De kerken lopen leeg en pastoors vinden wordt steeds moeilijker. Alexander Vandaele is pastoor in Ninove. Hij heeft niet minder dan 14 kerken onder zijn bevoegdheid. Maar wat doet een pastoor eigenlijk allemaal? En wat is het verschil met een priester of een diaken?

Bomen zijn fascinerende organismen en ze vertellen altijd een bijzonder verhaal. En ja,ze kunnen met elkaar communiceren door schimmels en feromonen. Dat gebeurt via het Wood Wide Web. Sommige bomen hebben jaarringen die teruggaan tot 5.000 terug. Die zijn dus ouder dan de piramiden. Bart Backaert leidde 40 jaar lang de groendienst in Aast. Hij is een vat vol verhalen over oude bomen en de cultus daarrond.

Over de Tour De France wordt gezegd dat je die vooral in bed wint. Dat wijst op het belang van de slaap om lichaam en geest te laten herstellen. Steeds meer mensen worstelen met slaapproblemen en hebben er vragen over. Tellen de uren voor middernacht dubbel? Kan je slaaptekort inhalen? Welke rol speel onze biologische klok? Wat is slaapapneu? Voormalig sportjournalist Carl Huybrechts is gepassioneerd door olijfolie. Hij heeft een olijfgaard in een dorpje in Andalusië en produceert daar zijn eigen olijfolie. Dat heeft intussen een bio-label gekregen. Bijna drie kwart van de olijfolieproductie komt trouwens uit Spanje, het leeuwendeel daarvan uit Andalusië. Daar wordt de kwaliteit van de olie veel strenger bewaakt.
