Op 13 augustus is het 30 jaar geleden dat Marc Dutroux werd gearresteerd. Wat begon met de bevrijding van Sabine Dardenne en Laetitia Delhez, groeide uit tot een nationaal trauma toen ook de lichamen van Julie, Mélissa, An en Eefje werden gevonden. De zaak legde pijnlijke fouten bij politie en justitie bloot. België kwam massaal op straat en de politiek stond op zijn kop. Caroline Van den Berghe blikt terug op de zaak die ons land voorgoed veranderde.

In 2026 zijn al meer dan 1.600 natuurbranden gedetecteerd. Honderdduizenden mensen moesten evacueren en de economische impact loopt op tot miljarden euro's. Niet alleen Zuid-Europa, maar ook België en Nederland krijgen vaker met natuurbranden te maken. Hoe ontstaan ze, hoe blus je ze en is klimaatverandering de grootste oorzaak? En wat gebeurt er met de natuur nadat het vuur gedoofd is? Kobe praat erover met Koen Goffings, onderzoeker naar natuurbranden en crisisbeleid aan de PXL Hogeschool.

Wat maakt Britse humor zo typisch Brits? Van Monty Python en Blackadder tot Mr. Bean, Ricky Gervais en Dave Allen: absurd, droog en vaak heerlijk herkenbaar. Alex Agnew groeide dankzij zijn Britse vader op met die humor en ziet opvallend veel gelijkenissen met de Vlaamse. Amerikanen zijn dan weer uitbundiger en sneller op hun tenen getrapt - net als Nederlanders. Aan de hand van hilarische fragmenten duiken Kobe en Alex in de Britse comedyscene.

Nihal Arthanayake: From Radio 1 to Corporate Storytelling - Class, Diversity & the BBC's Blind Spots Nihal Arthanayake, former BBC Radio 1 presenter, joins Jimmy's Jobs of the Future to trace his career, from promoting rap nights at 16 and fronting Collapsed Lung to being dropped by a major label and pivoting into music journalism and PR before becoming a Radio 1 DJ in 2002. Nihal explains how radio shifted from gatekeeping to curating as social media and algorithms changed music discovery, and recounts his 23 years across Radio 1, Asian Network and 5 Live, including planning his exit and ultimately being engineered out after speaking out. He argues the BBC's biggest bias is class, says it “lies about diversity,” keeps people of color in boxes, and fears the Daily Mail more than ideological labels suggest.
