This talk continues a review of what are called the cetasikas, which operate like filters during the process of self-formation, producing either wholesome or unwholesome self-state organizations. The primary focus of attention and discussion during the talk are those cetasikas that form wholesome self-states. There is particular attention given to the “Six Beautiful Pairs” of […]
The Five Aggregates can be considered as perhaps the first personality theory in human history. During this talk and one the following week, Peter reviews the Mind Conditioning Factors Aggregate with a focus on the cetasikas, a comprehensive listing of the multitude of “filters” in the mind that work to create each moment of consciousness. Who are you? Not who have you become, what you do because of someone or something else, but who are you in your metaphorical bones? Strip away all of the bits of us that are there due to external influences and why we do certain things, act in specific ways, like or dislike this that or the other, all of that is not US. Those bits are accessories. add ons, patch work. Didn't know your psyche was Frankensteins monster, did you?

After decades of using personality tools to support assessment for recruitment, succession, development and coaching, in this podcast we are debating the pros and cons of a personality versus strengths approach to assessment. We look at the various personality questionnaires developed since the work of Eysenck, Cattell and Jung, and the role personality has played in helping us understand individual differences. We then look at the move away from personality towards strengths and the benefit of taking a strengths versus personality approach. Finally we look at emotional intelligence, and the state - trait continuum. In this episode, the Chief Psychology Officer, Dr Amanda Potter, is being interviewed by Angela Malik. The Chief Psychology Officer episodes are available here https://www.thecpo.co.uk/To follow Zircon on LinkedIn and to be first to hear about podcasts, publications and news, please like and follow us: https://www.linkedin.com/company/zircon-consulting-ltd/To access the research white papers mentioned in this and other podcasts, please go to: https://zircon-mc.co.uk/zircon-white-papers.phpFor more information about the BeTalent Strengths questionnaires mentioned in this podcast please contact Amanda via email: TheCPO@zircon-mc.co.uk.TimestampsStrengths Vs. People with high conflict personalities have a pattern of high-conflict behavior that increases conflict rather than reducing or resolving it. This pattern usually happen over and over again in many different situations with many different people. The issue that seems in conflict at the time is not what is increasing the conflict. The “issue” is the high-conflict personality and how the person approaches problem-solving. The pattern of behavior includes a lot of: blaming others all-or-nothing thinking unmanaged emotions extreme behaviors Bill Eddy developed the high conflict personality theory and has been helping others understand the patterns of behavior and respond constructively. Freud's Personality Theory is how and why we think. My Three Of Me Theory is what we think of ourselves. Our pasts and upbringings have a huge impact on both theories... Today's episode goes over the relation between Freud's Personality Theory and drinking habits. All three personality traits all play in to our thought process, and our thought process is what brings us to drink. We talk about CPT terminology (ex. authority / oppositional / dip / auxiliary function, convergent / divergent, lens / codec, law of opposites) and about Harry's life.
Like traditional personality textbook, this textbook divides topics mostly by personality theorists. However, the authors also added some non-traditional personality topics, such as yoga, Buddhism, religious and African perspective on personality. The author's efforts to add these overlooked areas should be commended.
In today's video, you'll learn how to set the right goals for YOU based on your own individual Blueprint using the DISC personality theory. You'll understand why having the common 6-7 figures goal might be the reason you're not successful in your business or struggling to advance and you might even learn a thing or two about yourself along the way! _________________________________ ★★★★★ Review the Podcast → https://tinyurl.com/reviewthepodcast_________________________________ How to Set The RIGHT Goals for YOU Based on Your BLUEPRINT | Intro to DISC Personality Theory. Today I'm going to show you how to set goals that feel aligned with you. I grew up seeing successful people around me in the real estate world, so when it was my turn to start a business, of course, I wanted to emulate them. Now success leaves clues, Yes. But if you're striving to build a six or seven-figure business, chances are, you're probably not doing it in a way that's aligned with you. So WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE TO YOU? Sit down and write a description of what a successful person is. If that description doesn't resemble you and how you like to work, chances are you're working with a bit of misalignment and that's going to have a really big impact on the goals that you set and your ability to achieve them. I like to use the Disc Personality theory to really help people understand what their blueprint is so that they can start working more in alignment and less striving over things that are not. Now, the more often you can be working in alignment with your blueprint, the easier things are going to be.We will dive deep into figuring out your Blueprint by using the DISC Personality Theory to understand yourself. What are your strengths? What are your work preferences? What's the speed that you like to work at? What are some of the key traits that we might see from you? Do you prefer to work with people? Do you prefer to work with tasks? All of these things when they're brought together really makeup, up what is known as your blueprint! Knowing about these concepts will ultimately help you realize more things about yourself and how you're designed to work best! As a result, you'll now have the knowledge to set better goals that are in alignment with YOU and how YOU work best! _________________________________
Why I dislike labels - the legacy left behind after the reports and the assumptions. The judgements that are thrown out by people who don't have your processing challenges. Who have no idea how your brain works or how to actually support you.We only ever focus on what we can't do. But increasingly the personality content online is inaccurate and doesn't represent Myers-Briggs's work. But the limitations we often apply and our conditioning.

