Sandy Joy Weston is a mindset trainer. Her mission is to spread joy and she uses fitness and her endless positive vibe to help her clients achieve what they want in life with ease and joy.Sandy became the first female trainer for the Philadelphia Flyers and personally worked with Eric Lindros, Ed Snider, and Pat Croce. And she's not a pollyanna about life. We talked again--it can suck--relationship, they can be taxing, and all the little annoying things that trip us up daily. She spent one year working with top researchers, scientists, psychologists and humans like us, and tested how much time people would actually commit to to change the things they wanted to change. She thought it would be 5 minutes. Nope, the people have spoken. All we can manage consistently is 1 - 3 minutes. Wow, I feel so much better. Even I can do that.We talked journaling, morning routines, having a word to keep us on track with what we want out day to look like, and more great ideas for making change that sticks.Sandy has 2 podcasts, “Let's Keep It Real” & “Positive Bitch Lady" has written 3 books, Train Your Head & Your Body Will Follow and My 30-Day Reset Journal, and her workshops. Cancer.” Prior to her stage 2 neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer diagnosis, Menounos underwent treatment for a benign brain tumor and was diagnosed with type I diabetes, among other health issues. And, although her cancer was not initially diagnosed, she is thankful that it was finally found when it was and that she is alive today as a mom to her newborn daughter. In her remarks, Menounos discusses how she went from being a caregiver for her mom who was battling brain cancer, to a patient when she started to have health issues at the same time. If you were in Philadelphia over the nineties and early 2000s, and had even an inkling of interest in basketball – then you would certainly know Pat Croce. After becoming owner and president of the Philadelphia 76ers, he propelled the ‘last place' team to the NBA finals 2001. That was on the back of selling his chain of physical therapy centers for a cool $40 million. But was he happy? Despite these achievements, a pressing question loomed over him. “My wife would always say, ‘What are you chasing Pat? What are you afraid of?' … I had no clue … I thought the voice in the head was me.” Turning 60 brought profound changes. A T-cell lymphoma diagnosis led Mr. Croce to a new conquest – cancer. As a veteran physical therapist, he was adept at conditioning his body. Now, he had to condition his soul. On #VitalSigns, host Brendon Fallon discusses this inner transformation that helped him navigate through T-cell lymphoma. ⭕️ Watch in-depth videos based on Truth & Tradition at Epoch TV
On June 16 and 17, the University's Marcus Institute of Integrative Health will host its fourth annual Advances in Mind-Body Medicine conference to examine the emerging topic of how mind, body and spirit play important roles in one's health. At the helm of the event – led by the first-ever department of Integrative Medicine and Nutritional Sciences at a medical school in the United States – is Dr. Daniel A. Monti, the Institute's founding director and chief executive officer. In this episode of the Nexus Podcast, we speak with Dr. Monti about topics that experts will cover at the conference, including brain health, stress and immune health, mindfulness-based interventions and advanced mind-body strategies for specialized populations. We also speak with a keynote speaker and panelist Pat Croce, best known for his earlier life roles as a popular (and energetic) physical therapist and president of the Philadelphia 76ers who found himself on a path toward becoming more mindful and introspective even before a 2020 diagnosis of T Cell Lymphoma. From Physical Therapist to Co-Owner of the Philadelphia 76ers NBA team to Zen Monk, our guest today is NOT TYPICAL! He IS, however, something very few people ever achieve which you can argue is far less likely than any of the above. He is a Philadelphia LEGEND! His name is Pat Croce and I have known about him for most of my life (having grown up in the Philly area and being a Philly sports fanatic). As a serial entrepreneur, Pat has created many business ventures including my former favorite bar in Key West, Florida (he sold it off and I am not one bit pleased about that!) as well as restaurants and museums in St. Augustine. FL. He's always been fascinated with Pirate Life! He even wrote a kick-ass book on it entitled, The Pirate Handbook. About eight years ago, Pat embarked on a deep inward journey where he unplugged and immersed himself in reading, woodworking, Chinese calligraphy and stillness. A cancer diagnosis inspired his reemergence and we got him back now. And our wildman Philly Boy ain't the same! He's a Zen Master now! He's The Philly Buddha! Imagine THAT! Well, you don't have to imagine. I'm bringing him to you. And you're gonna love him! Tune in as we explore the distinction between pain and suffering, the wisdom of following your enthusiasm, and how to strengthen your "Let It Go Muscle." --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mental-toughness-podcasts/message

