To be honest, I'm in sort of a crucible. My constant fight for time, energy, captial and time-energy capital to maintain the consistent output of projects such as We The Hallowed, Pragmagick, new albums and performances, micro-publishing Somatick Magicks for Patrons--all of it has had to be under dire review due to my stasis of having to work away from home just to maintain a home I'm rarely in. It's dire, drab, disheartening and all around heavy that the fight for supreme artistry in the face of a megalithic capitalist undertow seems both ever so necessary yet ever so unnoticed. The cost of running this site, let alone all the channels of which to create our arts without much qualms, if any really, or monetary issuance has proven to be an insurmountable affair as is. But I refuse to buckle or bribe or barter with the great machine, and have taken the heavy toll and burden to internalize why financial independence isn't afforded from these ventures alone. That probably isn't healthy either, yet I persist. After wilderness years spent toiling and tinkering with ways to charge the current, it has become all-too apparent that the livestream's capabilities of creating wholly intentional transmissions and 'third spaces' of performance, sermon and vexation without appeasing rent-mad venues, other people's intentions or allowance of artificial intelligence slop could nominally be achieved through the art magick adherence to the liminalstream transmission. And what better to initiate a new experimental era of a wide-spectrum of dipsatches than under this excitingly rare fire stellium currently transiting? Due to my increasingly laborious schedule largely spent away from the Dimming Room, it became all too apparent that my way through with keeping consistent tithes to ongoing projects, lifting connected artists and We The Hallowed haunts, and growing the burgeoning patreon base to hopefully one day not need to suffer so much survival in this monolithic capitalist nightmare structure, allow the liminalstream a wonderful spectrum of highly intentional, heavily produced to topic based, low-tech dispatches from the sacred antenna of the PRAGMAGICK broadckast current. The thesis and experimentation behind the scenes has long toiled with ways to imbue the communion with multi-sensory transmissions. This nominal release of the ritual where the objective was to contact LITTLE WIND (or more formally Z the Redreamer) concerning the intentions of this new era and current cosmick transits would not happen, however. For no discernable reason I was run ragged with technical issues throughout the premiere that I still have no calcuable way to avoid in the future, nor way to discern much of why two separate computers used for streaming fell due to never-before-seen internal errors, let alone the spiritbox actually breaking right after I had recovered the stream and was ready to push on! Alas, so many lessons learned that stream, one of which is that trying a huge array of objectives within one stream is not only suboptimal tech wise, but performance and demeanor-wise as acting host, producer and performer is far too hectic oversee whilst allowing the artistic heteronym to control this vehicle performing musick, initiate meditative videomancy sessions and tap into the gibber-gabber needed to monologue to an audience concerning all the intentions therein! Not only were there obscure and completely unfounded tech issues on the digital plane, but in the physical my spirit box literally broke right before the ritual tells me that I was radiating an unseen reckless energy like statick discharge from ungrounded finger tips. You see, this is a long-storied issue with my performances, and another reason I'm attempting to get the sea legs of confident performance through these liminalstreams; I know I'm radiating, emanating, manifesting a nervous energy that is poisonous to electrical currents. Intuitively, I know it's me. If only I had performed the intended current cleanse at the top of the show and rested my gheiszt a bit before spelunking into a deluge of wild sessions within one stream! So through wincing and frustrated tears I soldiered on and concluded with a makeshift altar/Dimming Room Current Cleanse to ward off whatever bad ghost juju projected from my unwitting self (or, for safety sake, some banishing of outside dark dudes too) with a musical saw bowed through effects and guitar pedals. This very ex/o/rcise of the weekly liminalstream dispatches can help correct such energy diversions; and since, they've only gotten better if not more focused. It's this sort of deep, revelatory moment that makes the liminalstream so worthwhile to me as practitioner, aside from the usual experimental fare and art hexorcism the