Tireless synth-funklordz Chromeo had one goal in mind as they crafted Business Casual, their most presentable LP - make keyboard songs so infectious that even Michael Jackson would guest sing the hooks if heard - Follow the Rockwell Aesthetic. Never happened - but Chromeo are still awesome and the most reliable summer music festival late-night set artist in the game. When it's 2am in the Legionnaire Tent and you're putting glow sticks in your mouth and doing bumps of K off the backside of a frisbee, Chromeo is probably on that stage.

Actively pushing back the borders of techno language for the past fifteen years, German DJ and producer Thomas Hessler chose to relocate to Tbilisi, Georgia a few years ago and given the current state of the local scene, there is little wonder why. Tireless provider of equally hard-hitting and cerebral grooves that have taken him to play the best stages out there including Berghain, Fabric, Bassiani and Tresor, Hessler's name has become synonymous with stunt-filled, hi-octane sets and productions that operate in the gap between kevlar-coated payload, mind-bending loops and raging sub-bass drive. Expect a fiery, laser-precise deluge of ultra-dynamic psychedelia and rattling machine funk. No surrender.

Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, has gone out of her way to shield Prince Andrew from the fallout of the Epstein scandal, often stepping into the role of public defender when his reputation has sunk to new lows. She has dismissed or downplayed the seriousness of the allegations against him, framing Andrew as a victim of circumstance rather than a man credibly accused of exploiting his position and maintaining ties with a convicted sex offender. Instead of addressing the gravity of his actions or his disastrous attempts at self-defense, Ferguson has cloaked her support in the language of loyalty, portraying Andrew as misunderstood and unfairly maligned. This pattern of defense has made her look less like a voice of reason and more like an enabler, eager to protect royal image rather than acknowledge harsh truths. Her willingness to defend Andrew in the face of overwhelming public condemnation has only fueled criticism that she, too, is more concerned with preserving proximity to royal privilege than standing on principle. Ferguson has gone so far as to frame Andrew's disgrace as an unfortunate twist of fate rather than a consequence of his own judgment and associations, a spin that insults survivors and insults the intelligence of the public. By circling the wagons around him, she has become another layer in the wall of protection that Andrew has enjoyed all his life—proof that the royal family's instinct for self-preservation often trumps accountability. In defending him so vigorously, Ferguson has cemented her own reputation as part of the problem, willing to carry water for a man forever tied to one of the most infamous scandals of the modern monarchy.to  contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com

You remain committed to your service, and you encourage me in mine. 'Your seva will save you' is more than just a phrase to you; it's a core principle that you live by. Your natural curiosity and eagerness to learn have made you knowledgeable in many areas. Even when you cannot delve deeply into a subject, you learn enough to use it meaningfully in service to Śrīla Prabhupāda. You are never without a small notebook and pen. Time and again, I've seen you turn conceptual ideas into reality. Tireless and focused, with the help of many talented devotees, you bring valuable projects to life. It amazes me how you can hold so many goals, ambitions, and services in motion and still remain productive and grounded. Your words are always honest, sincere, and straightforward. You have a rare gift for bringing out the best in others, whether during sankīrtan, as a spiritual guide, temple leader, friend, or husband. You are an expert at fanning the spark. I love how life in Kṛṣṇa Consciousness feels natural and effortless with you, as easy as breathing. Together, we are blessed with a peaceful life that supports our devotional service, and we want for nothing. Though I already knew the answer, I once asked you, 'When are you happiest?' Without hesitation, you said, 'When I'm out on book distribution.' Then you added, 'or dreaming about being out, or also when I'm reading Śrīla Prabhupāda's books with a group of devotees. Episode Notes Just in time for Memorial Day, I'm honored to present a very special guest with tons of unique