“No matter how bad things are and what you have to overcome, you can find pure joy in spite of it all,” says Sandy Joy Weston. Holli & Jeanna want to bottle up her passion, enthusiasm and joy into an elixir and give it to everyone for free. What a beautiful world that would be. Sandy Joy lit us up and she will to you too! As a fiercely independent child, growing up virtually on her own; she unknowingly found her superpower. In her quest to feel good, she began a daily practice with intentional words, movement and laughter. She dreamed big and grew up to be a huge success. Now she inspires all ages of people through her books, speeches, and practices. Whatever she does she does it with the utmost joy and love. She shows up for people without an ulterior motif. She says her success is because she tapped into her heart space, love and joy and she uses the same practice whether it's for one view or one million views. Sandy Joy studied people who were joyful and all of them started their day with something powerful. Life didn't happen to them, they happened to life. Everyone has the power within themselves to change their lives. Sandy Joy says 1-3 minutes of positive power thought everyday can change your day and change your life. Do this for 30 days to create a habit. Sandy Joy walks the talk in a billboard sort of way - she left Jeanna and Holli an extra razzle dazzle and smiles abound. It's all within us - don't go looking outside yourself. More about Sandy Joy Westin: Sandy Joy Weston M.Ed. received her Master's degree in Exercise Physiology from Temple University, and achieved her Bachelor of Science in Dance from West Chester University. She began her journey as a health club owner when she opened an in-home private training company called Specialty Fit. She then proceeded to open the first Weston Fitness in Bala Cynwyd, PA with the help of her mentors. After much success, she continued to open two more health clubs including one in the heart of Center City Philadelphia, PA. Sandy's vivacious personality and positive attitude made her impossible to ignore, so when Philadelphia's NBC 10 caught wind of her, they approached her to become their fitness expert. During her time with NBC 10 she hosted fitness segments with the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, and the 76ers. Her great TV personality took her to the Discovery Channel where she was the featured trainer on the Reality TV show “Health Cops”. Sandy also created the nationally recognized Philly Street Line Dance to help combat Philly's “fattest city” label in 2001, which she taught all over the city. An ever rising star in Philadelphia's fitness scene, Sandy became the first female trainer for the Philadelphia Flyers and personally worked with Eric Lindros, Ed Snider, and Pat Croce. Sandy also worked with the Philadelphia 76ers dance team when she choreographed and performed a half time routine. Sandy continues to be an icon for Philadelphia fitness and well being motivation. The past five years, Sandy has been focusing on SJW Productions, an international company whose main mission is to highlight all the positive in the world and help people come together to reach their individual and common goals. We don’t sing Auld Lang Syne, but we do get the year off to a pleasurable start with an unbelievably weird, bizarre and totally fun show. We hear about a Mexican Restaurant in Los Angeles where the rock group The Doors once had a recording studio and you’ll be surprised what now occupies what was once the sound booth! We also learn that Charlie Andrews is one tough dude! He is the reigning world champion jouster and he explains that it is definitely a sport in which you WILL get hurt.Additional Bizarre, Unusual and Weird Topics discussed on the December 31 episode of Ripley Radio, the official broadcast partner of Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, include: Pat Croce, the owner of St. Augustine’s Pirate and Treasure Museum tells us that his crew has discovered two ships that were part of Sir Francis Drake’s final expedition; we hear that ghosts were blamed for a stash of items stolen from a local police precinct that were found in one of the cop’s basement; a cupcake bakery in the UK nearly went out of business because they had TOO much business, thanks to a Groupon; and we are told by return intern Abby that an English historian was found with 20 female corpses in his house – all dressed up as if they were going to a party! Our last musical egress of the year is a rock version of the traditional New Year’s Eve song by the amazing Los Straitjackets. They call it Soul’d Lang Syne.

SlamBall is making a come back and ya boy, Vells, is gonna be an all-star.Check out this sick backyard slamball court:"IMG Global Media President CHRIS ALBRECHT, who in February convinced IMG to buy a stake in SlamBall for less than $5M, has spent "much of his time trying one of the toughest tasks in the sports industry: creating from scratch a league and a business that can prove profitable." Albrecht: "There are not a lot of new sports being invented. This was not just a sport that would be fun to watch, but it's a business that we can build." IMG in March held SlamBall tryouts in L.A., N.Y. and Florida, and "about 100 players are now training at its sports academy" in Bradenton, Florida (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 4/18)."OK, less than $5 mil? For this budding billion dollar sport? WHAT A STEAL!!!Slamball's greatest athletes compete in a high flying dunk contest:Further research on the slamball website and wikipedia led me to discover the following nuggets of information:In the 1989 movie Back to the Future Part II, Slamball was listed as the favorite sport of Douglas J Needles while Marty McFly was speaking with him via videophone.Q11: Where can I play SlamBall?A11: With the constant development of the sport, SlamBall will be available internationally to kids of all ages, very soon. It is the goal of the sport to become a common game played at the high school, college and professional levels. They have hired Pat Croce, the ebullient former president of the Philadelphia 76ers, as the commissioner.Q12: How can I become a professional SlamBall player?A12: If you believe you have the fearlessness, work ethic and athletic ability to become a professional SlamBall player, tryouts will be hosted in Los Angeles, New York City, and Bradenton, Florida in April. Fill out a player application online under Apply.....Filling out player application now.....Filling out coach application now.Coach application??? How the fuck do you coach SlamBall?
