He appeared on Broadway dancing behind Rudolph Nureyev and the Joffrey Ballet in Homage to Diaghilev at the Mark Hellinger Theatre. Stan worked in casting before moving to Los Angeles, where he's been part of one of the longest running comedy writing teams, Zimmerman & Berg. Along with James Berg, Stan's worked on many television series, including season one of The Golden Girls, Brothers, Fame, Hooperman, Something Wilder, Roseanne, Wanda at Large and the highly successful fifth season of Gilmore Girls. They penned the "Norman Mailer, I'm Pregnant" episode. Z&B (as they're also known) have 2 WGA nominations to their credit -- "Rose's Mother" from The Golden Girls and the other for "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", the infamous lesbian kiss episode of Roseanne. Stan conceived, adapted and directed, SUICIDE NOTES: In Their Own Words, which won a Hollywood Fringe Festival 2015 Encore Producers' Award. The show starred Oliva d'Abo, Allie Gonino, Peter Onorati, Brendan Robinson. It's a one hour theatre piece in the vein of The Vagina Monlogoues. There was a benefit/reading of the play, now entitled Right Before I Go, Monday Dec 4 2017 at NYC's Town Hall. The all-star cast included: Ellen Burstyn, Judith Light, Michael Cerveris, Hari Nef, Maulik Pancholy, Alice Ripley, Lois Smith, Amber Tamblyn, Raviv Ullman and Vanessa Williams. A one night benefit of the play was performed at The Ratner Museum in Bethseda, Maryland June 2018 and in Orlando at The Mezz in Sept on International Suicide Prevention Day. Stan performed in the piece as "The Narrator" in Orlando and for a two night engagement at Claremont High School in Oct. That show was performed by high school students, faculty and school board members. He returned to Bethesda July 2019 to perform again, but this time with a mostly teen cast from The Achieve Project. Forget about the Jabari Parker Revenge Game Part 2. This one was all Bulls from start to finish. The Bulls won with a 4-year record for team points with a score of 136-102. Zach Lavine seemed to have an answer for critics, and the calls on social media for his trade to another team for seemingly nothing. He’s definitely on a mission and with tonight’s performance of 35 points in just 25 minutes, including 7 threes. This was capped off with Lauri chipping in 22 points in 23 minutes. The offense had 32 assists in a complete victory. The new pairing of Denzel Valentine and Daniel Gafford is appearing to be a formidable duo off the bench for the Bulls with some productive play together. But when it came to the win, Bulls Head Coach Jim Boylen gave a lot of credit to Kris Dunn with the way he played against the Hawks, especially guarding Trae Young. Boylen: “KD is a good player. He's a top-level defender in this league.”     State of The Bulls:  Coach Boylen: “Zach wants to be great. He's working. His habits are good. I'm happy for him.” Question for the panel: Is Zach Lavine turning the corner, even if the Bulls haven’t found their winning ways yet? Can he be a team leader, an all star and consistently play at an elite NBA level? Last week Wyse and I go every game right except for the Golden State loss. Which don’t get me started on that trash fire of a game.. Chicago Police Chief Eddie Johnson let the people down Season 1 Episode 21, Dec. 3, 2019 The "Ray Hanania on Politics" podcast Eddie Johnson was fired Monday (Dec. 2, 2019) by Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Lightfoot said Johnson misled her, and also misled the people of Chicago. I give Lightfoot credit for doing the right thing because Eddie Johnson did mislead the people of Chicagoland, setting a poor example that goes against everything that we expect from someone who serves to protect the public. Johnson has not been truthful about what happened to him on Oct. 16, 2019 and the early morning hours of Oct. 17, 2019 when police found him slumped over the wheel of his Black SUV. Whose SUV was it anyway, by the way. Why was he slumped over? I don't think the public has ever received an honest explanation from Police Supt. Johnson. He could have given us one, but he did not. Instead, Johnson released a statement after Lightfoot fired him citing the inconsistencies in what he told her and the public, arguing that he should not be judged for the one incident in his long 30-plus year career as a police officer. I say that since we never received a full honest accounting of what happened -- and what happened to him is very important, that it does matter and he should be judged by that one incident. How do we know he did not use clout to protect himself in past incidents that may or may not have happened? Can we trust him to be honest when he was not honest at this crucial moment as a leader and role