perspective on our troops and their pursuits! She is Sarah Whitledge Taylor of Henderson County, who sadly lost her son in 2012 while serving our country. Sarah admirably used this, however, as her inspiration to be a voice for our soldiers. Her faithful service as part of the American Gold Star Mothers is beyond commendable, as are her contributions to the Bluegrass Honor Flight and the Southern Indiana Honor Flight. Sarah will explain the incident that tragically claimed the life of her son David, reflect on her aforementioned endeavors in the years that followed, and discuss her experience planning/organizing Henderson South Middle School's annual Veterans Day program. She'll also speak of her role on the Henderson Veterans Memorial Foundation Board of Directors, and share what she believes to be the most effective means of supporting the foundation and the veterans themselves. NBN host Hollay Ghadery speaks with cultural icons, Anne Waldman (The Iovis Trilogy: Colors in the Mechanism of Concealment) and Andrew Whiteman (Broken Social Scene) who have collaborated to create Your Devotee in Rags—a metamorphic sonic poetry LP released by Siren Recordings in 2025 and is available from Spotify. The conversation starts with a discussion of Anne's epic, The Iovis Trilogy (Coffee House Press, 2011). Published for the first time in its entirety, this major epic poem assures Anne Waldman's place in the pantheon of contemporary poetry. The Iovis Trilogy, Waldman's monumental feminist epic, traverses epochs, cultures, and genres to create a visionary call to poetic arms. Iovis details the misdeeds of the Patriarch, and with a fierce imagination queries and subverts his warmongering. All of Waldman's themes come into focus—friendship, motherhood, politics, and Buddhist wisdom. This is epic poetry that goes beyond the old injunction “to include history”—its effort is to change history. Your Devotee in Rags is a missive to this age of patriarchal power, its songs and poems are designed to specifically confront that power and hold it to account. Taking such activist inspiration from musicians like Lido Pimienta and Tanya Tagaaq, musically YDIR blends acoustic and electronic genres, waltzes, laments, and Pauls Boutique-era Beastie Boys mash-ups all with the intent of creating a new artistic headspace: sonic poetry. The cultural direction is forward, the earbuds open up the stereo field, listening to YDIR is, in a word, empowering. More about Your Devotee in Rags: Your Devotee in Rags is a sonic poetry collaboration between Anne Waldman and Andrew Whiteman; an act of desire and metamorphosis expanding the performative vision of being at the horizon of new experience, stripped down, exploring the turf, through poetry and spiritual yearning. Anne says: “Wizard Hal Willner would be proud of us companions in the vibrational matrix. Comrades in a studio of subtle suspense, and where were we headed? A magnificent voyage! Tender, rugged, true. I met Andrew Whiteman, genius player, composer, scholar, in one of Hal's unpredictable alchemical laboratories. We instantly bonded as mavens of poetry and its attendant orality, dedicated to the passion of epic life that is the source of this album, the 1000 plus pages of the feminist canto: Iovis Trilogy: Colors in the Mechanism of Concealment; passages plucked to be re-imagined in ambient explosive word-sound. On the Yantzse, in a strip club, a maelstrom of memory honoring precursor male poets, dressed in the rags of Celtic hags, so much more as mendicant, witty siren, compassionate lover, exploding empires of patriarchy and war. A kind of mythic hospitality.” Andrew says: “It was filmmaker Ron Mann and producer Hal Wilner who showed me the way. Hal was my guiding presence—whip smart, funny, gentle, empathic. This album is dedicated to him.” More about Anne Waldman: Anne Waldman is a living legend. What does it look like to show limitless fidelity and tireless devotion to our work?  Mary was a mother of one son who spent her days caring for her family and keeping their home in Nazareth. We can assume her days would have been filled with many ordinary and mundane tasks. In this episode, we reflect on how Mary is the model that the Lord gives us to imitate as a measure of living out authentic femininity. Mary is a "gentle mirror" of femininity that gives us permission to claim the limitless fidelity and tireless devotion it takes to care for our spouses, children, and others as service to God. Redemptoris MaterImage of Mary Hanging LaundrySend us your comments!