transmissions can dutifully provide. It also bestows the title of each Rite as the title of each LIMINALSTREAM. Perhaps I can also utilize the Divergent Magick Online Rite Builder when the hard or paperback copy is not on hand, thus allowing viewers to peer into the process. In turn, each liminalstream that doesn't so much have a presupposed theme or even thumbnail artwork will utilize the DISRUPTION GENERATOR to reveal a divinatory theme and its respective image (Such as the title/artwork for the stream above has). This allows for two thirds of We The Hallowed's scripture troikatych (or threefold equation) to be continually charged and investigated while the newly formulated 'Tethers', or We The Hallowed connective ethos, is formulated for publishing. This hodge-podge heretical holler of a video/audio cast is the final cross-current release between HAUNTOMANCER & PRAGMAGICK of the Seattle era. I don't believe I've been able to tend to these currents since the This transmission was a nightmare to cobble together—not because of any of the subject matter directly (although I'm sure the combined eclipse resonances discussed carry some blame), and not because of any prodcuction issues in creating its segments—but because of the tundra of confluences (beyond just the eclipses) and the heavy somatick staticks abound bore a sore stasis. It was tethered together on the nape of a new head's growth, and it may be discernable through the ramshackle technomantik issues apparent in the final draft. Amidst sacrificing a 5-year hard-won atmosphere into boxes and trunks fit for bigger and brighter while punching the malkuthian timeenergy captital-suckage of a tireless work/life balance is reason enough for the silence as of late, but I couldn't simply arrange this bric-a-brac episode together without some form of mercurian grump-glitch throwing a bone at every plan laid. ABOUT DIMtZUM: The creation and whirlwind magicks utilized to conjure a surprise and powerful record, whilst in the midst of piecing outing my song sigil series, is a fantastick example of the hauntsigil, personally, but hypersigil, commonly, in turn. My Hauntomancy within DIMtZUM is best exemplified by the communion of the Spectre of my youth—one doused in the desert heat and cradled within the fuzz gospel of bands such as The Melvins, Unwound, Fugazi—and one that I have always cherished, yet, never knew how to conjure those deep influences until this project arose. The Aspectre was also danced with, as I found myself white-eyed and ravenous to experiment with my own talismanic instruments in ways hitherto unknown, inspired by the cosmick rhythms of Frater Perseus somatickally performed in his own magickal artspace called The Mauve Room, and allowed me to tether his conjurations from my Dimming Room: A rather analog & somatick affair considering we were transcontinental in collaboration, but one that kept the dirty ghost within a baritone fuzz gospel based upon performance rather than post-production. Without disrespectfully constituting Frater Perseus' own utilization of Hauntomancy within this sigil, or discussing his own praxis without his explicit description, I will say a marked element of Hauntomancy I noticed with Perseus' construction of the DIMtZUM rhythms was that of letting go of long charged and utilized syncopations. He almost retired these long toiled with rhythms to haunt on within these DIMtZUM songs; an exorcism of what was through true communion. He has told me that a lot of these rhythms, although created long ago but never utilized, nor found an appropriate home, can now find their unfinished business somewhat fulfilled upon this DIMtZUM HauntSigil. A fantastic example of Hauntomancy at play as the praxis was both a reverent dirge to what was as well as an ecstatic road-opening to forthcoming, newfangled experimentations. Here is the full mastered 6 song album I created with Frater Perseus for the DIMtZUM project and a full visualizer! The album will be released via bandcamp and youtube at 6am on 8/4/24. We chose this release date and time due to celestial elections, and hope our navigation proves fruitful. The visualizer uses drone footage from Logan Ford that we shot at and around his property of DIRT HAWK RANCH, NM. I also added my analog tape glitch for fun effect. But this is more about the musick than anything else… Also, here’s the sigil for the projekt. After years of working with Eric Millar and his We The Hallowed Press bouts of independent publishing, I decided I would take a stab at creating custom, blank journals—largely for myself and my endless need of scribble books. I designed a blank journal with PragMagick's Austin Osman Spare Planchette insignia, only the image on the cover, but needed to publish it