Composer Henry Jackman is known as one of the top film composers of today, responsible for dynamic scores for blockbusters like Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Kong: Skull Island. Within The Walt Disney Company, he has composed several scores for Marvel (including Captain America: Civil War) and now five films for Walt Disney Animation Studios: Winnie the Pooh, Wreck-It Ralph, Big Hero 6, Ralph Breaks the Internet, and Strange World. With its newest production, Jackman brings an enveloping and poignant score, making the Strange World universe even more eccentric. He consistently demonstrates his background in classical music mixed with electronic prowess. On this episode of Notably Disney, Henry speaks with host Brett Nachman about his work for Disney, unique contributions to making the Strange World score both exhilarating and resonant, and other projects. Check out Henry Jackman's IMDb page to explore his vast array of contributions to film, television, and video game scores. Here's why that could be a great thing for DC provided they address this one small issue. Quentin Tarantino made some headlines dogging the Marvel Studios product and how it's failing to make movie stars so of course he gets our Dummy of the Week nomination.

We have a double bonus review for you all this week, but with a twist. In addition to reviewing Glass Onion and The Fabelmans, we discuss Hollywood's ongoing box office woes, particularly when it comes to Netflix's business model and Disney's rough rollout of Strange World. First up, we discuss Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, the spinoff/sequel of Knives Out, also directed of course by Rian Johnson and featuring the return of Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc, the world's greatest detective not named Batman, along with a huge, star-studded ensemble cast. Then we go back in time to the childhood of Steven Spielberg, in his new awards-friendly semi-autobiographical drama The Fabelmans, which stars Michelle Williams and Paul Dano as his parents of a different name. The "Dirty Sons of Pitches" are once more tackling two similar movies released closely, this time the twins of 1998 college murder schemes, with the more star-studded "Dead Man on Campus" plays its premise for lackluster dark comedy, the indie noir thiller "The Curve," formerly titled "Dead Man's Curve," is an absurd movie that overdoses on twists that undo every logical aspect about the plotting, all in the name of being seen cool but failing so badly. It's a new favorite of Ben's, and maybe it will be for you too. Available on Apple and Spotify Episode 364 includes: -We've lost a key Power Ranger. It's mournin' time. -Nate shares thoughts on "The Menu," "My Son Hunter," "Black Panther 2," and "Smile." -Disney's "Strange World" is a movie best worth waiting for being on TV. -Double or Nothing -- "Dead Man on Campus" / "The Curve" -The guys discuss the two weirdly similar movies, both about schemes to get straights As by pushing a collegiate roommate to kill themself, and one of them is a middling dark comedy and the other is one of the most hilariously ridiculous examples of twist-overdose Tarantino-knockoff neo-noir that the late 90s indie scene has to offer. Ben declares "The Curve" a new addition to his favorite so-bad-it's-good movies.

Highlights: “It was so bad. It was Disney's second-worst opening weekend ever, it crashed with a historically bad opening weekend and when all is said and done, it's projected to lose Disney upwards of $100 million.” “Wokeness is not transcendent. It is a very particular ideology held ironically by a very fringe minority, both domestically and internationally speaking, it does not have a transcendent bone in its body! The Nose is off this week. In its place: The movie musical died a long, slow death a long time ago. Right? Well, except that there's Spielberg's West Side Story.