This week's guest, GM Fidel Corrales Jimenez is an accomplished trainer, player, Chessable author and one of the busiest players on the US tournament circuit. As such a frequent competitor, Fidel has had more than his share of successes (including winning the 2023 World Open!), but I have nonetheless often wondered how he finds the time and energy to play at a high level so frequently and consistently. Hearing Fidel's fascinating life story helped me untangle the mystery. Fidel and I covered a ton of topics, including:  Why he quit his job as a computer programmer in 2023 to work full time in chess His long and winding path from Cuba to the United States  Attending Webster University with GM Wesley So, IM Eric Rosen and others  The most common mistakes he sees by his amateur students  How much he worries about OTB cheating as a frequent competitor for the top prizes His deep love for the Scotch Opening  This nearly 90-minute conversation flew by, and I am confident that you will enjoy it, as I did. How did the teachings of the great Greek and Roman moral philosophers shape America and its founders? How has the shift away from studying those teachings had an impact on the modern political landscape? Jeffrey Rosen is the CEO of the National Constitution Center, a law professor at George Washington University, and the host of the podcast We the People. His recent book, The Pursuit of Happiness: How Classical Writers on Virtue Inspired the Lives of the Founders and Defined America delves into the ideas of personal self governance and the historical and contemporary implications of virtues like self-mastery, moral philosophy, and happiness.Jeffrey and Greg discuss the transformation of happiness from virtue-based to pleasure-seeking, the role of deep reading and character education, and the timeless struggle between personal gratification and civic virtue.*unSILOed Podcast is produced by University FM.*Episode Quotes:Is there a connection between evolving definitions of personal happiness and political changes?07:24: Sometime in the 60s, the definition changed from being good to feeling good. It had something to do with the change in the understanding of happiness in pop culture and during the revolutions of the 60s, sex, drugs, and rock and roll, and the new emphasis on seeking pleasure rather than seeking self-mastery. Both the popular understanding of happiness and what was rewarded in the political system changed. And the founders saw a connection between the need for personal self-government and political self-government, understanding that unless citizens could moderate their unreasonable emotions like anger, jealousy, and fear, they wouldn't choose virtuous leaders, educate themselves about the basic principles of liberty so that they could defend it when it was under threat, compromise, and deliberate with those who had different points of view.An emphasis on deep reading in today's online world50:24: Citizens have an opportunity and a duty to read the primary sources, both the majority opinions and the dissents, so they can make up their minds. The same goes for news. We can always go back to the primary sources and make up our own minds. It is much more important to inspire these habits of deep reading and engagement so that we can take advantage of this marvelous world where all the primary sources are online. When culture stopped valuing virtues, politics reflected the change09:01: Once the culture stopped valuing things like self-mastery, moderation, temperance, prudence, courage, and justice to use the four classical virtues, then it became more acceptable to express this in the political arena. What inspired Jeffrey to launch his recent book?05:13: So, during COVID, I followed Jefferson's schedule. I got up early. I read the moral philosophy for two hours. I watched the sunrise. I wrote these sonnets, sort of summing up the wisdom, which is a weird practice until I learned that a lot of people in the founding era also wrote sonnets of virtue. There's something about this material that kind of inspires poetry. And what I learned after a year of reading this remarkable literature—it changed my life. It changed my understanding of how to be a good person and a good citizen.Show Links:Recommended Resources:Cicero's Tusculanae DisputationesXenophon's SocratesMaking the American Self: Jonathan Edwards to Abraham Lincoln by Daniel Walker HoweSeneca's Letters from a StoicThe Columbian Orator Guest Profile:Bio at National Constitution CenterFaculty Profile at George Washington UniversityWe the People podcastHis Work:The Pursuit of Happiness: How Classical Writers on Virtue Inspired the Lives of the Founders and Defined AmericaThe Most Democratic Branch: How the Courts Serve America (Institutions of American Democracy)The Unwanted Gaze: The Destruction of Privacy in AmericaThe Naked Crowd: Reclaiming Security and Freedom in an Anxious AgeWilliam Howard Taft: The American Presidents Series: The 27th President, 1909-1913Louis D.
