If brand loyalty is so critical, why does it feel like most companies are treating it like an afterthought by propping it up with outdated programs and hoping customers won't notice? Agility requires a complete rethinking of how we approach customer loyalty — not as an afterthought at the end of the funnel, but as a core driver of long-term brand value and experience strategy. Today, we're going to talk about the evolution of customer loyalty and what brands need to do to keep up in a time when consumers have more choices, higher expectations, and less patience. To help me discuss this topic, I'd like to welcome Raj De Datta, CEO and Co-Founder of Bloomreach. Summer is here, and many graduates are looking into the college application process. If you're not sure where to start, a college consultant can help make this stressful period much easier for students and parents alike. Today, we dive into everything about independent college consultants. What exactly are they? What is their role, and how do they help our students? We'll explore who might benefit from hiring an independent consultant and address the specific needs of students with learning and thinking differences, such as dyslexia and ADHD. I'm joined by independent college consultant Matthew Hayutin, Founder and Partner at Hayutin Education. Matthew began his career as a classroom teacher and private educational therapist, working with students of all ages and learning profiles. He has extensive experience as a college consultant and homeschool teacher. If you're not familiar with the role of a college consultant, Matthew breaks it down with insights into how the consultant's role can be customized to meet the individual needs of students and their families. College consultants can assist with researching and vetting schools and programs, helping to ensure students find the best fit, and navigating the application and admissions process. Matthew is passionate about his position and emphasizes the importance of helping students find ways to contribute and become active citizens. He discusses using targeted questions to understand students' needs and explore options that facilitate a smooth transition from high school to college. This episode is a must-listen for anyone navigating the complexities of college admissions. Tune in and discover why investing in an independent college consultant could be the game-changer your learner needs. Show Notes: [00:03] - Public School students may have a student counselor with 500 students, and the connection points are far and few between. Having someone who could work individually with the student and get to know them is very valuable. [05:19] - Another reason that a consultant could be helpful is that they are available in the summer when your counselor isn't. A lot of work can get done in the summer to build momentum and create a runway for the fall. [08:17] - Having someone who can really drill into what will help the student and assist with the process. [09:19] - Why would someone seek out an independent college consultant? There are multiple reasons including access and availability, especially over the summer, expertise, skill set, and bandwidth. [10:28] - The role of the college consultant. A strong consultant can help students create a list of schools that will accept them with open arms and ones that might be a bit of a stretch but worth the effort. [13:53] - They also help build executive functioning instead of doing everything for the student. [14:12] - The goal isn't just to get in. It's to find a place where the students thrive. A consultant can help find a good match for an environment where the student will thrive and ultimately graduate. [16:54] - Asking questions is part of the process of working with an independent consultant. [19:47] - What can we expect in terms of accommodation for students who have unique needs. [23:11] - One of the advantages of working with a college consultant is they spend time with the student and get to know their individual needs. [25:58] - Questions to ask when trying to determine if a consultant is a good fit is the amount of access, feedback, and timeline. [30:02] - Working with an independent college consultant can be a valuable investment for many families trying to work through the complexity of future college. About Our Guest: Matthew Hayutin is a Founder & Partner at Hayutin Education, a company that he founded with his sister, Amy Hayutin Contreras. “Is a microbe less natural than a cow?” This season we ask scientists, farmers, technologists and philosophers about how natural our food systems should be. In this age where industrial technology has profoundly transformed our eating habits and the landscapes around us, we explore whether we should let nature be our ultimate guide or fully lean into the technological innovations reshaping our world. From the traditional milpa systems of Mexico to the cutting edge laboratories of food scientists, we bring together voices across the spectrum: an economist, an indigenous leader, a food technologist and an agroecologist. Each presents their perspective on the benefits—or drawbacks—of 'natural' food systems for both human health and the planet's well-being.For more info and resources, visit: https://tabledebates.org/podcast/episode55GuestsAnna Lappé, Executive Director of the Global Alliance for the Future of Food Jayson Lusk, Dean and Vice President of Agriculture at Oklahoma State UniversityTania Eulalia Martinez Cruz, Director of the Food Sovereignty and Agroecology program at Land is LifeJohan Jorgensen, Founder Partner at Sweden Food TechEpisode edited and produced by Matthew Kessler. In this episode, I am sharing a conversation I had with Loni Bergqvist. Loni Bergqvist serves as the Founder//Partner at Imagine If. Loni was (and always will be) a teacher. Loni started her career in education teaching at a traditional school in San Diego, California. She became a project-based learning 'convert' when she started attending night school in Leadership at the High Tech High Graduate School of Education. She began to try (with little success) to do projects in her own class. Loni could see very clearly that her students needed real-world projects desperately but would probably never have access to this type of learning. Loni left her school to teach at High Tech High, knowing one day her mission would be to bring project-based learning to students who needed it the most; the ones who were in traditional schools. Since 2014, Loni has been working with schools around the world to re-imagine education. Her project-based learning expertise has been used in several international initiatives, including REAL-Projects (Innovation Unit, United Kingdom) and LEAPS (Kata Foundation, Denmark).Direct Link: Episode: CHECK OUT THE SHOW AND EPISODES ON ITUNESThe show is on Spotify!TOPICS WE EXPLOREWho is Loni Bergqvist? How has her experiences in all her roles impacted her insights on education? How can give permission for educators to be at different stages of learning about project based learning just like we expect educators to differentiate for all learners in the classroom? Why is it so difficult to do the project first before teaching it?Prioritizing space and time for educators to be able to learn while on the job.Problem solvers vs. problem identifiersSelf imposed rules and barriersFinal thoughts on pbl not being the goal.YOUR CHALLENGEShare ideas you gathered from the conversation with us on the socials. What resonated with you?RESOURCE MENTIONED IN SHOWImagine Ifhttps://xptrust.org/https://www.linkedin.com/in/loniatimagineif/

Our guest for today's podcast is Pooja Malik, CEO & Founding Partner of Nipun Capital. Pooja founded Nipun Capital in 2011 after a very successful career at Barclays Global Investors (BGI) where she was promoted quickly to become one of the youngest Managing Directors at the firm after successfully turning around BGI's active small cap equity strategy. I very much enjoyed interviewing Pooja given she has been a perenial “underdog” all her life but has tackled every conceivable obstacle and overcome them by leaps and bounds. As the middle child and daughter of a strong Indian mother who raised her family as a single parent after the death of her father when Pooja was 12, Pooja learned a lot about grit and determination from her mother. As a woman and minority, Pooja is a role model and an inspiration for all of us in the AAAIM community. I am so happy she believed enough in herself to launch her own hedge fund almost 10 years ago and took the time to share her story with us.
