With the theft of the podcast 81 we have this after hours conversation between Luke and Graham to post. Our efforts to figure out what is going on are diligent, we found throwing knives stuck in the wall. We hope to have a culprit at the normal time next week and be returning to normal.

It's time for the 2019 Christmas Episode of the MulletCast! Why is this the Christmas episode? Because it answers a very important question - What do you get the town that has everything for Christmas? Why you give it a world-class music festival over two days on the beach ofcourse! Tim Donnelly is the son of a third generation Elizabeth, NJ firefighter, and his bro is the 4th generation. Tim grew up the youngest of four around the jersey shore and was into music, hoops, boogie boarding, activism, and writing among other things. Tim worked on the Seaside boardwalk, was a badge checker, and a lifeguard. His experience as a badge checker has helped him evade his fellow checkers and to this day he has never owned a proper beach badge despite walking area beaches like a Kiss guitarist (that's "Frehley" for the kids out there). A piece Tim wrote about a drowning victim lead to his work with Body Boarding magazine and eventually a gig as the music editor at Surfer mag. Tim also did important work with the Surfrider Foundation, eventually bringing a chapter back to the Jersey Shore. Tim turned these experiences into working with some of the world's biggest bands at some of the world's best music festivals like Lollapalooza, Woodstock 99, Bonnaroo, and more, and he has helped friends, family, and strangers alike rebuild after Katrina and Sandy. Ming Chen asked, and the MulletCast delivered! When Ming mentioned he wanted a full band live in the A Shared Universe PodcaStudio, it seemed only appropriate to reach out to Waiting on Mongo who rolled the full band horns and all in and jammed after hours at podcast HQ! Waiting on Mongo is an award-winning funk band from Asbury Park, NJ. Since the current lineup’s formation in 2016, They’ve been featured at events such as Jams on the Sand, Convention Hell, and other local events. They have also been on several tours spanning New Orleans, Charleston, SC, and Burlington, VT. The band features seven devoted musicians on guitar, bass, keys, drums, and horns, bringing funk and jams inspired by Phish, James Brown, Chicago, The Grateful Dead, and more. Waiting on Mongo released an EP titled “Just A Taste” in 2017 and celebrated it’s release at a sold-out show at the Saint in Asbury Park, NJ. The band recently emerged from the studio and more music is imminent! There are some heavy expectations with a name like Karma, and our new friend Jenn Karma lives up to the billing! Jenn performs under the name JAHK, which are the initials of her full name. Jenn has been a performer and storyteller since childhood, raised by musical, free-spirited parents who instilled in her a love for rock music of the 70's & 80's. As a teen in the 90's, she fell in love with grunge and learned to sing while listening to Pearl Jam, Madonna, Stevie Nicks, The Cranberries, Jewel, Mazzy Star and Alanis Morissette and taught herself guitar to play their songs and write her own. Bringing her poetry and performance to life on stage and in the studio, she blends her musical influences into a unique indie pop sound. After a stay in Cali and returning to NJ to raise her babies, Jenn joined the NJ music scene in 2014, playing any open mic she could find. She enlisted the help of the Freehold Borough Arts Council to establish the Freehold Open Mic Night at the American Hotel, started booking local venues, and partnered up with an entertainment company to play live music at events. Jenn was featured in the band The West Front, playing the Stone Pony opening up for the bands Bush, Chevelle, Lifehouse, and Switchfoot, and she's participated in APMF Music Saved Asbury Park, the Honoring Powerhouse Females Benefit, Soulsational, Jersey Shore Music Festival, and Porchfest. Jenn released an EP in 2018 and in 2019 joined the 3143 Artist Management roster who she's working with to put together a full band, release new music, and schedule show dates. To be honest, we are not sure exactly what happened during this episode of the MulletCast. We do know that about 32 years ago Nick West was particularly run down when he finally got to start his Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve, and he bumped into a particularly chipper mortgage rep with fat pockets in the Monmouth Mall parking lot. About 2 weeks later Nick had sold his business and dove head first in the mortgage business...a choice he has questioned ever since. Along the way, Nick has owned some landmark Jersey Shore area businesses and even launched the anti-5 Hour Energy drink to help him cope with the last mortgage crisis. Paul Musho was born and raised in NYC. He earned a Chemical Engineering Degree from Rutgers University and a Finance MBA from Fordham University. He worked for 30 years in big corporate conglomerates...Union Carbide, Krupp, Emerson and GE. There's a lot of talk about the man in red this time of year but we uncovered a doozy about the identity of the New York Mets' Orangeman when Brian Hentz of Ace Office Solutions popped by the MulletCast. Mr. Hentz may play a mild mannered copier salesman by day, but he definitely revealed the many layers to the back of his mullet, including his multiple American Idol appearances, hustling the bowling league circuit, gigging with his cover band, and of course the is the fact that Hentz and Orangeman have never been seen in public together! A Pittsburgh, Pa native Kevin Cronin became interested in the culinary arts at an early age, inspired by the women of his family gathering in the kitchen during holidays to prepare meals from scratch. The food prepared consisted mostly of hunters’ stews and game meats based on regional American cuisine, from smoking and drying meats, to the eclectic and sometimes strange cuisine of the Shaker Communities of Ohio, to the pickling and preserving techniques of the Pennsylvania Dutch. Chef Kevin has had unique experiences from working with several talented chefs in New Jersey, Philadelphia, New York, and Costa Rica. In New York, Kevin was employed by Chef Wesley Wobles at the famed Chelsea eatery, Porter’s. There Kevin refined his creative skills by working in a rather eccentric atmosphere. After his stint at W. Wobles, Kevin spent the summer at home in Southern New Jersey, working as the Executive Chef of The Seagate Landing in Avalon. After the busy summer season, Kevin returned to New York City and began working at Wild Edibles. He was groomed to eventually run the establishment as Executive Chef. Employing his uniquely formulated skill set, Chef Kevin designs delicious menus with only the freshest ingredients. At the Iron Room, Cronin teamed with Mark Callazo, an entrepreneur who fell in love with all things Atlantic City and set out to open a restaurant and speakeasy that celebrated his love for food, drink and Atlantic City's past, present and future. Mark enlisted Kevin Cronin as Executive Chef, and his goal was to bring globally inspired new American cuisine that focused on using sustainable, fresh local ingredients that embraced the season. The Iron Room team built what has become one of the most impressive wine and spirit collections in the country, hand selecting each bottle for it's unique qualities.
