.” And what is His Word? His Word is alive. Therefore, we cannot accept those words of death to our spirits. Protect Yourself with the Armor of GodLuke 1:37 declares that “With God, nothing will be impossible.” In Ephesians 6, God tells us how the Lord has equipped us as His soldiers with the armor of God, which protects our bodies, minds and spirits. Block fears of impossibilities with the belt of truth around your waist. The breastplate of righteousness will guard you from evil attacks and deception. The breastplate covers your chest, not your back — that's because God did not intend for us to turn around and run! He has equipped us to stand firm and face our battles head-on. Stand firm in the shoes of readiness that will give you balance and protect you when crossing rough terrains. With these shoes, you will walk in the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. Raise up your shield of faith to extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one.Put on your helmet of salvation to protect your mind, eyes and ears — each of which can act as portals for the enemy to enter into and attack our spirits through. A soldier without a helmet may as well have no armor on at all, because the mind is the primary control center for the rest of our bodies and spirit. When words or thoughts of impossibility come at you, swing the sword of the Spirit — which is the word of God — and declare that you are expecting the impossible because God is the God of miracles, the God of the impossible. The God who has healed the blind, raised the dead, and fed the multitudes. He tells us to stand in faith and expect the impossible from Him again and again. He is the God of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Expectation is the boundary line of possibility. When you hang out with the God of the impossible, you expand your expectation. The God of MiraclesI share this message with you from experience. Since early in life, I've struggled with major, life-threatening illnesses. This eventually led to self-esteem issues, fear, a lack of self-worth, and depression. Feelings that many of you also know very well. The enemy began to whisper lies to me. If my physical ailments weren't going to take my life, the enemy had a whole other strategy to take me out. But God did not and will not allow that to happen if we stand in faith. At two years old, I survived a ruptured appendix. It took two weeks for the doctors to make the discovery. They found an inexplicable, never-seen-before thick wall of tissue formed around my appendix, trapping the poison that should have spread throughout my body and killed me. I was rushed into surgery and then labeled a “miracle child.” My mother stood in the gap of faith for me, and God continued to perform miracles in my life after that. Fast-forward to my 30th birthday. I was a single mom to a five-year-old son and found myself in a wheelchair. I had suffered a car accident, and it left me with spinal injuries that prevented me from walking. The doctors had told me that if I did not walk within six months, I would likely never walk again. There goes one of those buzzwords! I did not accept that I would never walk again, because I believed that the impossible was possible with God. I went home that day and bought a beautiful pair of purple high heels online and hung them right in front of my bed so that, every day, they would remind me that I would walk in them one day. Changing “Impossible” to “Possible”It was a two-and-a-half year journey of praying, rolling around in faith in my wheelchair, seeing a chiropractor, and finally, learning how to walk again through the grace of God. I am living and walking proof that both you and I can expect the impossible! If you stand in faith and change your perspective on the word “impossible,” you can change the meaning and outcome of that word from something unachievable to the contrary — absolutely achievable. The word “impossible” becomes the words, “I'm possible.”  BIO: JENNY ROSARIO de CASIANO is an actor, spokesperson, author, and philanthropist living in Florida with her husband. Dr. Dan tackles a personal topic on today’s episode: Dyslexia. Dyslexia has personally touched Dr. Dan and his family and today he explores the diagnosis with the premiere expert on dyslexia and learning differences. In this interview with Dr. Fernette Eide (co-author of The Dyslexic Advantage and The Mislabeled Child) and founder (with her husband Dr. Brock Eide) of the nonprofit Dyslexic Advantage, Dr. Dan gives listeners access to the most important information about dyslexia and learning differences. Dr. Fernette’s incredible work, along with her husband Dr. Brock, through Dyslexic Advantage along with her passion for helping children and families is changing the paradigm of how people see dyslexia every day. By focusing on the tremendous strengths, Dyslexic Advantage has shaped a positive identity for children with dyslexia and created a compassionate, thriving, dynamic and informed community. Listeners will learn about early signs of dyslexia, new approaches including diverse learning techniques, why it’s a great time to have dyslexia right now (according to Dr. Fernette!) along with some fun trivia about successful dyslexics and the seven wonders of the world! In this episode Dr. Fernette explores definitions of dyslexia, the history of the diagnosis, how to empower parents and ways to show kids how they can maximize their potential. She offers advice about testing your child for dyslexia, finding out how to navigate school subjects based on strengths, and why it’s important to trust your instincts as a parent. For many, however, relationships aren't so easy. In fact, they are such a challenge to the individual, that a person can be said to have relationship anxiety or suffer from “commitment phobia.” Commitment issues in relationships are nothing new, but it is a very real experience of anxiety and fear.
