Richard Isanove has colored so many big projects over the years, it's dizzying. He started out as an animation student, first in Paris, then in California. While on the West Coast, he was hired by Brian Haberlin as Top Cow's staff colorist and eventual art director. From there, it was on to Marvel, where he brought his exacting eye to big titles like Daredevil: Father, Wolverine: Origin, Marvel 1602, and the Stephen King adaptation, The Dark Tower. Along the way, Richard's done his share of illustrating and painting, primarily in later issues of The Dark Tower. He also wrote and drew Savage Wolverine: Wrath. Now, he's back with his old pal Joe Quesada, coloring the lead book Disciple for Joe's new Amazing Comics imprint. You can follow Richard on Facebook and Instagram @richard.isanove. ____________________Check out a video version of this episode on our YouTube channel: youtube.com/dollarbinbandits.If you like this podcast, please rate, review, and subscribe on Apple Podcasts. In the immortal words of legendary author Stephen King " The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed. The desert was the apotheosis of all deserts, huge, standing to the sky for what looked like eternity in all directions." The Dark Tower novel series written by Stephen King was originally published in 1982 with a world set in a Western with elements of the dark supernatural fantasy. The story follows the adventures of Roland Deschain, son of Steven of the House of Eld as The Gunslinger purses his quest to reach the Dark Tower, the center of the universes and his vengeance upon The Man In Black. Regarded as Stephen Kings magnum opus, this series was adapted into the comic book format published by Marvel Comics in 2007 by the incredible comic book team of Robin Furth, scripts by Peter David, and art by Jae Lee and Richard Isanove. During this podcast we will discuss the history of the series, adaptations of Dark Tower, the first arc of this story in the graphic novel collections and so much more.

For 27 years, he was comics' ultimate man of mystery. The most popular X-Man of them all, Wolverine was known for his healing factor, adamantium claws, and - perhaps most intriguingly - the large question mark that hovered over his unknown early years. But that all changed in 2001, when Marvel finally decided to give us a peek at his secret beginnings, with Origin, a six-issue miniseries from Paul Jenkins, Andy Kubert and Richard Isanove. Now, 15 years later, Trev and Joe take a look back at this classic/controversial story, both discussing the reasons it came to be and reviewing the entire miniseries itself. But first, a look at some X-Men movie news, as the guys analyze the costumes in the latest Apocalypse group photo, ponder yet another Gambit delay, and give their thoughts on the rumored casting for Josh Boone's New Mutants. Plus, some talk of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the upcoming Mystery Science Theater 3000 cast reunion. Opening Music: "Wolverine: The Musical!" from Barely Productions and Indy Mogul.