to the public to get my discounted author copies, so I pummeled through the annoying minutiae of listing it for sale to a general audience. I knew how niche and specific these designs were, and had no expectation about them selling. The simple praxis of self-publishing these wholly custom journals got me itchy about all the publishing projects from the early We The Hallowed era. Hell, even Revelator Rosz, my rebirthed moniker reinvigorated by the Prospectre Ritual, is still listed as an author to the first ever We The Hallowed zine. Dissolving the internal dissonance I've felt with We The Hallowed as a magickal apparatus of late, echoing its ethos of anarchic revelries of shared metaphysical creations, and finally, resounding in the thirdscene of both made new—allowed me to construct this anarchic grimoire, this workbook, this rubric for user-created ritual construction. Notes on terminology From Elena (SorcerersHomie): Praxis: Rite, ritual, practice, cycle. Tethers: Additional notes that don't entirely belong to the other sections of the praxis. Intention: Succinctly articulated objective of the praxis. Spectres: [Note to self] Go read Keats' entry on this as well as the following. These are external or internal contacts—deities, spirits, intelligences, saints, notions i.e., "certain musicians' pathos," etc., with whom you wish to parlay your intentions. Talismans: Physical objects to be utilized in the rite. These may be tools for some specific purpose or items used symbolically toward the aims of sympathetic magic. Invo/evocation Sequence: A distillation of the rite's sequence into nine distinct steps. For best results, they should be comprehensible to a second person. Sigil: A symbolized representation of the praxis (via the usual means). Declarations: The praxis' "prayers, chants, decrees, etc." or the song's lyrics, mission statement, etc. The text of the rite. Observations: "Note the conditions within and outside the self. A micro mindfulness meditation to break you away from the fervor of craft creation." 1 Month Later: Reflections after a month. Disolver: Admissions of obstacles to the rite's work that should be resolved. I think of these as "the trees," as in, "can't see the forest for the trees." Keats writes: "Dissolve them to see past [them]" in this section. Eco: "What do you need to keep performing? These are actions; these are movements. Roar the elements that worked to have them amplified and repeat!" Josephine [McCarthy] always reminds us patterning strengthens ritual actions. Knowing this, what actions will you repeat in future? Resonar: "A revelatory whim materializes. [...] What is it you hope wallows and lingers on from the praxis?" What epiphanies from the praxis process our outcome will you carry with you? This time around, Keats Ross of the PragMagick podcast is here to get our fingers deep in the dark recesses of our unconscious minds, doing some kinds of ghost-busting that you've probably never considered before! Yes, we'll be celebrating the Halloween season a little bit -- and for most you that are listening to this outside of October, don't be discouraged! The content is applicable to any season, but it's just so fitting right now. Yes, it's gonna be a form of hungry-ghost-busting! Keats talks to us about his multi-media work that he's entitled "Haunt Manual" discussing the aspects of our characters, our egos, our minds, and our lives that haunt us. We talk quite a bit about both eastern and western esotericism, discussing ritual and ceremony in drug rehabilitation and other forms of therapy, the archetypes of hungry ghosts and demons and angels, and the alchemical process of rooting around in our own minds in order to purify and renew what we've thrown away through trauma and misunderstanding. We also talk a little bit about Keats' history growing up with his father, a man who hosted a show very similar to the ones Keats and I host! Through his father, Keats met as a child prominent names such as Robert Anton Wilson and even Timothy Leary, which helped to inspire his own pursuits to this day. Pull the cosmic trigger: search back through the stories and art that inspired you as a child, forgive yourself for your mistakes, stop letting nostalgia and regret torment you, and dig deep into your psyches to forgive and renew the aspects that haunt you. The likes of Robert Anton Wilson, Marilyn Ferguson and Timothy Leary (as well as various other counter-culture luminaries) loomed large, both physically and ideologically, in his youth. Ross began self-releasing music via MP3.com at the ripe age of 13 as DAKOTA SLIM - beginning his work as a prolific creator and audio engineer, while writing semi-professionally for a local newspaper and devouring esoteric knowledge.