Everyone has a personality, it's an unavoidable part of being human. But how do you know what yours is? In the last several decades, we have spent a whole lot of time trying to figure out how to discern, articulate, and label personality. However, for the most part, personality tests have been treated like horoscopes by the Christian community. Until a newcomer arrived on the cultural scene: The Enneagram. If you interact remotely with American or Christian culture you have heard about and likely assigned yourself a number on the Enneagram scale. It's inevitable. But now that it's out there, how do you use it? What does a responsible approach to Personality Theory look like? And how does the Enneagram fit into the scientific approach to Personality, if there even is one?

How am I different from you? How are you different from me? How do see the world and learn about it? How do we make decisions? Personality theory, as we understand it in pop culture, is about unique gifts & individuality and how we interface with the world. In other words: How I'm different from you, and how we can live in relationship with these differences. Maximizing our strengths, appreciating our differences. We can choose to not live in judgment of our weaknesses. This speaks beautifully to the Desire Line path -- sometimes following the paved path doesn't bring the results it promises (union with God), because we're made in a way that doesn't fit the model. We have to discover our God-given way of walking. All of these and more in this episode. We hope you stay tuned! If you've been a client of mine any time in the last 20 years, you will have heard of Dan Harrison. You most likely completed the preference inventory he designed, and listened to me bend your ear about it. After studying in India in my 20s and traveling in China and Japan in my 30s I was well aware of the concept of yin yang theory - the completion of opposites. When I met Dan, he introduced me to the western version of this known as paradox theory and how it applied to business captured my imagination then, still does today. Dan who lives much of the time in the rainforest around Chiang Mai in northern Thailand was in LA recently and accepted my invite to have a chat about his global work around employee engagement and leadership and self-awareness. So fun. Dan Harrison, Ph.D. - Organizational Psychology. Dr Harrison is the founder and developer of Harrison Assessments' and originator of ParadoxTechnology™ as used in Harrison Assessments. His diverse background in Mathematics, Personality Theory, Counseling Psychology, and Organizational Psychology has enabled him to make a unique and exceptional contribution to assessment methodology. His 30 years of experience in Psychology and Assessment has enabled the Harrison Assessment tools to fulfill practical needs for recruitment, development and assessment. Dr Harrison's' ongoing world-wide travel gives him direct involvement with the needs of Harrison Assessments' clients and exposes him to the appropriate practical application in a wide variety of cultures.

The lecture focuses on the problems directly related to the personality theory as key to personal identity. The theory states that a person retains his or her individuality so long as he or she has the same ongoing personality. The main objection raised to this claim is the problem of duplication. The lecture explores cases in which the same personality has been transferred or exported to multiple bodies.
Two more views regarding the metaphysical key to personal identity are discussed: the body view and the personality view. According to the body view, an individual is identified in terms of his or her physical body. According to the personality view, an individual is identified by his or her unique set of beliefs, desires, memories, goals, and so on.