model for justice in our region. Here's my podcast opinion about this mess that Johnson just doesn't want to explain the.way he should explain it. And the idea that he should not be judged by this one incident in the wake of his long and distinguished career raises the issue of how we should judge others. Should criminals, gang bangers, street gang thugs and drug dealers not be judged by the moment that they get in trouble? Is that a defense that can be made before a judge? Here is a part of Johnson's statement: "I am making this public statement today, my first as the former superintendent of the Chicago Police Department. I am of course disappointed that I could not finish my career on January 1, as originally planned. However, I respect yesterday’s decision of Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Any police superintendent serves at the discretion of the mayor; that’s how it is and that’s how it should be. "When I announced my retirement last month, I stated proudly and accurately that I was leaving the Chicago Police Department with my integrity intact. That is still true today. If some want to question that belief, that is their right; but I know in my heart that I have always tried to act in a way that is in the best interests of this great city. One thing I want everyone to know is this: I did not intentionally mislead or deceive the Mayor or the people of Chicago. I acknowledge that I made a poor decision and had a lapse of judgment on the night of October 16. That was a mistake and I know that. However, I have no interest in fighting a battle for my reputation with those that want to question it now. Reputations are not built in a day and not damaged in a day either. They are the result of years of living. We reap what we sow in this world. I will simply rely on the reputation for integrity that I think I have earned during my long career, with the faith that we should all be judged by the entirety of our lives and not on what happened on our worst days. "

This week Kyle is solo having a very intimate chat with Joe Dosch about Black Metal. They talk about the strangely universal nature of this extreme music genre. Joe chronicles his early days of discovering metal and does a pretty fantastic job explaining the appeal of extreme music. They talk about what makes a good black metal band and they explore some of the darker and more unseemly sides of the genre as well. Good lucky trying to spell most of the band names they bring up this episode, but honestly its a pretty solid primer for the uninitiated into the world of black metal. And hey, we even stay on topic for about the first hour and change. The last forty minutes Kyle and Joe totally go off topic and end up talking about life, art, politics, and in general are two friends catching up and chatting. If you don't wanna hear two guys chatting, if you bail about an hour and ten in, you should get pretty much your fill of metal. Also, this was recorded in early June and then go lost in the cracks for a few months. This Is Rad returns to a tradition that we totally forgot to do last year! Kyle, Matthew, and Laura sat down a few days before Thanksgiving to chat and catch up. Unions Fighting over new USPS Equipment: • So the USPS has been buying new SPSS: Small Parcel Sorting Systems • The work was initially assigned to the Mail Handler Craft (NPMHU: National Postal Mail Handlers Union). • After a “better review” the USPS moved some of the functions to the Clerk Craft (APWU: America Postal Workers Union) o Facing and separating packages o Sweeping in rotation • NPMHU filed a complaint • Arbitrator ruled in favor of the USPS and the APWU How are decisions on new USPS retail access points made? • That is a question that the OIG asked… • USPS has over 46,000 physical retail access points • USPS using more alternative retail locations: VPO’s and CPU’s o Village Post Office o Contract Postal Unit o Managed by private sector partners • Cost USPS at least twice as much to on dollar of revenue from a traditional Post Office compared to alternative options • USPS opened 600 new alternative retail locations in 2016 • OIG Determined: o USPS is not always factor in it’s entire retail network when assessing the need for new retail access points o Did not always factor in the locations of it’s competitors o The USPS does not have robust data analytics capabilities to evaluate new retail access point proposals. o Lacks centralized system for tracking and recording proposals, related documentation, and decisions • OIG Recommended: o Develop comprehensive data analytics capabilities o Develop a centralized system for tracking and recording new retail access points o Update existing policies for evaluating the need for new retail access points.
